    Love your videos and your book. Currently using your book to analyse my focus group data for my PhD. I was wondering what you think from an ethical standpoint about using ChatGPT for analysing PhD data? I’m aware that other PhD students will be using AI but I’m worried about not developing the skills, and also potentially not being a ‘proper’ researcher as I’ve relied on AI, rather than my own thoughts, just wondering what your opinion was about this.

      Thank you so much for using my book and watching my videos. I understand your concerns about using or depending on AI to help analyze our qualitative data. I think AI has a role play in our research journey. The most important think is to use it in an ethical way - using it to brainstorm ideas.
      Although AI tool can be useful, they are not perfect. They are capable of making mistakes. Therefore, to be able to effectively use this 'imperfect' tool, we still need to have the skill in analyzing qualitative data so that we can ask the tools the right questions and assess the quality of the output.
      AI tool can be your virtual research assistance that can suggest codes to you for your review, extract relevant information from the data saving you time, suggest themes based codes generated and sometimes show you how themes are connected.
      I hope this helps!

    Thank you so much for this amazing video! I am curious if you've tried copying all your transcripts into one reference document rather than uploading each transcript individually and rather, the quality of subsequent analysis was impacted at all. If successful, this would enable to a) 'play around with a greater amount of transcripts and b) Free up room for another reference document to be used to augment the analysis capability. Feels like a combination of clear title dividers (interview 1, interview 2, etc.) in the document and additional instructions in the prompt could do the trick, but I am curious about limitations you may have found and why you resulted in uploading the 10 transcripts instead.

      You're welcome! I haven't tried putting all in one document and uploading it. But I think your idea is great especially if you have more than 10 transcripts. Thank you for sharing!!

    Hi. Does this follow braun's rules? I have a few transcripts to review, code etc. Tried nvivo looks horrendously complicated for the short time I have

    • @drphilipadu
      @drphilipadu  7 месяцев назад

      It doesn’t completely follow Braun’s rule. However, you can view the analysis process as conducting manual coding following Braun’s steps and using ChatGPT as a complementary qualitative analysis tool to help you extract relevant excerpts from the data and generating meaningful codes and themes.

      Is it possible to "program" chatGPT to follow braun steps?

    • @drphilipadu
      @drphilipadu  7 месяцев назад

      @@SGH1812 it is possible but it may not perfectly follow the steps. The outputs may need critical review and refinement.

    How about if i put some definitions or overall information about a specific subject (like formulas) in the knowledge base, and then when i talk to my agent i upload in the chat some file containing data and say: using the knowledge base please interpret the data, would this work the way i want it?

    • @diaconescutiberiu7535
      @diaconescutiberiu7535 7 месяцев назад

      To be clear, assume a csv file with 2 columns of data, named a and b. I drag the file and say: Calculate c and interpret! What i expect from the agent is: check knowledge base, it should find the formula in one of the pdfs I've uploaded (when i configured the agent) and then look into a different pdf (also uploaded in the configuration) for some theory about how to interpret c, based on possible values

    • @drphilipadu
      @drphilipadu  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah, it could work! In this case, you want the agent to learn what has been uploaded into the knowledge base and use that it has learned to 'make sense' of the data you'll provide. This is a good strategy!!

      @drphilipadu  7 месяцев назад

      Very interesting! I haven't tried this strategy yet. I'm curious to know how it went when you tried it.
