I did know that the alcohol worked for reviving markers, but it is always good to watch someone try it on their pens first! Another tip, you can revive your water based makers with water and glycerol (probably about 10% glycerol). I've done it with some Stabilo markers. I tried pulling the nibs out but often it can be better to unstopper the other end. I did have a few mishaps, but if the other alternative was to throw it out, a mangled end cap is not too great a price to pay!
Thanks for the video Lucy, I'm glad someone finally did a video like this and demonstrated the process. I definitely have markers that are dry. I will put the alcohol to the test! 😁
That’s a great tip I’m annoyed with myself just thrown out about 30+ marker pens in the bin and purchased another set but will know what to do now thank you for sharing your tip x
Omg so exciting even though alcohol is in high demand here in the states this is fantastic! Luckily I stocked up on it and paper products in March 😁😁😁. I hope you are still on the mend!
This is a GREAT in a pinch solution and can be done every couple of regular refills. So you still need refill ink but not as much. If you don't do regular refills at some point the ink will lighten and simply not give you the color payoff you need.
Thanks for sharing this tutorial bro my color makers it's working again🤩😊❤️❤️❤️ watching from Philippines🇵🇭 by the way I really recommend to watch this video for those color markers won't work anymore😅
I'm trying this with my Copic Ciao markers. I have 3 that are almost completely bone dry- one that I know is brand new that I bought recently. So I've just put some drops of the rubbing alcohol in them and shook them up. I'll come back tomorrow and update this post to tell you the results! (Posted at Midnight of 10/10/24) EDIT: Okay! It's the next day and omg it worked. I mean they are a bit more diluted and not as pigmented, but this really did work. Thank you so much!!! Saved me a few bucks. :D
Brilliant tip. I've spent a lot of money on a large set of alcohol markers and already had a pot of rubbing alcohol so you could well have saved me a lot of money now I won't throw any away but will try your tip.
Okay, seriously, what did I do wrong???????? I’ve got a marker that doesn’t even show when used, I put alcohol in the marker, shook it a bit and it didn’t work… just see with alcohol
I'm so disappointed. I was excited to try this and drop after drop after drop and letting it sit a bit before adding more, up to 18 drops and still nothing. And I know the marker isn't dry because I have barely used it. I'll try another marker but I was sad this didn't work on the first one I tried.

Awesome !!! You can also create your own alcohol blending market that way with a clean empty marker barrel and a new nib .

Hi Marilyn, you are correct, but what a joy to know you have a little longer with your markers before you have to buy some more 🤗💖

Great video! Do you know if this will work with a colorless blender? I just bought it and it’s dry.

Wow! Thank you for this! How many drops did you add? 2-3?
You are welcome Yazmin. Yes not many add a few at first and see if that is enough 💖🤗
