@Super_GT Have to say, it feels a bit emotional having GT Sport quietly bumped off in a dark alleyway around the back of Polyphony. But as you say, it was always a stopgap until GT7 came along and that in itself has done a fine job. The future is bright for GT, methinks.
If I may, I have a question for you regarding GT7 & PSVR2. Since getting mine just before Xmas, I find it almost impossible to play GT7 without it. I know you've tried it and love it, but am curious as to how you find transitioning between screen and VR. For me, a GT player since the first game, VR was where I finally found my feet (or should that be wheels?).
I'm getting on a bit (mid-50s, family, etc.) and don't have the luxury of setting up a permanent cockpit, whipping the GT Omega stand out every time I want to play, I have never been able to avail myself of a decent screen based rig. That's why VR has made such a difference to me.
Apologies for the ramble. Maybe you could do a video on this topic? I, for one, would be very keen to hear your views. Thanks for the great content!

Remember when GT Sport got fucking REAMED for supposedly not being a "real GT game"?
The amount of innovation PD did with Sport is probably singlehandedly responsible for the ridiculous gap in quality between GT7 and Forza Motorsport 8. It's one of the most important games in the entire franchise.
It's brilliant that PD have allowed Sport to exist as an offline game at the end of its life, but the best way to honor Sport would be to improve on what it created. GT7 doesn't do enough of that, which is its biggest problem.

Definitely the same thing here! I finally felt like I was escaping this whole "mess" that was striking my mental health down hard as hell, not to mention I even graduated from high school the year Covid started (yep, I'll let you imagine how it felt like). I had so much fun with this game, and with it came many great moments: from winning 10 races in Sport mode, to drifting cars, and even recording cheesy videos of my cars in replay mode and uploading them online with music edited in.

As Death said: I am sadness.
I do have issues with the career mode, but…
As to the physics, spot on for me as a casual player, dayjobber. Difficult enough to have to know what you’re doing, not so difficult that you have to be top notch to just get into it.
And with gts we got the liveries and the scapes and all that. It was like a hippie artschool in ‘68, we were all over it, every one a creator.
With the lockdowns I got into the dailies. I wasn’t any good in gt6, since there were no ratings I never took notice. In gts I had to get better. I did. Still not very good but I did improve a lot.
The sense of online community there was in gt6 online shifted from racing to posting artworks in gts, but not wholly so. Yt exploded with channels on racing technique.
But now, with gt7? Oh… er… life is back to ‘normal’, office life certainly is if you believe your employer’s directives. It’s not, but you have to comply at some level at least.
I won’t say it was 100% for the game itself, circumstances helped, but it was a GOOD time. I’ll remember and cherish it for my whole life.

On that occasion he set a time with the porsche lmp1 gr1 car on dragon trail, and it was so fast that i never could beat him. we went for hours trying to set times...

I had played Gran Turismo since the first game, and the only one I missed out as 6 as that came out on the PS3 after the PS4 launched, so I really was not gonna be buying anymore PS3 games.
When Sport released I initially had both it and Project Cars 2 preordered, both in collectors edition form but they were both due out within weeks of each other and knew I would cancel one of the two preorders. As I really liked the first PC and 2 was coming out just before GT Sport, I decided to cancel GT.
A month later I sold PC2 and bought GTS, and there was no looking back.
I probably found your channel late 2017 or early 2018, as I was looking for some GT content and yours was the first channel I stumbled on. All I can say about the timing is it was before you moved to a wheel as I do remember the first video you did when you switched.
I would not say it's the most difficult platinum to get on PlayStation as there are far more difficult ones out there, but it most certainly is one of the longest to achieve. I think I got it a few months before you. GTS took years, GT7 a matter of months. Sadly I lost access to my old account because of GTS (uploading a decal of deWalt which is apparently too much for Sony to handle), so have started again and nearly got the GT7 plat again (mostly just waiting on two of the three legendary cars and the 100 scapes trophies), but sadly I will never get that GTS trophy because you cant get several years worth of grinding in only a couple of months.
    Keep up the good work.

I remember seeing Jimmy's video when his wheel broke. And I remember watching your videos as a young teenager wishing I owned an Xbox so that I too could partake in Forza. That was like a literal decade ago. To see the growth, and the expansion of these channels has been such a pleasure. I truly think it's remarkable that we live in a time where you can watch someone grow, and watch someone rise to fame the way we've all seen you do. To see your favorite Forza RUclipsr turn into an actual freakin' racin driver!! Just remarkable. I grew up watching your channel and I'm glad that I now have so many people to share it with. My friends actually know wtf I'm talking about now lol.
TLDR, thanks man. Your channel means a lot to me, and I hope to see you continue to grow in the future.

I am absolutely gutted. Found this video after frantically looking for some help. This was the first video I’ve watched of yours. Glad to see so many ppl sad like me. I was uploading photos and liveries as recent as few days ago. Gone. Like tears in the rain.

