This is SO relevant to me right now. The sub-crisis scenario, slow motion train wreck. Let's not say any more on that...
The wisdom surrounding mindset is totally on point.
Plus visioning the win. I confess it's easy to let loser imaginings take over.
Psychology estimates negative imaginings are factors stronger than positive ones, so it takes a lot of mental work to push back at pessimism.
That said, winners make their mental game a priority so it must be possible... They say in sports/military arenas often self belief is the only difference on the day, especially among a peer group at elite level.
Sorry to hear/not hear about your slow motion train wreck. Hope there’s still time to protect yourself!🙏🏻
Well said all around! I really like the idea of making dedicated time for visualizing stressful scenarios. I've heard about how professional athletes will use visualization or watch footage to engage mirror neurons in the brain and how it leads to measurable increases in performance. While it might not be super enjoyable to do all the time every second of the day, I think it would be useful for me to start imagining "how would I leave this space in an emergency?" or "how would I deal with/escape an attacker in this location?". Thank you for all the hard work that goes into producing these videos!
Yes, on all counts! It’s not just about asking WHAT would I do, but how do I want to feel? If we focus on being clear and calm, then our choice of action will likely be better. Thanks for the comment!🙏🏻
Hey, you're back!! It's great to see you. The episode is 🔥
Thank you, my friend! 😁 I don’t like making videos without having experiences to talk about first, so I’ve been busy making some memories. I look forward to sharing more ASAP! Happy training and happy life! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
There is a Buddhist saying that goes like this : We are born to die, we meet people to leave them, we own things to lose them. Everything is ephemeral. Enjoy life and martial arts while you are still walking around on this earth. 😏 It’s good to see you back Sensei.
What a perfect quote! Thank you for sharing, my friend! 🙏🏻
As always, GOLDEN ADVICE. Thank you, Sensei Ando! 🙏🏻🥋🔥
My pleasure! Thank you for watching! 🙏🏻
I really like your videos as they inspire me in my martial arts journey. I'm your fan from Kenya🇰🇪🇰🇪 big up hero..
Hello from the USA! Thank you for the kind words! 🙏🏻
Good to sea and hear you again. Many good advices 😊
Thank you for saying hello!🙏🏻
Thank you, Sensei. We now live in a very dangerous world. And knowing that can trigger more awareness of everything around you. You made a great point about finding your fighting spirit. One of my biggest fear is not being able to help someone in need. Thanks for all your advice. I will be rehearsing or thinking how I can be more helpful to someone in need.
I applaud your intention, my friend. I’d say the fact you worry about not helping means you absolutely will! 🙏🏻
Man, every time you post something. Something very similar happens to me very close to your posts. It's a beautiful thing. The universe helps those who help themselves. Thank you.
I’m very glad we’re in synch! Hope all is well! 🙏🏻
@@AndoMierzwa Last time I talked to you was a few years ago. With your help, and training videos, you gave me confidence to build my business. I am on invoice #400. It has taken off like you wouldn't believe. (IT business.) I love what I do. The hardest part is working with every day people. There are some draining ones out there. Marshall action is sometimes needed to work with them. Not often, but like you say you must be ready for it. Life is wild and fun and crazy. Thank you.
Wow! Congrats times 400! You'd probably have to deal with "every day people" no matter what you do, so at least you can do it on your own terms working for yourself. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the video sensei Ando, be careful with the cremation crew!
HA! 😄 I’m not going without a fight!🔥
I've been watching your videos for quite some time now and I like your video's about as an instructor i find them helpful in my own approach to teaching thank you sir
Happy to hear that! Keep up the good work!
Well done as always!
Thank you for the kind words! 🙏🏻
Respected ando requesting regular tutorial
Have you checked out my Self Defense Basics playlist and Home Workouts playlist? That's a good start!
I 1st found out about visualisation when i started Taekwondo, it takes 3 months to learn the basics when started i had to learn it in 2 months and doing loads of practicing at home i accidentally came across visualisation and the more i used it the better my training got, when i did my 1st grading i went through mushin (no mind) and that happened way back in 2004 and to this day i cant remember anything only that i achieved a very high pass rate.
I hope it visualization still comes in handy from time to time. It definitely helps across the board. Thanks for the comment!
Ando please do an episode on longevity , lifespan or Healthspan
Salaam from the Muslim world !
Happy Ramadan 🌙
Great idea! But I feel like I should wait until I’m 90 years old before giving advice on longevity… I mean, I could drop dead tomorrow! 😄 Peace to you! 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏼
Reacting to the start of the video - the rest still to go: I think it is not sure a person will react in emergency, some just freeze and do nothing.
Nothing is for sure, including training! Just have to do our best.
Thanks, sensei! My fear is my clavicle getting snapped in a throw down maneuver or arm twist... I can't think of how to protect for that, except to keep those arms close and tick them back in quickly... any suggestions?
I’ve separated my shoulder and broken my collarbone, so I understand that concern!😄 But like you said, good technique along with mindfulness is the best protection we’ve got. Safe training to you!👍🏼
@@AndoMierzwa Thanks! Ditto!
I'm 53 my days of fighting are pretty much over it's more about just staying healthy and pass the knowledge on to the next generation i wish i had another lifetime to keep going?
I understand! But I'll bet you've still got a lot of fight left in you! :)
That guy better hope im not in a fighting mood
Happy moods are preferred. 😁
@@AndoMierzwa what are your thoughts on the Tyson jake Paul fight?
@@morganmccoll-mh7xv I'd say Tyson's best shot is to go all out and end it early. But that's probably Jake's plan, too. Of course, I'd love to see someone from my generation win the day, but youth and enthusiasm are tough to beat! :D
I guess it's the indecisiveness what works against self-defense. OK, he's shouting: what do I do? He's approaching: should I prepare? He comes close: ooh I don't want this to end in fight! Next thing you are hit and on the ground.
I agree 100%. 👍🏼 I actually talk about this more at length in podcast #108:
