OK I thought this is something I might be able to do but thank god I watched this first 😂 Imma tow my Escape to the mechanic down the street tomorrow lol
I mean they made it hard to change the battery so I didn't have much faith in the alternator😂. Took me 35 minutes to do the battery last night. Then to change the cabin air filter took me another 15 minutes.
DIY here your video is great but I googled this anti rotation bolt and can't find a single thing. Only thing I know that restricts the engine and tyranny is the torque mount. I don't believe your talking about that. Any more idea where o can find this? Thank you
@@shanecoon6895 runs for a few mins, then the car feels like it's going into neutral and I can rev the engine in drive. Have a 2016 escape also. Ford dealer said the alternator was overcharging and is bad, and that can cause the car to go into "limp" mode
@@shanecoon6895 I also thought it was trans but the guy said the alternator over charging could get the system haywire supposedly that’s why it could drive a bit then stop working, Fords are just trouble, why is an alternator so come plicares to get too
@@DougOrDouglas that could be a possibility. Honestly the alternator job was not that bad. Take your time. Dont cut any steps and allow at least 5-6 hours.
My ford started malfunctioning and I thought it was the current battery sensor because when I first tested the alternator it was okay. Now that I changed the sensor and tested it again, it definitely is the alternator. I’m so sad that I have to take it apart.
I don't know what ford was thinking with this design honestly. The alternator is the one component that is likely to go out and they should've made it more accessible!!! I have the 2.0 and I am hesitant to even touch it

Lol, same here bro
It really was not that bad

Amen. I like my shadetree tools as much as the next guy, but this seems like too much of a pain in the ass.
Had to do the same. Cost a lot
Would of been nice to see how you got that water bottle clip off on the back. Mine is a pain. Thanks for the video
When you take the ac compressor off do you actually disconnect the lines? Or can it just be slightly, shifted move?
No

More light may be helpful when making the video
Is there only the one motor mount?
did the car have any symtoms? for bad alternator? like car stop driving
It will just die and not start back up without a jump start. What is yours doing

@@DougOrDouglas man sounds like transmission but hard to tell. Keep me posted though. Good luck brother

RUclipsrs who do not show their work get a thumbs down
I usually drop the passenger side motor on escapes, fun they be...
F’ing Escape dude, need to take off half the car to get to what you need to change…

1/4" (not 6mm) socket on the bolt end
I think that’s the coolant reservoir not the washer bottle? Just checking I’m doing this job today ,
you removed the coolant resevour not wiper fluid resevior this guya a clown
Useless!
Waste of my time didn't learn nothing

Exactly!! Dude it was a job for sure. Thankfully I have a lift in my garage.
@@shanecoon6895 it took me 10 hours with out a lift. But I did it! Running like a champ again !
Did you see where they put the battery...
