Yes a great looking bike.👍 The Avon Spirit tyres are brilliant, have them on my tiger 1050 sport and previous tiger. Great winter and summer tyres for two euro touring and out for a blast.
Hi Mat, nice to see you again, thank God I have my wife who translates most of your talk for me, even if I don't understand the language very well, your videos speak for themselves..., for me they are excellent. good weekend to you and all your followers. A hug
Hi Julian, I realise these videos might be a hard for non-English speaking viewers, I’ll to remember to transcribe the next ones! Hope you are doing well my friend.
Hi Matt, thanks for the video, really enjoyed the walk around of all your mods. It’s one of the thing’s that makes Bonnies so nice, the amount of customisation we can do. It’s nice to have some background info on where you are riding too. Would be nice to hear about your experience with the t120 as well, not a review as such but what ownership has been like, what you like or don’t like etc. have a great weekend 🏍
They really are great platforms to customise and yes I think you’re right, I should do a kind of ‘owners’ review at some point; so I will! Hope you have a great weekend yourself.
Great video Matt, really interesting to see the mods you’ve made. The bike looks superb, you’ve not overdone it with the mods. I’m very tempted to get the pannier bags to compliment the tail bag I bought from yourself for my speed master 🤔
Thanks Steven, I did go too far at one point but it made me realise that I wanted to keep the bike looking like a proper Bonneville, it’s just enough at the moment. Obviously I’m biased but I say you should buy some panniers 😁. Hope the tail bag is doing a good job for you!
Thanks Marcus, there’s actually loads more little things that I totally forgot about, it’s all quite subtle though as I wanted it to stay looking like a T120.
perfect timing - last week i asked myself, which parts you choosed for your beauty. then i found the list on your website. but this kind of presentation is much better - thanks a lot. greetings from vienna.
@@ClassicRides yes of course i did. i´m still looking for my "queen of the hearts" on the used-market, while still driving my honda cb sevenfifty and my honda vfr 800 interceptor. for the last "one and only" a couple of weeks ago, i was a little bit too late at the store and someone else made the deal. she doesn´t have to be the beautiest, because i have no garage for my bikes over the driving season. only two or three months in the wintertime i can put them under a warming roof. my hondas seem to be bullet proof enough to manage that. hopefully, that triumph offers a similar built quality. ;-) :D i would like to take the t120 as a daily driver cross vienna at work and back and also for touring with sozia and luggage. first i had only eyes for the black edition, but when i saw your silver one, i thought i could change my opinion... :D :D after my two week testride last year i´m still in love with this bike. could you tell me what mileage you have on your bike? did you have any technical issues since you bought her? greetings from vienna and hope you excuse my bumpy english - i got a little bit rusty since schooltime. :D
@@rramirrezz your English is very good Onkel, far better than my German! 😁 So far I have ridden my bike about 14,000 miles. The only problem I’ve had is when you get a puncture, you cannot fix it yourself so you have to be rescued and the bike returned home or to a garage that can change tubes on spoked wheels, which in the UK is surprisingly few. Other than that my bike has been perfect. The black bikes do look good, but I personally prefer shiny things and I feel as though it’s easier to keep clean. With the right sprays and waxes, the dirt just slides off the metal surfaces. I think a T120 would be a great stablemate for your other bikes, I hope you find ‘the one’ soon!
@@ClassicRides of course - punctures you wont get with this spoked wheels and tubless ones from alpina or kineo are very expensive. this is the reason, why i first had a look at the speed twin with its 17 inch tubeless wheels. but she is a roadster and offers less passenger-space and luggage mount possibilities. the t120 is the better allrounder. and to be honest - a classic bike should have spoked wheels...should´nt it? ;-) :D
Nice waffling Mat,& interesting to hear about your bike mods,& was a nice change to hear your engine noise & the vance & hines sound great,i rode a speed twin demo with vance & hines exhaust from w.yorks triumph a few weeks ago(,whilst my street triple rs was having it's first svc),& absolutely loved the sound & the torque of that engine, safe riding 👍
Thanks Adrian! W.Yorks Triumph seem a decent bunch, they sorted out my tyres when I couldn’t get the bike booked in anywhere local for at least a month. I’m getting there with recording the exhaust, it’s such a good noise. I bet your Triple sounds great too!
Thanks Tim and yes, Motone do do some really great stuff. I’m getting closer to recording the engine noise in a decent way so hopefully it’ll keep getting better!

Hi Matt great insight into ur bike👍 I have the same issues with the motone indicators filling up with water, I also find them dim, may change them to LED soon. Also plug for your bags just bought the sling bag and the pannier for my street scrambler and absolutely love them. The sling is turning into my go to bag for everything. Try Thornton hundred for a rad guard my street scrambler has 1 and my wife’s street twin we have no issues with them so far and only £50👍. Ride safe brother.
