Not only that, the two artificial islands way out of the mainland China into the ocean. I hope to be able to see a documentary of this whole project where I can put my questions to rest. Just finished watching it..I actually watched the video of the official opening this morning and am absolutely amazed at this engineering marvel! If the US ever decides to upgrade...or even fix, our outdated infrastructure, I hope they’ll request some of the brilliant Chinese engineers as consultants! Yet another place to add to my list when I’m able to join my Son over there for an extended visit! Every day, I see, hear and learn more about your beautiful country and understand why my Son was so obsessed with returning there to live and work. Congratulations for a job VERY well done!
Unfortunately we're too busy spending money on military complex bull crap instead of strengthening our infrastructure schools and Healthcare System which is the main core of this Great Society of ours in the last decade our military spending had quadrupled, trillions upon trillions of dollars!! I'm not an anti military person in any shape or form I myself did eight years in the "US Military" but let's be honest we spent more money on the military then the whole world combined, and some? it's just outrageous!!

A normal bridge in Europe generally isn't built to withstand numerous tropical typhoons every year. At least I don't think they have comparable tropical strength of typhoons in Scandinavia I think. 🤔

The Lake Pontachtrain Causeway is 23.8 miles long but you are correct with no tunnels or artificial islands. There is also the Chesapeake Bay tunnel bridge which is about 17 miles long that this bridge reminds me of it has several artificial islands and tunnels on it also.

Us citizens live in a developed country, China is still a developing country. Some Chinese still eat dog meat and that's deplorable, many Americans gorge themselves on meat and greasy food and are grossly obese, 40 million Americans are still living in poverty , 2 millions do not have access to running water. just to put things in perspective.

Wow! What an awesome, informative video! The bridge & tunnel are fantastic! I've crossed the Lake Pontchartrain Bridge in Louisiana, USA & I believe it is just over 28 miles long...with no tunnel. Thanks for sharing!
The Lake Pontachtrain Causeway is 23.8 miles long but you are correct with no tunnels or artificial islands. There is also the Chesapeake Bay tunnel bridge which is about 17 miles long that this bridge reminds me of it has several artificial islands and tunnels on it also.
