@@dogbreath6974 well if you think about it, it makes more sense to follow booster, since ship is already too far to get any decent footage of more than just a bright dot in the sky, but booster is returning towards the camera, so even if it did not explode, it would be better choice to film it and not the ship :)
@@David-yo5wsthey had 10 different people on 50 different cameras. Das and Mary were probably tasked with following the ship and Jack got the job of the booster. Don’t need every camera pointing at the bright dot
Have we had any info from spaceX on how much thrust that was? Cause yeah that looked insane i'm so eager to know how it compared with what they were expecting
Yes I am a space nerd but it is unfortunate that the non-space Nerds and non nerds don't look at this sort of thing even though they need this the most... all of humanity needs this the most. Existential risks are real
I’ve watched this a few times now on my OLED tv and I can’t believe the colors, the tracking, and the stabilization you managed. Best footage of the launch, by far
Everytime I think the videos of this launch cannot get any better, they do! Thanks Mary, Jack, and Sean for providing them. Thanks Thomas and Kevin for editing and producing this.
I want the booster RUD as my screen saver. I am so impressed with NSF photography; editing and the speed at which it happens. Metal prints available within minutes. It is amazing that it is even possible to take those images. Thank you everyone including Jack, Das, Mary Sean and everyone involved. Thank you for the livestreams and commentary.
that looks awesome. that launch rumbled mary's camera. sean is always up close. you gotta agree tho, jack had a very good track and captured the most beautiful shots. don't mind the rud. it's great footage. yó/
I'm very appreciative to the photographers and their skill in capturing the footage and then converting to slow motion. You really get to see the detail, especially towards the end with the booster was destroyed via FTS.
I am obsessed with this footage! I cant stop rewatching and playing back to study each frame lol And omg Jack's footage starting at 2:00 is hands down some of the best rocket footage ive ever seen!!!!!
Awesome video! I like the shock-wave/Mach-diamonds in the exhaust stream. The transition, presumably to supersonic, where the exhaust stream blew out, with the clouds around it, was impressive, thanks!
omg, thank you for bringing these views (and sounds) to us!! Incredible footage. You've outdone yourselves I think. I hope y'all are getting some well deserved rest.
I don’t know what we could’ve done without you guys! I must say that your content is so incredible and professional that it’s so inspiring to all of us to see what the future brings, and I can’t wait to see what you guys will post during future flights and what amazing views you’ll provide to your already BIG community Also I got to point out that the rud of the booster it’s majestic that it seems like a nebula expanding , jack really nailed it !! Thank you @NASAspaceflight Godspeed SpaceX
Congrats to Space X on this incredibly launch but also.. congrats to the NSF crew on getting these amazing shots! Like the Jac Beyer one is just mesmorising to look at. From the launch till the end of Stage 1, just wow.
One of few videos that could have benefited from being shot in portrait mode, in the beginning. Starship is so massive! That explosion at the end was otherworldly!
Jack Beyer! You can now stop filming anything after that day, because there you cant record nothing more awesome than that! The best video on internet!
Absolutely mindblowing! The explosion of the first stage booster is just like a cosmic erruption of interstellar gas. Congratulations for capturing this in such quality, and sharing it for all mankind!
I can only imagine that no microphone could capture the sound of this beast rising off the ground, it must have been an incredible experience in person.
Thinking: Could fragments from the booster-blowing up in almost vacuum have being flying that fast and far that they have caused damage on the Starship...? The explosion was extremely huge and the fragments will fly extremely far away due to the low or missing friction... Just some thoughts from me... 🤔 But a fantastic leap in comparison with the primary attempt... Just continue and go fabulous phantastic.... 🙏🏻🍀🤞🍀🚀
@@lanatsif Any source for that? Relight went badly, but that won't make it explode from the middle. The explosion starts about midship between the two tanks, which is where the FTS system is reported to be installed. We also saw in the previous launch that both the booster and Starship can survive a significant amount of tumbling *plus* an activation of a small FTS charge. This led to an uncontrolled (and un-exploded) flight for 40+ seconds until the vehicle finally broke apart. 40 seconds *after* the FTS trigger! This was a key point of worry from the FAA. There was absolutely *none* of this in the second flight, just one explosion starting in the middle after relight failure and it was immediately gone. It was almost certainly FTS.
@@lanatsif I no longer see my previous reply either. This is likely RUclips's garbage spam detector deleting legit comments, notice how it's very common for the number of replies under a comment to not match the number shown. Anyway I saw this one at least and did check out their website. It's true they do mention only a RUD for the booster but more specifically say that "the team verified a safe command destruct was appropriately triggered" for Starship. So indeed they didn't say they verified the same FTS trigger for the booster (supposedly automated if they had to check?), but they also didn't say it broke up from dynamic forces. I hope we'll get a clearer answer at some point, either way thanks for the reply!
The sound is bonkers in these clips.
Also, metal prints from the launch are available here: shop.nasaspaceflight.com/collections/metal-prints
Sounded like an epic popcorn maker, funny enough though, watching it needed popcorn, and i didn't have any.... or Bacon (that was for Jack)
Sounded like being slapped by the Heavens for reaching so far. It's not so easy to record that either! NSFs audi and video sets a Launch Standard.
Daaaaaaammmm you guys are good! These shots are just 👌🏽 chef's kiss. (Alternately, they could also be described as absolutely amazeballs bonker nuts!)
OLM used to be my favorite term. Hot staging is pressing that. Then the kaboom of the flight termination. Unbelievable. Jack Jack
The booster RUD is worthy of a Hubble or JWST image. Quite beautiful and mesmerising.
So true! It didn't explode, it was transformed.
just WoW. supernova close up. brilliant.
