Hello lovelies! Here's a video topic that's close to my heart: self-expression and why it's so important! I've been meaning to put this together for quite some time. How you dress affects how you feel! So allow yourself to feel good 🦋✨What do you wear that makes you feel most joyous, most yourself?
I let my granddaughter pick my clothes the other day. She's 5. We did our makeup and she chose the colors. The outfit she picked was what I might wear most days with Muppets on my socks, tie dye sneakers, bright Alice in Wonderland sweatshirt, and long blue skirt. My hair is purple with spikes and buzzed on the sides and back. I've gotten nose and ear piercings that women my age aren't supposed to get (or so I've been told and conditioned to believe). I refuse to dim my light ever again to make someone else comfortable. I take up space and am not invisible. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business. I don't care. I dress like a 5year old in colors and styles that make my heart smile. We need more of this confidence in the world. Thank you!
yes!! I love all of this 😻👏Take up space, shine big and radiate your light! We need more of it. "Not my problem" is one of my go-to phrases this year (as a former people pleaser, it really helps remind me that other people's opinions are not my business). Such an empowering way to go out into the world and live true to you 🦋🕊

I have found my tribe-52 here! ❤I too am here and playing with clothes! I feel like I’m more ME than ever before. Here’s a tip I’ve learned in trying new things: thrift! Go with thrift store and consignment purchases until you get the feel for what is really right for you. At least that’s helped me develop my style😊
Bravo 👏🏼 My husband chose my clothes for 36yrs. I know what you’re thinking 🤔 It was a difficult situation but I’ve been free for 5 years. It’s wonderful to wake up and wear what I love and to be ME ☺️❤️
Love this topic. I also really like your vibe Helena - you definitely sparkle, which is very contagious! I agree that we all have to learn to dance to the beat of our own drum. On colour, I have always been drawn to brightness because when life feels heavy it is colour and zesty scents that help lift us up. Funny how even in the workplace it is normalised to judge others based on whether they fit in. I think not fitting in opens up a world of possibilities with opportunities to reinvent ourselves and maybe change our path in life. At the end of the day it is your reflection you see in the mirror so your opinion counts first.💞🌸
oh yes, color is such a big one! A total gamechanger in how it makes us feel. Indeed about the workplace! It was one of the inspirations for this videos actually! I remember experiencing a lot of that judgment when I used to work an office job and how everyone always felt subconsciously pressured to look the same. That's is so true. I really enjoy seeing a woman dress nice and feeling good about herself. I'm the type of man who gives a compliment. Nice to see someone wear something that makes them feel themselves.
I love your style, the way you express yourself. I so relate to you in many ways. I feel like you are a soul sister. For me I don't care what people think of me, I love dressing up everyday since I was really young. I get so many compliments all the time. I do it for me because it makes me feel good about myself. Me too, as I have been experienced some critiquing what I wear whilst others have complimented me on the same items. I always wear what I want and ignore what someone else thinks because if what I wear makes me happy then that is what matters. 🙂

I’m a dress and medi-skirt kinda girl. I love the 40s fashion with the A-line dress style. I found a few pieces and I can’t wait to start wearing them since I work at my kids’ school. I worked in a hospital before and could never dress up the way I do now.

Lovely video, I've been thinking a lot about this topic recently. Have really been enjoying investing it pretty, feminine clothes recently but occasionally catch myself, worrying that I'm being vain or frivolous for doing so. But what is the shame in admiring beautiful things and gaining inspiration from them? You're right - how we dress does affect how we feel. Of course we shouldn't rely on our clothes for inner security or feel less than if we can't afford all the nice clothes we would like, but nothing wrong with wearing something that makes us feel happy and gives a boost of confidence ☺️

I love that you are not afraid of being you! That you don't make yourself small! That you DON'T play small! That you don't let the societal 'norms' dictate how you express yourself! You are so right about intelligence is being humble, curious, kind and non-judgmental and not about how you dress yourself. You are all of these as well as fun, loving and a very intelligent person and entrepreneur! I have been working on NOT shrinking in the corner and playing small. I did an experiment this weekend being around someone that makes me feel uncomfortable and get triggered every time I am around them. I simply changed my perspective - rather than worry about how this person will treat me, I engaged a conversation with them, treated them with respect and at the same time interacted with others while being myself instead of sitting in the corner, hiding or leaving the space.

That’s so true Helena! If we factor on the mental health therapeutic benefits of the clothes we dress, how they make us feel, how they heal us subconsciously. Unfortunately the society judges takes feminine women less seriously professionally. A strong woman learns not to care.
