All the guys criticizing Chris r u kidding. He is a great guitarist. He has his own band. And does all the marshall demos and has has been around awhile. If u can do better get up there and do it or shut up. But u didnt get the job did you?
@Ningirsutyr this is an amp for slash/guns n roses fans. it's called AFD for a reason. why else would one buy it??? so thanks for pointing out the fricking obvious!!!
@riseofthefallen301 oh and in case it slipped yr attention, this amp can be regulated from 100 down to 0.1% without losing the biting tone tube amps normally produce only at high volumes. that in itself is already amazing.
I wanted to say that over the years many amp builders have tried to top the original MARSHALL amp and IMHO have failed. A MARSHALL is a MARSHALL and all thse clones or whatever you want to call them dont do it for me! this newer AFD is a great example a PURE MARSHALL tone! The LOOK alone of a MARSHALL is so damn sexy too! and that smell, man if they would bottle that smell i would wear it as my cologne!!!
@tmarks313 Silver Jubilee, Slash used one of those on the AFD album or a Vintage Modern 100 watter, he's used those more recently. I'm not sure what else those are the only ones I've tried.
what marshall will get close to this sound? i love slash, hes my favorite player. but i dont wanna use a signature series. so, if anyone can help me out, thatd be great
@jimamundo Edwards guitars, made by ESP. Don't know much about em but if ESP make em they cant be all bad :-)

Guitarist's idea of demoing an amp with a variety of different guitars was exactly the missing point in other magazines' product reviews. Nice thinking of them! And thanks to their idea we've had the chance to see that the Marshall AFD is just a one trick pony since even the EMG81 managed to barely color the amp's tone despite its active preamp circuit! I wouldn't buy this unless I'm thinking of playing one single type of music or I'm a huge Slash/Marshall fan/collector..
sorry dude, i guess i was a bit of a dick about it. i guess i was just tired of this attitude. it's like when people say "the tone's in the fingers, not the amp" - it's a combination of everything, the guitar, the pickups, the style of picking and vibrato, the pedals, the amp, the volume, everything. so i take that back. actually, on your other point, Sambora has been known to use the Jimi crybaby live, the EVH 5150 III amp is being used by metal bands everywhere, like steel panther, etc.
@riseofthefallen301 oh, so because i've got a different opinion from yrs i'm a teenager or immature adult??? yr comments r getting better and better fellow youtuber!!! ;-) LOL
@riseofthefallen301 u just don't get it, do u. let me break this down for u. maybe i don't want a fucking 15w transistor amp. maybe i want a 100 w tube amp so i can get the famous sound that ONLY a tube amp provides plus i need only one amp and not two if i wanted to play proper gigs as well.
@riseofthefallen301 that must have been among the most stupidest questions i've ever heard! the point is that u can play it in yr bedroom without waking yr entire neighborhood and when it's gig time u let out the monster.
but as a guitarist you should be able to understand that nobody is good enough to fully replicate anybody's sound. You're playing it, so it'll sound like you. Chris George doesn't play very much like slash, and so whilst he still sounded awesome, did not sound like slash. Also, where's the sin in using sounds you really like from a great album as a blueprint for your sound? The amp slash used on AFD was specifically modded aiming for the early Van Halen tone. I believe your snobbery is outdated
@STRATOCASTER1992 i bet if you hear someone insulting gay&pervers you will call him a homophobe! so let this guy alone, if he likes piercings then good for him.
There is no dress code in rock and roll. You like piercings, you have piercings and play rock and roll. You want to impose a dress code, go run a bank.

The sound is amazing and thanks that you plugged in a Fender Stratocaster. This is the sound I dreamed of!

I friggin love the marshall!
Got a profile of this amp in my Kemper. It rocks hard.
That's a nice Les Paul Chris. The black looks sharp.
+coffeewaldo Sorry but I think that guitar is blue my friend!!

Man your playing is just perfect.. yo make this amp sound its best
A DSL100 is your best bet in hard rock and metal. A JCM800 is also a great amp, but it will be harder to get your hands on one.
@tmarks313 Silver Jubilee, Slash used one of those on the AFD album or a Vintage Modern 100 watter, he's used those more recently. I'm not sure what else those are the only ones I've tried.
BRING BACK THIS FUCKIN AMP IN STOCK "
PS GREAT FUCKIN PLAYIN MAN, YOU ROCK !

i agree with your comment, but not that it has anything to do with rock n roll
is this amp still in production ?
No.
@STRATOCASTER1992 dude, it's his face not yours.
@tmarks313 vintage modern close
@aikeeramz its Gibson, man
this amp/guitar sounds absolutely like guns n roses mate!!!
nice playing!! but, that neck looks a little dry, or is it my imagination?
Wow, deep man....
Les Pool
as a guitarist i don't understand why someone would buy an amp to make them sound like someone else.. create your own sound...
Holy Crap.......... Look enough chrome to bumper up a 1957 Chevy........
edwards by esp.

@pacovl46 i bet you're around 16 and if you're not, you've stopped maturing around that age. fair enough, have a good day, fellow youtuber!
@riseofthefallen301 oh, so because i've got a different opinion from yrs i'm a teenager or immature adult??? yr comments r getting better and better fellow youtuber!!! ;-) LOL
Lol, that fretboard almost looks like maple.
Geez, left handed, pierced, dry fretboard....anything else you wanna find wrong with this?
Great player, great tone, great amp!

The fretboard looks really dry, use some lemon oil

@STRATOCASTER1992 If he plays that great, than his piercings don't bother me. :)

You've got something on your face...
what's the point of buying a massive 100 watt amp and playing it at 0.1 watts?
Guess Slash isn't rock n roll, then...
Shitty amp. Real #34 sounds more open and natural.
Slash has piercings. Guess he's not rock and roll either.
great amp!
POOR GUITAR PLAYER!
