Yes, you can attack a dormant heart but it will awaken immediately with the slightest damage. So if you can get close to a dormant heart and plant C4 or swing a sledgehammer you'll get the first hit in at least! Thanks for watching and the question 👍😎
I would say securing a cell tower to do plague heart interference would be right after parts. Keeps the hearts asleep from unless you actually attack it, so no screamer waking them up or chain reaction of waking up multiple times
Just started playing this game and the only things I wish they would change is having 1st person optional and the zombies like not spawning just out of nowhere like when making noise while quick searching. Dude - you will not regret playing this game! 3rd person is locked unfortunately, but you can increase and decrease the POV in the graphics menu. Crash searching, (fast search with fail/crash) will sometimes spawn in zombies where there were none before. Also, screamers will spawn in new zombies when they scream. Careful moving up to the edges of houses and buildings as this can spawn the zombies inside even if you can't see them (they might see you!). Enjoy the game man - it's so good! Cheers Tex! Yeah, I agree totally. It's up to the player if they want to use them, or if they want the full Update33 experience then they can choose not to. Either way, the disruptors put a lot of agency back into the hands of players.
I will be honest. I was worried about the difficulty. But the sleeping ph with the limited freaks makes the game so much easier and when the freaks drop useful items, easier still. So long as you dont get cornered by all the freaks from multiple infestations at once, you will be fine. Im playing straight lethal (with an established lethal community) and I havent needed the haven device in my base yet. Newbies pick a base with lots of outpost possibilities nearby and surround your base. The rest of us will pick a base thats near nothing and give our survivors machine guns and cleo weapons or maybe 50 cals. Just dont get overwhelmed. Keep a back up plan. Stick and move. Fire is your friend. Dont be afraid to drop to dashboard and come back in.
Soundproofing reduces noise, so this should reduce the speed at which infestation hordes proliferate. Not sure what the big deal is. The same strategy applies. The only way this makes a difference is if you screw up the attack and have to resupply. Or if you deliberately wake the hearts and let them stew.
The main issue I think was that initially the aggression of the infestations meant that too much time was spent dealing with them, and also resulted in only one real strategy which was to take out any heart that awakened - as soon as possible. This lead to a rushed pacing of the game which players felt they were forced to do, just to get into the game. Since the release, the agression has been dialed back a lot and there are mitigating features like radio calls and disruptors to quell the infestation threat. And so that's what my guide is about, giving players tools in order to be able to manage the update and be able to play the game the way they want to. So love to one day rock up at a empty army base and find a broken tank that needs special skills and parts to get back up and running.
You think so? I reckon the outpost mines are OP and could do with a cool down timer. It's also quite fun to wake up all the hearts first before settling base. 👍😎
It seems asking people if they know how to revert an update is taboo. 😕 I hate this update and tried giving it a chance but no. I managed to de-update it but the game just goes back to patching itself in the morning when I log on to steam. This is what I despise about modern gaming. Devs should just leave games alone and move on to their next project.
Not sure I agree with that. The Juggernaut update made the game playable for me, plus weapon switching, graphic improvements, addition of the Trumbull Valley map etc that have made the game much better than had they simply left it. I do understand what you are saying in terms of when development comes out that you hate, that happened with me playing Crusaders II. De-updating it could cause issues in multiplayer and in the future. What in particular do you hate about the update. Don't say everything because the extra trunk space is awesome. There has to be something specific right?
@@gurugamingkiwi I already told you in another of your vids talking about the update when you asked me something similar, once again. The infestations are not fun. Theres nothing challenging about them. You can take out an infestation by chucking a molotov in a building and that simple. The new plague heart system now makes it tedious to play how you want cause if you go around killing zombies you'll wake up all the plague hearts and its once again gonna be nothing but tedious having to destroy them because the game now locks you into playing a certain way, stealthy which is boring as shit. To the other guy that said well just change difficulty. Thats got nothing to do with it and it shows how they dont know this game. Changing difficulty is not gonna remove the infestation overhaul and how tedious it is when you wake up hearts. If I can't revert the update than I guess thats that. I'm gonna take a page out of Git Gud Fox's book and uninstall the game. Its just funny how yall complain how I want to play the game but I'm not complaining how you wanna play it.
@@gurugamingkiwi I do thank you for all your tips in the game you've helped people out with. I'm not gonna unsub but I'm not gonna be watching anymore state of decay content.

What have the done to this game? it was easy before in lethal now the things are sleeping lol. There needs to be like 10 times the amount of zombies and at night your base should be attacked by at least 5 jugs and 10 Ferrals ever night As soon as you get a bolt sniper the game is pointless.
Sounds like you need to start a fresh community! 😂😂😂 But I can suggest a few things that I do to make the game harder. And not just banning weapons and stuff.