Sad to hear you’re having the same issues with the indicators. The small hole I drilled solved about 90% of the problem, but I think the continuing water damage will mean new indicators will be needed, shame really as they look great. I’ll definitely have a look at Thornton’s rad guard, £50 sounds a lot more reasonable! And I’m super happy to hear you’re liking your bags, I use the sling for lots of things too, not just biking, it’s a great little bag.
Hi classic rides, I think all you have done to your bike really makes your bike look really great and the saddle looks great and really looks good and have you thought to put crash protection on to protect the engine . The exhaust looksreally great and the sound would be really great sound to , great vid and look forward to the next vid
Thanks Paul, it has engine bars on already actually, I just for got to mention them in the video. The bars are copies of the Triumph Dresser bars so they mount very high, not sure how useful they'd be in a drop to be honest, I think they look good and are better than nothing.
Great guided tour round your bike Matt, regarding your phone mount checkout THORNTON HUNDRED MOTORCYCLES video the ULTIMATE Triumph phone mount, (1 year ago) they have designed 1 that replaces the handlebar clamp & looks really neat. Looking forward to more videos in the future…Les
Thanks for that Les, I’ll have a look at it. I have risers fitted (that I forgot to mention) so I’m not sure if they’d fit or not. Definitely worth checking out though, thanks again!
I do enjoy the walk around detailing what you've done and why. Can you tell me what the rear dampers/shock absorbers are that you made the change to? My speakers aren't that precise. Apologies.
You have a beautiful looking Bonnie and the modifications you’ve made to the bike actually finish it off lovely. Have you told Motone about the parts you’ve had fitted that have weathered? I hope they can sort that out for you.
Thanks Garry. I think I have a reasonably good relationship with Motone so I’ll probably mention the weathered parts at some point. Having said that, I ride my bike all through winter so I think some of the parts weren’t designed with salt in mind 😁
Hi Matt! Wonderfull content! Looking at your vid's eases my mind. I was wondering where u got that rear fender from? Is this the 'Motone Custom Mudguard Predrilled'?. I would like to keep my grabrail and still tidy it up a bit...U seem to find the right balance between looks and functionality. Thanx in advance. Have a nice day!
Thanks Maarten, glad to hear you’re liking the videos. I don’t know if Motone do that exact mudguard anymore, it’s called the Longreach rear mudguard. Might be worth emailing them and referencing my bike just to make sure, as the other rear mudguards don’t really have space for both the light and the grabrail. Sam at Motone knows my bike so he’ll be able to tell you if he still does that exact one 🙂
Another great video Matt. Where did you source the SC fork protectors? I’ve been wanting scrap my fork gators bet all the protectors I can find require disassembly to install. Thanks
Hey Matt i store my bike in a narrow space too so i glued with silicone some old yoga or camping hiking sleeping mats to the wall so if i nudged the wall as you do to prevent me scuffing the mirrors. The neoprene is very light in weight so the stick up well as opposed to using heavy carpet etc. Give it a go?
Thanks Mark, that’s a great idea. My brother actually made me some leather mirror covers that do the trick perfectly, so hopefully I won’t destroy these mirrors quite as quickly as the last ones 😁
Hi Matt. I love your channel and your motorcycle. I would like to put an auxiliary headlight like yours. Could you tell me what diameter it is? Thanks from Spain
Hi Juan, glad to hear you're liking the channel. The auxiliary light I have is 5inches in diameter, I believe it's a Harley Davidson light, though I'm not sure which particular model it came off.
Thank you very much, Matt. With that information I'm going to look for a headlight for my Bonnie T-100. I really like the aesthetics of your motorcycle with that British retro feel that I like so much.
Hi Matt Very interesting video . Took your advice and got myself some pro prep. Now I don’t own a Bonnie myself, but find increasingly tempted to get one. Couple of questions….do you find maintaining the chain a pain due to the position of the exhaust. Presume you have to remove the end can to properly get at the chain ? Also what mounting system do you use for the panniers and are the bags waterproof ? Ride safe 👍
Personally I don't find the chain too much of a chore to get at, there are places where you can easily place a chain cleaning brush, and for adjusting the tension a lot of people will say you have to remove the end cans, but you if you have an angled 12mm and 13mm spanner it's easy to do with the exhausts in place. The bags are waxed canvas cotton so they're not 100% waterproof as no waxed cotton is on its own. They're very water resistant though, so I carry a couple of backpack covers just incase it really starts to rain hard. The panniers use a leather strap mounting system that be done in a couple of ways, there's a video on my website that shows how they mount in more detail :)
Hi Nance, they’re my own brand, if you’d like more info on them you can find it at www.classic-rides.uk. The particular bags in this video are currently out of stock, but hopefully there’ll be more coming next month.
No you didn’t miss anything, I just didn’t mention it for some reason 😁 I got the light from a breaker on eBay, I’m not 100% sure but I think it’s an old Harley Davidson unit. The bracket, switch and wiring loom were all from different places too.
