EVE Online is the massive game that just won't stop. There's a surprising amount of interesting things to know about it, too! Subscribe for more: / gameranxtv
I once played eve online. I made a character, and it took me about 40 minutes I made a profile photos, which took me about 20 minutes (BTW, they were hilarious. I made like a bald guy, and it looked like if he was shooting a light beam from his forehead. Had a lot of fun). Started the game. Ended the tutorial. Didn't know what the fuck is going on. Stopped playing 10/10 best character creation I saw.
Yo Falcon. The vast majority of viewers appear to have never heard of EVE or have little knowledge of what actually happens in the game. It'd be cool if you'd make another vid that talks about recent EVE history or recent big wars.
I truly understand what you mean. Solo PvP is so intense that it induces a high dose of adrenaline. Sometimes, in a very close fight, I have "combat shakes" that last about 5 to 10 minutes.
My most favourite part of EVE online are the biggest factions and how they are managed. Some of their leaders are much more threatening and mafia members and much more influential, as well. It's insane what you have to do and what you have to go through in order to have any of the higher positions in those factions and it involves meeting a lot of people in person, having your entire life checked to see if you are trustworthy... It's insane a game has this all.
The music is alright but I keep it off most of the time. The gameplay is amazing and the story is better than any other game I have ever played. This includes the Witcher 3 and the Last of us. What makes the story so amazing is that it is real and it is your own. I can tell you about fighting in giant wars that effect the whole game to taking part in politics within mercenary corporations, and searching for spies within our ranks, and being chased by space pirates. I have fought in wars against the very people who taught me how to play the game and just a few weeks ago I was friends with. And someone else will tell you a totally different story about how they mined space rocks. What you are, who you are and what you do is entirely up to you. Therefore the story that comes out of that is also up to you. Whether or not that is a good story is yet to be determined by you.
For those who are wondering what Eve Online is. CCP created a universe which is truly open.. It's economy is run by players and everything you use and bullet you shot is manufactured by other players.(For a manufacturer it can do mining operations in dangerous zones with groups of people and then use it to manufacture or buy further rare materials from others or colonize planets to mine them and further manufacture but need blueprints from scientists(players)) you can do basically anything. there are seriously guys who just trading in trade hubs and making money(seriosuly, they look for profitible contracts and basically buy low sell high, also rich people can manupulate markets for certain products they can buy literally everything on the market then they set it's price themselves monopolizing the unit). it's not to get the best gear and go to pvp coz it's not all about pvp and PVP is not about the best or most expensive equipment.(Even if you have high tech frigate with expensive units if your enemy is smart with much cheaper frigate can take you out such as sniping you while you are in a full brawl ship or catching you by a smart tactic when you are a sniper.)) It is a truly dynamic/realistic universe with it's own rules. Learning curve is uber steep and you don't learn everything in one go. Don't feel sad though focus on one aspect and then learn about it and then later when you are interested in another aspect read and ask ppl for advice and dive there too.. ENJOY!! !!!!!!!!! If you are interested in starting. check out the forums for newbie corporations(clans/guilds in eve) and join them, there are a lot of people who are there to help the newcomers and help you learn the game. you start slowly and don't turn it into a grindfest. just focus on enjoying the game and ask when you need help. you can't learn every aspect since there is just way too many. as you talk with people and get more idea about what is going on enjoy your play and the universe and the graphics.. My experience was similar. I was amazed by everything about the game and i was running missions(NPC missions) for a long time while i was learning the mechanics of the game and also reading a lot about the different aspects. Was scared of the low/null security regions for a long time, then i joined a nullsec(pvp) corp and learn more and joiined a wormhole corp and learn more there. I only stop playing because i moved to China and internet connection is just terrible here(went with private gaming networks for awhile) that it couldn't be played. When i see the videos i miss every second of it though.