@@gurugamingkiwi I just stared a new game with no boons Just bash the first ph get a gun and rinse and repeat. I really like this game it's just far too easy.

Otherwise it's just more of a beat-able thing. Keen to know how you go!
@@gurugamingkiwi are you even playing the game at that point. Sorry mate it's up to the devs to sort all that cheese out. Thanks jamMod - that's really great feedback, appreciated! Glad you enjoyed the video - thanks for watching and the comment 👍😎
@@gurugamingkiwi I liked the bgm guru, lol... can't win I guess! :)
Where can I download state of decay 2 update 33
If you are connected to the internet - it will update automatically when you load the game. Thanks for watching👍😎
Any other options?
@@isaacmumba2642 SOD2 updates just roll over the last so when you login, it will update to the latest version. There aren't any version options apart from the PTR beta (if you have SOD2 on Steam).
I would still like to see a buff to 357 and 44s
Those are 2 calibers I don't often use, unless I have the Scoped Big Hank! I think one of those, not sure which (or both) can take a feral out with only 2 headshots, but it could be cool if revolvers and single shooters did slightly more damage to Juggs to make them a bit more worth our time. But I ramble...thanks for watching and the comment 👍😎
I don't know if it's my setup. I have no issues with other channels so could be just unlucky. but I am finding your voice audio track is sounds very muffled compared to the rest of your other tracks. Don't know if your mic setup or just the post mixing. You did upload this video 8 months ago so you have most likely rectified the issue.
I did have some mix issues a while back so sorry if they are present for this vid. Thanks for watching and the feedback, I do use it to tighten my game 🙂👍😎
@@gurugamingkiwi Your welcome. I thought as much but you never know. I could have watch some of your other video to find out. But been playing state of decay so been absorbing as much info to make my game play a bit more fun. Still have not got a good strategy. Feel like the game rushes me or I get over run that I can't get enough supplies and those Juggernauts and Ferals are a real pain the ass. So love to one day rock up at a empty army base and find a broken tank that needs special skills and parts to get back up and running.
This update literally made the game easy af....lethal mode is literally nothing now
You think so?
Have you tried adjusting the difficulty sliders? At lower difficulties this update is very unobtrusive.
@@abominablesnowman64 Hey man, if it's not for you, then it's not for you. All good my friend - happy travels 🙂
Ultra Cash FTW
I did the opposite I gave all my teammates crossbows instead of guns 😂😂😂 I think ima give some extra guns kuhz I have a shit load
Haha awesome! How did it go with the crossbows, I'm intrigued! 😂
@@gurugamingkiwi I kinda started playing bro that why an I'm brealy 1 lvl passing medium so I'm not on lethal 😭😂not in that lvl yet
the music is too loud
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching 👍😎
It deleted my community smh container fort 10 people with cleo installed. This type of stuff should not happen.
It shouldn't do that! Do you have multiple profiles or instances of the game?
@@gurugamingkiwi I was bugging I was logged in under my girlfriend account and didn't realize it.
@@THE_REAL_EXECUTIONER Super happy for you man! Phew!
It's easier
You mean you find the update makes the gamer easier? I think if you know how to use the new features like radio calls, plague disruptors etc then for sure. Thanks for watching 👍😎
@@62calum I know what you mean. Here's how I play - it might work to spice things up a bit:
- Always take first available fresh survivors (no 5th skills, no rerolling)
- No boons, no mini-map, no aim snap, no using stuck if you crash yourself, no radio calls you didn't earn with the community you are playing
- No OP: no Red Talon survivors or facilities, no trader outpost, no pyro weapons
- No cheesing: Cheesing hearts, standing on cars, reversing into juggernauts, overdoing dodge spam (to exit heart zone = yes, to enter heart zone = no, to just dodge around the heart endlessly = no), etc
You'll probably still find it easy as you sound like a good player but I found I had to take away the extra help the game gives you to make it harder. Otherwise it's just more of a beat-able thing. Keen to know how you go!
@@gurugamingkiwi are you even playing the game at that point. Sorry mate it's up to the devs to sort all that cheese out. Remove plague cure for a start in lethal, dodge spamming scent blocker standing on things and the amount of guns you get. You should be lucky to have one gun in lethal. They should have base attacks like daybreak on your base as-well and no cars jeez.
@@62calum Dude I love this game. I forgot, yeah I don't use scentblock - except for body recovery sometimes :D. And standing on cars is basically a cheat live-pause function. But not everyone is an expert and I have used all of these things in the past. As I got better I just stopped using them. It's up to players to make the game work for them too, not just the devs. Quite a few players say it's too easy but they are using all the helps with maxed out RTs. Well go figure,.
