A lot of respect, considering Tolkien literally wrote about a branch of Hobbits called Harfoots who are described as having brown/dark skin.
Agreed, some Hobbits were described as having a ruddy brown complexion, but not black - what do you expect though, this is 2024 and nothing is sacred

As appealing as this game is to me,cant help feel it should have orc raiding parties coming into to it and would need to defend.

After launch, they should make a DLC called Tales of Mordor where you play as an orc, birthing uruks, training trolls, forging weapons and armor, feeding wargs, making maggoty bread, etc.

Uruks are a mix breed of orcs and humans, bred by Saruman in a failed coup attempt to overthrow Sauron when the time is ripe. They would not exist at any time prior, nor have they ever been to Mordor after.

I'm hoping, for ultimate immersion, Gandalf will appear an hour in and the game turns into a brutal survival RPG as you're forced to travel to Mordor to save the world

@@chaostyr From reading the books, it was my understanding the Hobbits were too dense to swim. XD Apparently, some can. So, who knows if they will allow swimming in this game or not.
I’d love to see a trend of non-combat focused games that let you just enjoy the world of some these beloved franchises. Maybe something like a wand-making business sim in Harry Potter or running a cantina in Star Wars. There’s a lot more to these worlds than just action-adventure combat games can explore.
Reminds me of the time someone made up the concept for a Star Wars game where you play as Dexter (the four armed guy running the diner) and you get to make wacky Star Wars food for clones, bounty hunters like Cad Bane, Jedi, ect.
@@symbiotesoda1148 Reminds me of V4ll Hall-A, that'd be amazing in a Star Wars setting. You could serve drinks and cook and mix cocktails and stuff, while your guests are people from that era talking to you about what's going on in the world. Like, a clone trooper always visiting you since he's stationed there, and coming back many weeks later after his traumatising battle, with hints of him developing more human feelings and individualism etc., a CIS agent, an undercover jedi, a hater of the jedi order, a Coruscant politician, a bounty hunter or whatever. Much fun potential

Liking the artstyle but it looks a bit rough. Lighting and shadows cd have been more advanced.
It's probably still in early alpha so they should have plenty of time to streamline the graphics before the actual release

Why are the hobbits black?
Because they're Harfoots. Per Tolkien, who created them, they are a branch of Hobbits who are known for having brown/dark skin and they're also Nomadic. He talks about them in the preface of LOTR and also a few other publications.
The harfoots were not black. They just had browner features, like brown hair and tan skin. They were still white

If there are black hobbits, then their obviously must be some sort of Hobbit Africa. This raises an important question: Was the Shire involved in hobbit slave trading?

The graphics are awful.
Its not THE Lord of the Rings we are waiting for BUT its a game that deserves to exist. It looks cute and im sure people will love it. There is definitely an audience for games like this.

Lord of the rings Online holds up, and you can do most story quests Solo! It's really fun!
