    I fear that it seems to the hearers that the Ven's laughing means denying the power of His metta when he tells the story of the wild elephant.

    The four protective meditations are a group of meditation topics designed to establish a firm foundation for maturity in the Gospel. The four are: recollection of Jesus, meditation on the Holy Spirit, mindfulness of the Church Body, and recollection of death, then resurrection.
