    This is how we did it in 1989 with 4 tone trailers. One of them was a Weeks the same as the one in the video.That was bought about 1978? Silage took forever but it was great fun. We used A Class Jaguar 60 with a ford 7600.

    That is how we used to do it in 1989 with 4 tone trailers. We had a Weeks trailer, the same as in the vid. That was bought new about 1979?. We had a Class Jag 60. It was great fun making silage then but it did take forever! Good vid.

    ahh yes i love too see old setups working across tyhe country, this is an 15acer feild and it took 2days too harvest it! was the ford 7600 a good trator, i love old fords like that

    Loved making silage years ago. It was fun then now it's just sad seeing such large kit employing so few people.

    Its a dying tradition making silage the old way. And bet the driver own this outfit. banks own most of the modern outfits. Loved video keep up the good work.

    15 acres, 2 days sounds about right. Not far off an acre an hour in a heavy first cut. A light second cut, perhaps just over 2 acres an hour. Ford 7600 4 WD, it was ok but got expencive on parts. Towards the end there was always something wrong with it, so it was sold for export.

    @Dal3C Thanks, and there is something much nicer about using an traditional set up rather than getting the contractors in!
    I don't really use this channel much, and only check it really every other week. My new channel is called: friesiancowboy
