Jani was incredibly talented in many events. If my memory is correct I believe he held the Finnish record at some point in at least ten different events short course meters and perhaps even a half dozen in long course meters. I had the opportunity to race him in a couple of events in Sweden in '98, I remember he out touched me in the 100 free and telling him, "It won't be so easy in the 50." I didn't lie. 😉
