Probably a little late on this but, when your fridge does that you need to clear all that ice, clear the ventilation holes, then set it to 32F. Never block the ventilation or it will happen again

to fix your mini fridge. try keeping it off to melt all the ice then start it up at the hottest setting then turn it down a little at a time. if its still freezing up then check the gasket on the door. if the gaskets ok then its the thermostat itself and basically time for a new fridge unless you can ghetto rig the thing to keep a constant temp. a cheep outlet timer set to go on and off every half hour works ok too keep temp sometimes.

Raise the temp of the fridge its because its so cold cause the metal absorbs the cold so it makes it much colder than what the fridges temp is also remove the ice cause it will cause a vacuum to where the fridges cooling holes are
