Actually, it's pretty simple. Miquella made the Haligtree to care for a whole bunch of people, including the Misbegotten. This is where he gets rid of his capacity to love in the form of Saint Trina, so the Misbegotten's probably just a part of him, which is why he drops a Miquellan incantation.

The item only runs always end up being really fun and interesting. They're also a nice change compared to those "beating the game only using this really bad/good spell/weapon" runs.

I love that even on NG+7 one Hefty Rot pot is all that is needed to Rot Radahn in phase 1, unfortunately for phase 2 it takes a lot to do it.
Fun fact: Due to Radahn doing the same move nearly every time you enter (aside from rare cases where he decides to be a weeb and edgewalks towards you for what ever reason) and his jump having quite a long window of opportunity he is very easy to hit with Aeonia which will, just by itself, kill phase 1 no matter the ng cycle.

@@JinFreeks I read this in pain as I beat the DLC for my first time yesterday, beating Radahn and completing the DLC after I finished Farum Azula but didn't even use the Haligtree Medallion. Looking back, it looks incredibly funny how the Shadowlands map is complete while a big part at the top of the Lands Between is still missing.
3 pots in phase 2 from my experience, which isn't that bad if you just dodge his grab. It doesn't seem to change whether you rotted him in phase 1 or not.
Every enemy gains more resistance to a status they've been afflicted with between rests but it's not always noticeable
I was actually excited to find out how much damage the harpoons do against Bayle and gotta say seeing the measly 692 was absolutely hilarious. Poor Igon would've never stood a chance with those.
Edit: I concur Igon would do more damage. Still very funny though
key word: HAIL of harpoons, not 5 harpoons thrown 1 at a time
If only the runner leveled Strength/Dex, since both the cheap Hefty Fire Pots and harpoons scale off those two stats, then we could've seen more than Fire Coils, nutritious rot pots and delicious fetid pots. But we did get to see Furnace Pots go wild in that NPC moshpit, and Bayle got a hype finish because of stupid Spritestones, so Faith/Arcane was pretty fun after all

This run is actually kind of unintentionally genius as your first one. By the time he killed every boss, he had their moveset DOWN. He's got everything preloaded for any future challenge runs now. He was dodging shit I didn't know was dodgeable

@@usrnm9076 I would presume he’s not just going to edit that one run for the vid, but good chance he makes it a compilation that includes the best bits from his other failed runs to truly showcase the entirety of the rando no-hit saga. Moments like the accidental roll at farum azula, mimic tear at Margit clapping Aggy using a move he made fun of not even 5 minutes prior, a Caelid bird bs montage, etc, and other funny moments deserve to be in the vid to illustrate how ridiculous an achievement that run was. One can hope!

Your original crafted items challenge is still my favorite Elden Ring challenge, and I've watched it like five times. Really looking forward to this one, but I gotta finish the DLC myself first.
I'm a bit late, but tip for the harpoons for anyone who attempts this: You can charge them by holding down the key you use to hold them. I'm unsure if it increases its damage, but it sure as hell increases the range you throw them at.
fun fact you don't need to drain the church district to get the scadu on marika's hand. i couldn't figure out how to drain it (classic ladder camoflauge) and just jumped to it but did the classic backstep instead of sprint and died (didn't realise you can hold forwards before pressing b to always sprint)
If you need to prepare a sprint without moving first, you can jump and then hold the sprint button before you land. Keep holding it and you'll start running straight away.

I like consumables only runs. Unlike certain weapon/spell only run (with some exceptions) these kinds of run forces you to almost completely change your strategy and approach to battles. And they are fun if you think of them from the boss perspective. Good run!
P. S.: dragon communion harpoons scale from strength (A) and dexterity (C). This is why their damage to Bayle was pretty low, but if you decided to pump in strength and dexterity, then perhaps they would cause much more damage.
You can also charge them which is quite interesting
I love when you stand right next to a boss and throw a hefty pot. Like you're just smashing it on their head.

It’s actually insane how much you can gather without killing a single major boss. I’m on my second run now and am following guides this time to properly do all the quests that I botched the first time. I’m already at scadu 12 and not even done. Clever fromsoft
I'm shocked by how little damage the harpoons did to Bayle. When I used them, they were taking pretty nice chunks out of him. I'm not sure, but I think I might have even landed the killing blow with a clutch harpoon.
Fire coils are so good. Even on a faith caster with several ranged spells I still use them; their tracking is amazing and they have like double the range of most ranged spells.

What I learned from this 2 very good craftables, some okay ones (like maybe the int nails could be viable?), and a bunch of garbage ones. Really fun run to watch though 😁
A lot of it also comes down to stat attribution. The Harpoons can hit pretty hard, for example, but not if you only have 20 strength and don't charge the throws.

I'm surprised you never moved your flasks to your pocket so you could free up a space on your hotbar for more items. In an item-only playthrough, that would've helped!

Aggy might be the only person in the world who played this dlc and got exicted for finding crafting recipes
I really hope this finds its way to Fromsoft and they give some of the underused crafting tools some buffs. It would be a shame to waste the 167280 crafting books in the lands of shadow.
Even if they do, you still have to farm the crafting materials if you want to use them regularly. That part will suck no matter what. They added more crafting item bellbearings, thank god, but it's still not nearly enough. People want to be fighting and progressing, not running back and forth picking up fucking butterflies for 20 minutes

Crazy how hard aggy struggled against what i thought would be one of the easiest bosses to do consumables only (Bayle). What a clutch ending to that fight
I realize Aggy is far better at this game than I could ever be, but after watching him press Down like 8 times to get back to his flask, I think he doesn’t know that whatever is first in order you can just hold Down and it goes straight to that.

For Midra, did you just not find the area, or did you find the area but not the manse? Either way it's kinda strange to me b/c either way you had an entire area with an uncharted map or you found the woods but missed the manse and assumed nothing was there?
Metyr is more fair, but also there is an entire green section on your map you would have missed b/c I'm assuming you didn't do the questline. I also assume you at least did the first finger ruins and found the church, which means you knew the questline continued since Ymir tells you.

Something I noticed when fighting the hippos is if you roll twice to either the left or right while they are charging they generally won't eat you. angle it so that the first roll is directly to the side and the second parallel to the charge and you should end up behind it with a moment to punish.