Referring to the losses of B-R as 330K of micro-transactions is such a trigger. In EVE when we refer to losses in money it is because EVE offer people to purchase in game items with real money that can be traded for in game currency. Micro-transactions to us are like ship skins and other bullshit. Internet space ships are serious business!
no it is not eve isk translates to real money via plex and you dont have to pay for shit if you dont want to. 99% of the ships lost were not bought with real money
I'm a Fleet Commander of FCON, I think my favorite part is finding a fight you take and it results in both fleets smashing each other down to just a handfull of ships left. Then finding out just what each individual pilot is made of when a 60v60 is down to a 5v5.
The best part about large fleets under a hundred or when you wander through red space and as you are wondering you run into a large Fleet bigger than yours who is running from a bigger Fleet than them then it's a big game of Ring Around the Posies was a proud supporter of nrds in CVA space Providence..
eve online is in my opinion one of the best games ever made, its so complex and you can do whatever you want in a huge universe from mining to exploring to planetary colonication to pvp. and you can even make space stations and giant warships like titans. play it.
One of the best games? Ok, if you take away the "love dust" from your eyes you will find out that the story is 0, the music too, the gameplay... meh. I played it 5 hours... i understood how things work... but it wasnt my type of game and it didnt made me stay or say "wow" ... so i dezinstalled it.
Dont worry this guy has just repeated that he de installed it like 10 times like he needs the world to know. Eve Is straight up one of the greatest digital creations ever made. It takes a bit longer than 5 hours to realize it ;)
FlamyMind yeah ridiculous to judge it after 5 hours... its a damn good game and the music is beautiful. i stopped playing because it requires a lot of investment of time based on what your doing as well as cooperation with players especially the further you progress. it was however some of my best times gaming. people shouldnt listen to this person especially if you got time on your hands its def worth trying out
same, i even started reading books like the art of war and some of the major psychology authors because of my investment in eve. then again i was in a leadership position while having social anxiety and i do read a lot anyways, but still^^
About the economics, not only do they hire real economists, but real many real economists have written papers, essays and thesis based on EVE, using it as a model for the real world.
Some of us Alphas may not have the time to invest a monthly sub to be Omega. I was actually glad when they came out with the Alpha and Omega giving those who want to try a chance to experience before subbing as well as gave those who like the game but don't spend enough time to justify the sub.
August Sandbo pseudo free...sort of freemium. You're still locked out of a few things that subscribers are allowed...like advanced tech and ships..which you probably won't work up to that quickly w/o a lot of real cash investment tbh
If you're an accountant in real life, but want to that in a game, in space, and by paying money for it, then this is the game for you. If you want to have fun, you play something else.
@Gameranx. You fucked a couple of things up in your statements. The Jita and Amarr riots, had NOTHING AT ALL to do with the price of the Manacle. They were about the fact that the manacle gave you a stats bonus, which meant that the micro-transactions process had made Eve a Pay-to-Win game. Secondly, the battle of BR-5RB, the value stated was the equivalent value of items destroyed if converted to real currency via plex cards. It was absolutely NOT a tally of value of micro-transactions lost.
Played since beta, knew about all those except number 9. All in all, a great list. I wish you had maybe taken out one of the weaker "fun facts" and instead had mentioned how much money the Eve Online community has raised for charity, how they helped out Sean Smith's family (RIP Vile Rat) after he was killed, or about all the citizen science (through project discovery in game) the players have accomplished. Eve is a great game full of amazing (both good and evil) people, but when we're out of game, we're all pretty awesome. Fan Fest and Eve Vegas never have been, and never will be as big as BlizCon for WoW, but definitely shows how we're a passionate community. Thanks for the video!
I know a lot of gamers who say that they will never, ever want to play EVE Online and yet they are absolutely captivated by the player stories that come out of it. EVE is just that kind of game. (And, obviously, I play it.)
