Ok, the woman who starts singing is Moses's sister Miriam who was the first one to tell him who he really was and who seems to have put all her hope into the belief that he was saved to be their deliverer in order to cope with her life as a slave. The woman who joins in later is his with Tzipporah - she knew him first when he was at his worst (personality and action wise) and grew to love him when she saw he wanted to change and is sticking with him though she may never see her father and sisters again. And the man with the beard who put his hand on his shoulder is his brother Aaron with whom he's had a difficult relationship as Aaron resented him for a long time for various reasons and has become a bitter, broken, and frightened man as a result of having lived as a slave, so that moment between them at 4:16 says a lot.

For this version of the song, it wasn't Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston; it was Michelle Pfeiffer and Sally Dworsky. In my personal opinion, I like this version better because it has a much higher affect with the choir corporating. Steven Schwartz, the movie's music composer, did an amazing job with this song.
