The smaller tub with perforations was probably the spinner/water extractor. It’s beautiful in copper! It’s not that old but vintage for sure. I love antique stores like that one.
@@debi909 I know! The funny thing is, back in the 70’s my mother in law in St Louis had one, portable, in white enamel. In Argentina 10 years ago the laundress that did my wash used a more primitive washer, but her spinner/centrifuge made my clothes and sheets almost dry by the time they were hung out. She would have wondered at the waste of using an electric dryer if I had not been too embarrassed to tell her that practically everyone in the US had access to one!
I believe the candle stick holder that was wrought iron in a spiral is a "Courting Candle". The parents of the girl who was being courted could raise or lower the candle's height in the holder thus changing how long it took the candle to burn down. If MORE candle showed above the holder, the more time the suitor had to court the young lady. If the parents lowered the candle in the holder, the candle would have less time to burn = less time for the young couple to spend together. I love this idea! Pre-phone alarm times!
When Andrew said he could picture two lovers talking to each other through that Egyptian window, then his mom popped her head out! His expression was priceless 🤣🤣🤣! I just realized that is the exact moment they captured for the thumbnail! 😂😂😂
Love it, fun trip when you are all together, the boys are hilarious. It's awesome seeing Mike being the one to try something on. Especially because he doesn't like touching some of the thrifted things. He was one with his inner Megan. Be blessed 💕
"Quiero ir muy mala" is what you wanted to say Megan....and so I think you were pretty on point. I am so excited for your trip to Mexico. My great-great-grandparents are from Mexico and I have never been but my grandparents have been many times and I used to love the stories they had from there. Shopping with the Knorpps, at least virtually, is my favorite thing to do....🤣🤣🤣💗 P.S: Mike in that Western get-up....pure genius...and HILARIOUS!! 🤣
That’s a spin drier on the side of the washing machine, the clothes would be spinner before hanging. They still sell the spin driers on their own in the U.K.
That was too funny at they depot and Mike pulling his hand out I'm still laughing. Thanks for sharing and as always stay safe and God bless love ya Nancy
Andrew that is a courting candle. It was put into the window. You and your beau would be outside taking until it burned down to the preset level by the parents. Then the girl must come back into the home. I have one.
@@jackiebartholomew2607 a little bit, now the soreness is setting in , can't wait to be healed, but I love to have their videos especially when life is tough, it makes it much easier to bear.
Easy spin dry I had one time. The little side is the spin out side. You had to take the clothes out of the washer and spin them in the spinner. You had to rinse them the same way. It took awhile when you had diapers.
There is a junk yard near where I live that you can go in a get parts off of the car to use on your own car. It costs $2 per person to get in but you could sit and have deep conversations if you really want. Look for a pick and pull salvage yard.
What are food prices like in the US? Since the pandemic they're creeping up alarmingly in the UK. Not like just a couple of pence per item either. Pretty concerning. I think the Food Banks are going to be busy this year!
I didn't have anything to comment on until I saw Mike in tht leather jacket!!!!! He's so very cool, strolling along in his leather and tennis shoes 👟!😉
Hi guys the washing machine is probably a twin tub in Australia we calling twin tub yes and that is called a spinner which releases all the water from the close I'm guessing that's a very very first one they made solutely wonderful find thank you for sharing that that was brilliant
You cannot bring sandwiches into Mexico, any opened packaged foods. No cheeses, dairy products that includes food with it in it. Any of your snacks must have unopened packages. So maybe make smaller snack bags for kids that if unable to finish eating can dispose on plane. Eat all sandwiches before landing. Make sure chocolate on mangos has no dairy. 👮♀️ We had all our opened snacks taken 🧐 Our Turkey jerky too!
Your painting reminds me of one of my garage sales. Someone bought a bunch of my stuff, a month later I see them at a bazar selling it for a lot more than what I charged. No biggie what they do is their business. But when I asked them the story behind it they made up some family heirloom story. Im like really because you bought this from my garage sale so at least be honest about it
I bought a candle like Andrew was holding once..& they told me that in colonial times… that the parents would put up how much candle that they considered an appropriate time and when the candle burned to that amount the beau knew it was time to leave!!😜
I've been meaning to ask...what time do you guys go to Costco??? Your vlogs show a consistently EMPTY store. If the Costco where I live was EVER that empty I might go more often. We have to use our arms as turn signals in the store and you may wait up to five minutes just to make your turn.
I don’t think I’ve stopped wearing masks this whole time.. well at least In crowded places.. it’s hides my resting.. grump face 🤣. Also I’m all about them when it’s REALLY cold out it’s like a hug for your face.
You are really good parents. The best. Very very very impressed with you both. Safe travels to Mexico and have a blast. Brad Onorato & Family, Napa, CA

Correct. We had a similar but it was white enamel
my great aunt had a washing machine like this, ,and the small tub was a spin dry, instead of a wringer..to get excess water out of the clothes..
... Yeah xD I was yelling playfully to her, *it's the spin side* Ha ...

I came on here to comment the same thing!! My parents had one in their house!
That washer was built in my hometown. I believe the smaller tub was a spinner to spin the water out of the clothes.
Do they still make them in your hometown? If not, what age do you think that washer is?
My favorite part was Mike trying on the fringed leather jacket and posing for Megan’s every request....

Ok but I need that pitchfork Asher found. Great for mulch/ cleaning stalls 🤣 they don’t make things like they use to

We have small portable washers that have a spin basket. That one probably works better. Actually the portables work pretty well.
Hello from Mexico. No you don’t say ‘muy mal’ you say. ‘Tengo mucho ganas de ir a Mexico’. Saludos desde puebla

Love your red jacket. You are cold? Friday am it was -29 in Northern Vt. Without the wind chill! Enjoy Mexico!
Travel safe guys! And enjoy the warmth
The Egyptian window looks like a confessional to me.
I loved the spool Cabnet up till the price! Expensive probably fair. Enjoying the visit.
mike was truly in his cowboy fantasy lol
That small drum on the washer was a spin dryer.
It’s fun to go antiquing with you! Thanks for taking us along!

I laughed way too hard at Andrew wanting to change his name 🤣 😂 😅 almost spit my food put

Greetings from a fan from Amsterdam!
Every time I go to an antique store, I hope to have a lot of money to buy what I like without any scruples.
What's the deal with the Protein bars? I eat them sometimes and would like to research what Mike mentioned.
The fiber can cause your bowels to work optimally lol
Trail mix is always a great snack food
Really rockin' the fringed coat!
I agree, the old navy face masks are great.
I have accidentally been there. I was on my way south and there it was. However, it was closed!

Mike, you were the best part of today's video!
That big door would be pretty as a pantry door!
Hello! I think the second one is to almost dry the clothes. God bless you
Wait until Mike runs across a Struwwelpeter book :)
I hope Mike got that black fringed jacket! It was perfect.
Thanks for the shopping trip!!💜
