And just a note from a fan, DJ. There are a few videos especially by Pentatonix (Penn-Tah-Tah-Nix :) ) and Home Free and others where reacters have cut the video off, because there's a quiet/dark part NEAR, not AT, the end.
The audience/commenters can always, of course, let the reacter know afterward, but by then, it's usually too late.
Imagine, by Pentatonix is one such video, and there are others.

Scott Porter used to be the beatboxer for the group. He left to pursue an acting carrier. Then Layne stepped up and Geoff taught him how. Arrangement - Video - Layne Stein at Patty Cake Productions. You might enjoy Voiceplay's Road Trip, it is from a long time ago, with a young Geoff (short hair and a bowtie, very nerdy!) and with Earl (his voice will certainly surprise you!) who left Voiceplay a few years ago. And Layne's singing solo will have you holding on to your chair! Tony Wakim who also has left the group is in the front seat next to Eli (he and Layne co-own Pattycake Productions Studio where Geoff and Voiceplay do all their recordings, and Tony is still often involved with behind the scenes work). Scott Porter is a one time member of VoicePlay, early on, when I think he was the beatboxer, but left to pursue an acting career. VoicePlay choose their guests very carefully for both voice, character and of course availability, for each video. Most appear a number of times, and they're all good friends so are well used to working together. Either of Geoff or Layne - check the credits to be sure. They always give full credits, often with humorous comments. so always worth checking. Thank you for not comparing groups. I hate that. It's Pentatonix - break it up into Penta tonix and it's easy :) The name refers to five (pent) - you may have heard of a pentagram, five pointed star - and tones.

Scott was one of the original members from high school. Then ran off to Hollywood and has had quite a career there. He was in Lucifer Season 6, Friday Night Lights. Since Halo is something that you love, check out one of my favorite reactors/analysts, The Charismatic Voice. You should have seen her dressed for Dragonborn Comes, but for the Halo theme she brought on Marty O'Donnell the composer that did the original Halo theme and the two of them had a great time discussing VoicePlay. Marty was thrilled with how VP did this. It was great fun. If you react to Boy Bands in 5 Minutes, the guys are singing and standing around a glowing trash can when Rek comes by with a sub sandwich that he hands to Earl (another original member who left the group a couple of years ago for personal reasons). Road Trip was from the Sing-Off days - make sure you get the one with 9 million views! Best video and sound. React to any VoicePlay, there are no duds. Warriors is terrific and follow it up with Dream On (Geoff calls it Warriors 2),

Wonderful reaction once again - Some of the things that drew me to watch reactions in the first place was the genuine and heartfelt emotions, how sometimes things are pointed out that I didn't even hear the first 50 times I listened and technical information about music or the songs that are covered. It feels like sharing a song with a friend hoping they'll like it and being overjoyed when they have the same mindblown expressions I had when I first listened!
    About the Halo video:
Geoff reached a B0 subharmonic in this, it's *insane*! Some others have mentioned The Charismatic Voice's reaction as she did it with Marty O'Donnell, and I highly recommend it too! They talk some technical music theory terms at times, but he genuinely seems so excited and happy about the cover.
As for VoicePlay and you discovering them - You've learned their names and unique pronunciations a lot faster than a lot of reactors I've watched! A lot of people take a long time picking up on how Eli is pronounced, so you are ahead of the curve!
The message at the end is so sweet and heartfelt and gets me tearing up too. I know you've mentioned "Boybands in 5 minutes" coming up at some point and I wanted to say Rek makes a brief cameo in it. If you have access to the tier on patreon, you should definitely check out the Behind The Scenes videos after you've reacted to a song - It gives nice insight, but for this in particular it gives insight to how a very emotional and beautiful tribute was still a fun process for them with a lot of laughter and banter. I feel like they do everything with their heart and give it 100%, and it makes for some truly beautiful moments.
You asked for suggestions, so I will say that I am equally as excited for Boybands medley as I am for Nothing Else Matters - Boybands medley is pure fun and chaos, while NEM is raw power and emotion. Both are arranged by Geoff and that encapsulates his range (vocal and arrangement-wise) pretty well I'd say! Others that I would recommend are "Hoist the Colours", "Dream On", "Mermaid Medley" and "Good 4 U". Really, you can react to any one of them and I think the fans would be pleased regardless! For Geoff's videos I'd highly recommend "Ghost Riders" or "Ain't No Sunshine".
You can always check the description for who arranged the song and who produced the video and who did what in the behind the scenes! Usually it's split between Geoff and Layne for video and arrangements (sometimes Eli or Rob Dietz for arrangements), Eli does the lighting and they often employ Rick Underwood for detailed / intricate makeup. The description always goes in depth with what each person did. This one (Halo) was arranged by Layne and the "Red team vs blue team" moment is a nod to Scott and Layne being the two beatboxers 'battling it out'.
(Regarding the Big Acapella Band - PEN-ta-TON-ix ;) It comes from the pentatonic scale, so if you need a helpful pronunciation you can look that up!)
Like others have said, Scott used to be the original vocal percussionist and Layne used to be the baritone singer, but when Scott left Layne took over the vocal percussion role. They then brought in Tony as the baritone, who later started PattyCake Productions studio with Layne. VoicePlay (and Geoff) film a LOT of their music in PCP and get a lot of behind the scenes help from Tony still. If you're into disney music I highly recommend PCP's "Tough Love", "It's not over yet" or "All I ever wanted" - They're all original songs that are part of a series called "Villain's Lair" and Layne and Tony *nail* the Disney villain vibes!
PS - If you ever crave some VoicePlay knowledge, Huldra Draco makes some amazing informational videos about them! Or of course, ask away in the discord and we'll try to answer but I can't promise we won't give conflicting answers. And sorry for my long comments!