You doing that race to get the Platinum trophy inspired me to also do it. Only difference was I didn't play online nearly as much as you obviously, so I then had to grind for 91 online wins, which I did. Finally then, I had to reset my save to get the oval tracks trophy and after I got the platinum trophy and realized my backup didn't save proper, I uninstalled. Loved racing the game and you are definitely the reason I got it. Sad to see it go.

And thanks to you to SuperGt for inspiring me to go back to the GT series after i had enough of it after GT6,
Forza was a great series for years, then GTS came on the scene and it was a lot of glorious years of sim racing again.
Gran Turismo Sport will be missed for what it was.

GT Sport was very special to me. After first getting it in 2018, i wasn't really feeling it because it was alot more competition focused which i wasn't into at the time. Going to the 2019 GT World Tour in NYC and seeing the competition that high was amazing. I even met you there and shook your hand and took a picture of you and my friend. I feel that entire weekend was the moment where i was willing to give this another shot with new eyes and interest. Getting my first wheel in 2020 was where i REALLY got hooked with this game and it became such an escape for me with so much going on in my personal life. I would just put on my gloves and go to Sport mode and just drive. Drive to learn, drive to compete as best i could, and drive to have fun. I'll miss this game dearly 😢

GT Sport was the first racing game that I needed to hone my race craft against real people. I never got the chance to play it with a wheel but on the DualShock 4 it was incredible feeling at the time especially the gyro controls. My dad loved watching my race and seeing all the mistakes and improvements I made. I was always a Gran Turismo kid growing up with GT Prologue HD 5 whatever it wants to be called. This franchise is so consistent it hurts to see the likes of Forza go down the drain. Watching a ton of your videos really was fun and now I get to repeat all of that and then some with GT7. Someday when I get the Thrustmaster T300 servo I'd love to race against you and other top players. Farewell GT Sport you where the GOAT game during lockdown.

I started from GT5P in 2008 with a G25 wheel, but never got too serious with it and subsequent GT5 and GT6. But for some reason, when I got GT Sport in 2018… I got a lot more committed but (for family reasons) I have been 100% happy on a controller with motion steering. Still remember my “first race” in a BMW M4 at Dragon Trail - the controller experience was overall so brilliant that I think it’s better than my G25 wheel days with GT5P/5/6. I only bought GT7 upon the end of GT Sport, and I just might be able to go back to a direct drive Fanetec wheel like you. Cheers mate!

I finally decided to get a PS4 in March in 2021 as a bday gift, the PS5 was still scarce for me at the time. And, I also got a copy of GT Sport, GTA V (never actually played due to fear of getting caught by parents, yes it sounds ridiculous but my PS4 is connected downstairs and my family perceives these types of content differently) and a copy of WRC 7. This was one of the first modern-day games I got to afford and play during its prime, including Forza Horizon 4 which I got a couple months earlier at the time. I kid you not, I was HOOKED! It was one of my only forms of escaping this harsh reality that was "Covid", and I'll never forget the moments that I will always cherish to this day, whether it be drifting cars, winning online in Sport mode, driving the Nurburgring Nordschleife (personal favorite track of all time), taking photos, and even recording dumb little edits of my cars in replay mode with music.
Thank you, Kaz, for cementing this hell of a game🙏

Ah man....admittedly it's been a while since I played GT Sport, but I am gonna miss it! This is a sad day.
When it came out me and my friends had a ton of fun on it for months on end. We played it pretty much every day, competing against each other to see who could set the fastest quali times in the daily races, and then messing together about in lobbies at the end of the night after we'd all finished competing in our Manufacturers and Nations Cup races. I spent well over 1000 hours on the game, and I absolutely loved it.
It often got a lot of stick for not being a 'proper' Gran Turismo game, but for me it is probably my favorite one, if nothing else, for the memories I have of it! It was the first racing game I'd played online, competitively, and it was a great experience. I had so many great battles and epic races on there.....
Rest In Peace Gran Turismo Sport. You will be missed old friend!

I followed a similar story, played games like grid and burnout, midnight club and etc growing up, but GT sport really got me into sim racing and got me to buy a wheel, and since then it's been nonstop on assetto Corsa since this game has shut down, I spent TOO MANY hours in this game and had the tuning and driving down to a science, no other game has matched the freedom with vehicle adjustments and tuning yet (that I've gotten to play) and it's disappointing cuz GT7 has an install issue where after it downloads it's stuck in the trial installation mode and I can't fix it :(

I wasn’t particularly good, I didn’t have a wheel but my love for this game was truly unmatched and I only realized it now. As they said you only value something once you lose it the game died just way too soon in my eyes. But it is what it is, so farewell GT Sport believe me I’ll remember you and all those times the same way I remember my memories playing gt6 as a kid. This game truly gon miss me.
