It was well written, but the third one ticked me off when they went full shaky-cam.
It went from trying to add gritty realism in the fights to just being annoying.
There was an extended fight sequence where (if I had missed the scene leading into the fight) it was impossible to tell who was fighting or any of the moves they were doing. Maybe the director had stuntman who didn't look anything like Matt Damon, and was trying to avoid having to film around that. They could have been standing still making grunting noises, and I wouldn't have known due to the excessive shaky cam.

Funny you should mention wanting to see a movie where they need to be disguised. In the book series by Robert Ludlum, Jason Bourne is called "The Chameleon". He can blend in and disguise himself anywhere in the world. That said... the books tell a very different story. Same names, some of the same places. But different. A rare scenario where you can't really compare the books to the movies... they're both good if you like spy thrillers.

Two classic crime films that have graet car chases are _Bullitt_ (1968) starring Steve McQueen, which was filmed in San Francisco so you can imagine, and _The French Connection_ (1971) starring Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider, which was filmed in New York and is based on a true story.
_The French Connection_ won five Oscars: Best Picture; Best Actor (Gene Hackman); Best Director (William Friedkin); Best Adapted Screenplay; and Best Film Editing.
_Bullitt_ won one Oscar: Best Film Editing.
Ward Bennett was played by the wonderful Scottish actor, Brian Cox. Among his hundreds of credits he was in two charming comedy mini-series set in Scotland: _Bob Servant, Independent_ (2013); and _Bob Servant_ (2014).

I worked at a small hotel and our phone was positioned below the counter to the point it was impossible to see the display from the other side of the counter.
Instead, you call in from an outside line and tell the desk you need a rollaway bed sent up bu you can't remember your room number. Then tell them they can just leave it outside the door because you'll be there in about 15 minutes. It sounds like a stupid thing to forget, but from my time at the hotel. about half the people asking for things at the desk had no idea what their room number was. If they tell you, you still verify it with the name, because they will tell you with 100% confidence that they are in room 219, which the hotel doesn't even have.

With you being bored of car chases, it's like my wife with sci-fi movies. Any time it's showing ships doing something or shooting at each other, she gets bored in about 3.05 seconds and starts saying, "Flying through space, flying through space, flying through space..."
I like those moments where they think they're a step ahead of Bourne but he's really two steps ahead of them, like the "She's standing right next to you." and "You look tired, Pam." My favorite one of those in this entire series is in the next movie, The Bourne Ultimatum.
As to the series, after Bourne Ultimatum in 2007, there is The Bourne Legacy in 2012, but it's a little different. They are branching out, where they show that Jason Bourne wasn't the only one, so instead of Matt Damon, it has Jeremy Renner as another agent like him. And then it does get back to Matt Damon in 2016 with a movie just titled Jason Bourne.

What set this apart at the time was it was a spy thriller without gadgets, super villains with world domination as the goal, and really government workers doing a job and not really understanding what rich people were doing. Jason doesn't kill 3 guys with a pencil, he does it with a rolled up magazine, a book, a pen, a cord, a toaster, etc. or just his bare hands. John's good, but Jason's, as tony The Tiger says, He's Grrr-e-aaat !!!
Now, DM, NO (!!!), in jail is the PERFECT place for an assassination ... so he doesn't want to do that ...not even for a moment.

In the books Bourne is known as the chameleon. his ability to blend in to any location is the biggest edge he has against his opponents. Sometimes they are slightly elaborate but most of the time it can be as simple as ball caps.

Him blowing up the room by igniting the gas with the toaster is legit. There is one problem. Bombs have their power rated by how many KG of explosives they contain. If you blow the gas in a house like that there is very little actual weight. Very good chance it won't even break the windows in the house. (that shot was filmed with a building or model full of actual explosives)

As other commenters already mentioned, there are more than 3 movies in the series but the 4th is kind of a reboot with a new Treadstone operative (Jason Bourne is mentioned though). I never saw the 5th movie.

Great video! Mad Dog Dawn learning spy craft; we should all be afraid. I think one reason you might've liked this one better, was that you knew the main character, they didn't have to explain everything like in the first one. Lifting a fingerprint from one place and then planting it somewhere else is possible, but not easy. There are 3 more Bourne movies. It goes one with Matt Damon, then one without Matt Damon, a different main character, but in the Bourne universe, then Matt Damon comes back for one more. Hopefully that made sense. They're all good. Apparently, Matt is thinking of doing one more before he's too old. Glad you're enjoying them. After you finish Bourne, you can start Mission Impossible. On to the next one!

"You guys give him what he's trying to remember and he'll play nice with you." Not too shabby thinking there. I've seen this before and you were smarter than the writers with that comment. Give a carrot to a bunny and you can just put it in a cage peacefully. Run after it and you'll be digging in holes looking for it all day.

There are really 5 movies in the entire series. The first 3 including the next one The Bourne Ultimatum, then there is The Bourne Legacy which only alludes to Jason, and stars Jeramy Renner and is a good flick and gives some more answers, then there is Bourne, the last one and it’s got Jason back and is also a good movie.

In the books, Marie does not die, at least not this early. She lasts much, much longer. "She's standing right next to you" is probably the most classic line in this movie, maybe the whole series. At the end when you said, "If I was Pamela, I would assume that I was always being watched", it made me think of the movie "The Mother", starring Jennifer Lopez. It's a newer, excellent movie that maybe you react to. For anyone that read the books, we already knew his name was David Webb. He is also a professor at a university. I think they never go to Missouri. Plus, the guy that kills himself, also does not die in the books. In fact, he eventually helps Jason out on a mission. FYI, the books are way better than the movies.

Dawn, great reaction even though you’re somewhat confused most of the time. I’ve watched all these films so many times and I understand why you think this was better than the first one, the good news is that I think that each one is better than the previous one, with the possible exception of the fifth and final one. No spoilers, but your assumptions are wrong for the plot of the next film, it’s way better than that and I’m looking forward to seeing your reaction.