Pentatonix. Pen-tah-TAWN-icks. Primary accent on the 3rd syllable, secondary accent on the 1st syllable. Based on the Greek "Penta", meaning 5 (same base as the Pentagon in Washington, DC, USA). Also a word-play on the pentatonic scale, a 5-note scale often used in jazz and pop music.
So glad you watched the outro! So many reactors seem to skip it, but it adds a real background and history touch to the entire video and the group itself. And makes all of the members even more human than just seeing them in the videos.

Yes. Like this last one is the second one cause nobody on Patreon cared for the first. Believe me. It's so much better. Same song. Different concept. Geoff's wife Kathy is in the new version. If you want to react from there like some other reactors do, then wait until they announce the RUclips premiere. That will be the final video. Same with Geoff.

They stated very clearly on the first video that it was an unfinished version that still had to have story elements added to it. You might check out some of VoicePlay's minis. They do a lot of theme songs with no or few words and they're incredible. I like the Horror movie one best. The creator of this theme did an awesome interview with The Charismatic Voice while they watched VP's version. Great interview. VoicePlay was orginally 4:2:Five and Scott was the original beat boxer. I suggest watching the Billie Ilish medley followed immediately by Panic! parts one and two. Together they tell a story. If you want to hear Geoff and Layne go off the rails see Friends On the Other Side--the last bit will blow your mind and your headphones if they're on too loud.

You're swiftly becoming one of my favourite Voiceplay reactors!
You might be interested to know that the composer of the original 'Halo' score also reacted to this (and loved it - his video is on RUclips somewhere.) And he was the one who did those original vocalisations - he said he just made some random noises off the top of his head, which is why he was so impressed with the accuracy of Cesar's vocalisations. Glad you listened to te end to get the backstory too - it's worth it. It shows their gamer backgrounds, Scott's connection to the group and a beautiful tribute to a fallen friend.
You've got so much more Voiceplay awesomeness to look forward to, and I'm here for it!

All the collaborators they picked over the years fit really well with the group, like Rachel Potter, Omar Cardona, Deejay Young, John Pinto, Adriana Arellano, Emoni, Elizabeth Garozzo, Ashley Diane, just to name a few. Scott was originally the beatboxer (and Layne the baritone) but left in 2003 to pursue his acting career (Friday Night Lights, Hart of Dixie, Lucifer, Ginny & Georgia).

Been enjoying your Voiceplay and Geoff reactions very much. Glad you watched the end of this one, it's a really special tribute for sure. Everyone gave you the Pentatonix group name, but to help you out think of how you would pronounce Pentagram but with tonix (kind of like tonic, but with the x) as the end instead of gram. It's based off of a music scale, called the Pentatonic scale (basically a 5-note scale). Hopefully, that will help you with remembering their name. :) Looking forward to what else you react to from these guys, you really can't go wrong with anything from Geoff or Voiceplay!
