Gorgeous ride....I'm envious. You Bastard! Surprised you didn't add "Mendocino" (1978) by the Sir Douglas Quintet to your soundtrack. I too am "going walkabout" on the mighty 650XT on Wednesday. Getting off Vancouver Island for the first time in about 6 months and doing a loop through southern BC. Planning on about 10 days...woohoo.
Hello from Australia, are you still happy with the Vstrom 650 or do you wish you had kept your Vstrom 1000, I am looking at buying one and like the MPG the 650 gets and it seems like in Australia they are phasing out 98 and 95 octane and only going to be selling 91 octane and the 10% Etho based fuel, I talked with a Suzuki rep and he advise that the 1050 bike was not suited to the lower octane and Ethol based fuels just love the big 1050 though and they are a great price in Australia. With your 1000 what fuel did you run and also what do you run in your 650 I enjoy your vids always entertaining thanks
The deciding factor I tell people when choosing the 1000/1050 or 650 is the size of the person. If you are over 6' tall you will be more happy on the 1000/1050. In California the highest octane we have is 91 and thats what I run in all of the motorcycles that I have owned.
I bought my first motorcycle 2 months ago. It's the same model and colour as yours. So jealous of the beautiful roads in your area. I live in The Netherlands so it's just flat and boring.
A fantastic vidio sir thank you bmw envey ? I have k1600 exclusive with semi active suspension it is very good but its a lott of wonga and complex and heavy your wee strom seams a propper tool for those roads and good mpg super important in blighty with rip of petrol prices stay happy and safe from uk

Yes the best thing about the suzuki is I can leave it in the parking lot of the hotel and it will still be there in the morning. BMW maybe not.
