The green landscape of Paraguay as seen from a hilltop vantage point

Paraguay is a very green land much of which is covered by trees.
To properly appreciate this it is best seen from a height above the treetops.
One such place is Cerro Kua here in Piribebuy. The solid sandstone outcrop rises high above the surrounding land giving excellent views in every direction.
It is a bit of a tricky climb, involving a rope to get to the summit but well worth the effort.
I am fortunate that this wonderful natural place is just a short walk from my house, and can even been seen from the back door.
There was a bit of a breeze on the exposed hilltop and as I was unable to find a clip on microphone for sale anywhere in Asuncion last time I visited the wind does at a couple of points drown me out.
I apologise for that, but in the end what really matters is the scenery not the sound.

Nice to see the space, very encouraging. I'm in South Africa, live rural/farm life. Struggling somewhat to leave as I need open countryside.

Thank you. Some very nice green and unspoilt countryside can be found in Paraguay. That's the landscape I live in and it makes life quite a pleasure

Hi Simon's. I used to live in PY from '83 to '90. I am now older, and thinking of returning to retire. I have been in your area of Piribebuy several times. I am curious as to the cost and availability of land. I am looking to find a couple of hectars. Can you tell me a range of what I might find there?

Thanks for getting in touch. It is a nice area. There is still plenty of land around but you do have a hunt a bit.A lot is being bought up and split into lots. For undeveloped land around here there is a lot of variability on price, but a solid figure to work from as base line is USD10,000 per hectare

that helps a lot. I have a young wife who wants to have a mall, yet off grid lifestyle. With a good self-sufficient garden, chickens etc. I lived and traveled from.Ciudad del Este, coronrl oviedo, Asuncion, and Encarnacion.

@@mexicotraveler54 Thanks, out here in the countryside there is plenty of space to live a self sufficient life. However whilst the country towns have stores selling all you need for life they do not have anything like malls. Best to be no more than a couple of hours from Asuncion so you can from time to time get to the malls there
