Pros for the Geekom A8: The Beelink SER9 is a larger mini PC at 0.8L vs the Geekom A8's impressively small 0.46L size and the A8 has 4 display out ports instead of the SER9's 3. The A8 RAM supports up to 64GB and the SER9's RAM is much faster at 7500Mhz (8000Mhz OC) but not upgradeable from 32GB. Pros of the SER9: The SER9 has a full function USB4 port, hdmi 2.1, expandable 2nd ssd slot, a newer and better CPU/iGPU about 10-25% better in short bursts and about 50% better for sustained loads. Unfortunately, the A8 RAM thermal throttles and this can result in about a 25% performance loss in tasks longer than a couple minutes. The SER9 on the other hand is much better cooled and unlocked to the point I can overclock the system for about 2-7% extra performance. There is also a significant noise difference as the A8 will have to ramp up its fan speed more frequently to keep the mini cool. Overall, if size isn't super important to you, the Beelink SER9 is a much better value. I might even recommend the much cheaper SER8. The A8 is almost half the size if you have pockets big enough for it. I just wish Geekom had cooled it properly or used an 8840U CPU instead of a 8945HS or 8845HS.
I just got a ser8 a couple weeks ago. I seen this ser9 video pop up and my first thought was crap, I might should have waited. Then you mentioned the price and open it up to find no memory slots. Nope I'm good with the ser8 lol
@8ball_998 performance per dollar right now is looking like it is in favor of the SER8 because the SER9 is wildly expensive right now. The price has to come down but I'm not sure when. The upgradeable RAM in the SER8 is phenomenal long term and it is great to see mini pc owners really appreciate modular RAM.
Having issues reattaching that speaker cable. Any suggestions? Would be great if you could do a 1 min video on that as I suspect a lot of people will have this issue. Great vid!
@Urosaurus idk if that is a question for me or CAG but here is a link to the video for reattaching the speaker: ruclips.net/video/9lC2OeSAe1M/видео.htmlsi=B2blcMFgIJybCZRJ
I really like this stuff. The only issue is soldered 32Gb of ram, but this is a trade of it's high 7500Mhz frequency as per my understanding. 64Gb will be ideal for me. Good job! Will wait for performance testing. Just in case does anyone need almost new ser8 lol?
@DemenkovK thank you! and I agree the missing sodimm slots is definitely a trade I don't like. The opportunity to install 64GB or even 96GB RAM would fit the high price much better than 32GB. SER8 is a great and cool machine xD
How i can i have missed that publication, thanks you SerMumble, Is there a reason why Beelink and Aoostar are releasing their first A I9 HX 370 Mini PC models with soldered RAM? Ah thanks you for the give away info, i will try my luck 🙏
Happy to help Ghost and best wishes with the giveaway! As I understand the reason for the soldered RAM is because AMD refused to provide support for SODIMM modules for Zen 5 mobile. Beelink, Aoostar, Minisforum, and other brands have great engineers but I don't think they are paid enough or have enough time to do AMD's job for them to completely redesign the CPU for SODIMM. At the moment none of the laptops support SODIMM either and everyone is worried about the lack of upgradeability when last gen we could install 2-3 times more RAM.
@VitasOnLine i am running tests as fast as I can and updating numbers here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mHzUf9Mc2KZC7XjY2Y9KOp26uUJ_dMThe2vfSyQQANs/edit?usp=drivesdk Keep in mind intel synthetic scores are overinflated for their arc GPU. Timespy DX12 is looking closer than the firestrike DX11 test. The data is very raw but I will clean up and review this better in a future video soon.
I ran the HX370 on my the same wifi and bluetooth speaker as shown in the video below for the SER8. The SER9 wifi was about the same range and worked at my full internet speed and the bluetooth was about 65-70ft instead of 70-75ft with the SER8. I'm not sure why my bluetooth speaker was cutting out at a bit shorter even though the SER8 and SER9 have the same wireless card and antenna. The only way I could create an issue with the wifi was if I used a low quality wireless source but they should still be fully functional with updated drivers and close enough proximity. ruclips.net/video/0GI8dubPJiU/видео.htmlsi=o15MFJXjVIgo0h8p
Wow at price. The ONLY significant benefit of this over the now aged 780m is a slightly better iGPU. Not worth the price. Will probably buy this sometime next year when strix halo is out or an Intel one which from what Ive seen its iGPU is now at this level. 780m mini pcs were also very overpriced when released so I guess time will tell.
Because of the removal of the ddr5 sodimm slots and the retension of all the m.2 ports and heatsink, the space the speakers use couldn't be used for much else. Removing the speakers would not make the computer smaller and I tried removing the speakers in the GTi14 Ultra and they did not make a noticeable temperature improvement. Maybe the next best thing that space could have been used for was an internal usb to 2.5" drive slot but I would rather prefer the second m.2 ssd for storage expansion and a free usb port.
@Rayu25Demon yeah! $5k giveaway of 5x SER9 units. It's a good chance to win the most powerful ultra small mini pc right now. I don't recommend buying it at the $1000 SER9 price and waiting for the price to go down. It's just way too expensive for the average person.
Which is best in your opinion? Beelink SER9 or Geekom A8? Thanks

Hello! How much better is the Ser9 than the GTi14 ultra?
I bought the GTi14 ultra 2 weeks ago and reviewed it on my channel.

People are saying Strix Halo will be more exexpensive. So hopefully when that comes out this will be alot cheaper.
why the build in speakers tho .. waste so much internal space.. and only 1 m.2 for SSD ??
I see two m.2 ssd slots and one m.2 wireless card slot. Why do you say there is only one m.2 for ssd?
