When did this "your story, my story" stuff become so important to a product or business? If "story" is being promoted & people actually fall for it then most new businesses will come (& I am sure are) coming up with made up or embellished "stories". Smh.
But a story can be build a brand and can be marketed like that, you think of butlers chocolate, they have a history, nostalgia, people buy into that, yes you can have a story but is it something people will buy into?
Think how many americans visit Ireland because of a story their grandparents told them. Story is what makes people whether they realise it or not choose product A over product B

I disagree with the whole fair trade concept. If someone is willing to work for 25 cents, they NEED it more than someone that wants 5 dollars an hour. In some places children either work, or they starve. We might not like child labor, but which one is worse? Children working, or children starving? People that refuse to buy from companies that pay ultra low wages, take those jobs away from the people that need them the most. In some of the most remote areas on earth, 25 cents an hour can be the difference between eating, and not eating.
I just found DD Ireland and it's so weird compared to the other Dragon's Den. Even the appearance and mannerisms of the dragons are awkward. Very cringe 😝
