Western Region Locomotives in the 1960s

A short compliation of diesel, and gas-turbine engines to be found across the Western Region in the 1960s including shots taken at Swindon of locomotive 18100. Other locomotives include Class 52 'Westerns', Class 35 Hymeks, Warships and more.

Nice shot of D809 Champion. I recall that one dumped at Old Oak Common around the back of the old carriage sheds for a few years in the early 70's before it was finally extracted to meet its fate.

Remember the Blue Pullman well. When I saw it pass through Dorridge I knew school dinner time was near, lol. Week ends snd holidsys used to go to Bentley Heath crossing just to see it sometimes.

Caradoc was the first diesel I ever encountered. It was at Did cot when I was travelling home to Bristol.
