Hi buddy, Yes, as long as it's a Renata, it will be fine. For some reason, the Sata's really don't tolerate other makes of battery. Maybe the initial voltage of the Renata is higher, which makes the gauge start up ok, anyway they work, cheers mate 👍

Hi pete,I enjoy u,r video,s emencly, sir I have a sata x5500 I 1.3 and am really not liking it too well, I find it's very hungry on materials, I did see a video last week on the x5500 rp, something about you got a nozzle and needle kit and converted it the spray like a x5500 I 1.2 rp cc did I understand right,if not put me in the right direction, I live in the Caribbean so any help in knowing where to locate the parts would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Hi Paul, I presume you have the X5500 I RP in 1.3 ? , the RP uses more material than HVLP but is better for clearcoat.
The Sata X5500 CC 1.3 is the same as the X5500 RP you have apart from the tip, needle, and cap. You can buy those as a set to convert your gun.
The 1.3 CC is very slow, this is because it is actually 1.15mm and your 1.3 RP is 1.35mm, it can give a very flat finish so if you aren't worried about speed then it may be what you want.

Hi Pete, great video as always mate I knew that you needed a certain battery for the Sata gun and that they are a crazy price from the manufacture I really don't know where they get their prices from so this video will be very handy for a lot of people👌
I don't know if these will fit in the WS400 digital, as you know I changed mine a while back but even though it works the display looks quite dim with little contrast on the numbers plus the battery symbol is showing low but the original did that from the day I bought the gun🤔🤷‍♂ cheers Pete👍

Hi John, I couldn't find a video that mentions the fact you can get these batteries for a few pounds and they work, it was just giving the Sata part numbers which is one hell of an expensive battery, would have cost me £100 to do my three 🥺.
I haven't needed to change the batteries in my Iwatas yet, I am thinking maybe the Renata batteries have a slightly higher initial voltage compared to others, and that is how the Sata's knows it is the correct battery, I was expecting 3.2 on a new one but got 3.29 which is a little high, maybe that is the case with the Iwatas as well?
I know they have had problems with the digital gauges, along with the chrome coming off, the gauge is the next biggest fault.
Might be worth a try. How old is it, maybe worth contacting Iwata ?
      Cheers mate 👍

It's good that people like yourself are offering an alternative way to replace the battery, I hope people watch the video so they can save themselves a good chunk of money, the prices that Sata are asking is daylight robbery😠
I remember when I first got the WS400 that the battery was showing under half but it did last nearly a year before it gave up, I cant remember the number for the battery but I will check to see if there is a Renata version🤔
My WS400 is out of warranty now mate as I got the gun in August 2022, I don't even now if the gauges are available for the gun but if they are I bet they are some silly price😬🙄🤷‍♂
      Cheers Boss👌👍

@JohnWD40TC02 I would still ask them for their opinion if it is playing up as its not acceptable on a well looked after £600 spray gun, I'm sure a gauge would be half the price of the gun.
I know they are changing any with pealing chrome no matter how old they are, so worth asking mate, cheers John 👍

I've tried cheap batteries but they don't seem to last long. U found this also? I just paid $71 aus for my sata battery 🥲

@uras1 Hi Buddy, They need to be made by Renata . You can buy these cheaply, and they are the same ones as Sata use and last just as well
