I feel like the Mk 2 was the biggest jump in Tony's armor tech until the Mk 50. Everything else was either an incremental upgrade over the last model or a specialized unit.
You’re right actually, because the Mark 2 is a huge improvement from the Mark 1 and the Mark 50 which is made from nanotech is a huge jump than his previous suits
First it was Tony used the Mark 2 armor to test it to fly in 2008. In Iron Man 2010 Rhodey used the Mark 2 Armor and then it become a War Machine. So that's how the Mark 2 armor converted into War Machine Mark 1.

What I find a lil Ironic is for me, I have my own MK 2 suit, but I made it as a protogen, but I do wish fuse it all together when I do mark 3
That’s awesome and yeah making it into a mark 3 shouldn’t be too hard since they’re basically the same suit just different colors 😅