My favorite part about Eve Online is all player in one server. One Universe. Thats why the war like the bloodbath of b-r5rb can only happen in Eve Online. #EVEForever
Thanks for the publicity. Having played for nearly 11 years (11 in May), I feel part of this game and as though you're bringing free publicity to my little village of people playing EVE Online. There are many features in EVE that can be my favourite in ALL games, but the best part is the meta game. Specifically what our respected late Vile Rat did. I've been a diplomat in a couple alliances for the last three years, and this really has nothing to do with anything like game mechanics built into the game. This has only to do with managing the people playing the game; it starts with entertaining relationships between two separate groups and keeping people withing your own group away from conflict, but goes as far as responding to personal crisis situations, such as depression, attempted suicide, unforeseen circumstances etc. There is also a newer group that is starting to make an image of themselves, that identify with the hashtag #broadcast4reps, and have their own Space Pope representing this group. They specifically look out for members of the community who suffer from the different afflictions life can hit you with, and also provide the community with a permanent candle service at the EVE Online Monument in Reykjavik, Iceland, for those members of the community that have passed away (one thing GAMERANX forgot to mention, all players active in 2008 or '09 if I recall correctly, including myself, got themselves a monument built in the capital of Iceland).
Eve is such a underrated game. Played it for almost 3 years and it was such a unique experience. The learning curve is vast and that's what puts newcomers off. People should really try it out for at least 6+ months to get a real idea of what the game is.
Boaty Gatling must've been recently that it started dying..ive played on and off for about 6 years (quit when my pc died) and buying plex was still an option..
The paywall is still there, It's not as strict as before but now it's like free runescape vs paid runescape. The Free part is a nice taste of the game, but the paid part allows you to fly bigger ships, get higher skill levels, and just do more things.
EvE is soooooooooooooo fascinating. I can`t be bothered to play it anymore (played for like 2-3 months a looong time ago) but OMG it is interesting and somewhat genius. I also love how different fields of science have a genuine look at it and interest on what is going on with this Universe.

Yo to all those out there interested in EVE Online and haven't heard there is now a free to play option that limits character growth but allows for an infinite trial of the game. This way you can join up and explore the basics of almost all aspects of eve without paying the monthly subscription fee. You can try all major career paths and meet the community before you decide to make the plunge. Also the learning curve is challenging but a lot more friendly to new people than you might have heard.
12 years playing and managing a corporation for 10 years this July. My favorite thing about eve online : The social interactions . Never has my social skills allowed me to progress in a game as much as in EVE. Being the leader of a 300 man fleet or just attending diplomatic meetings, this game is insane.
I'v heard of Eve Online from my friends but was never really interested in the past but holy shit, I'm now intrigued. Is the game still alive and healthy?
I'd like to see an update to this series, there's been a few more incidents in Eve Online, though most of the cool people showing the technological improvements have left or gone dark.
What i find most beautiful is the scope and the complexity. How many games can you say you are apart of a 1000 man coalition battling another 1000 man coalition for territory. And unlike other games, It's not just a war of attrition, You get strategies like Market Wars, Espionage, High Value Targeting, Siege warfare, and so much more. It's beautiful.
Awesome video! Best thing I enjoy about EVE Online is that you as a player are granted absolute freedom. Absolute. You are free to interact with anyone in almost any way you wish. That means ultimately YOUR safety is YOUR own responsibility.
Been playing EvE Online since 2009-2013, and it was the best gaming experience ever. It's a brutal and unforgiving world where there's no easy mode button when you're a lone wolf starting, and that's probably the best thing to experience, slowly growing up from a point where your doing freelance mission for NPCs, flying here and there, exploring the possibilities that EVE has to offer, where the low sec and null sec are pretty much a DO NOT ENTER zone, you try to keep yourself out of harms way as much as you can. Then you're joining a group of like minded individuals feels like a totally new world for you. And for me, as someone who can relate himself to a Russian community, it was a really interesting aspect since we all knew how military works ( at least most of us), so every drill, every scout party executed orders in a military way, and that was a great unintentional roleplaying feature that can't be taken out. While your corporation is growing you become a pathfinder exploring wormholes with your band of battlebrothers, executing clever ambushes that took hours of preparation and intensity and minutes (that felt like ages) of adrenaline fueled battles. The after a while you own a flagship of your corporation and you live for those moments where you you collapse on your nemesis and change the tide of the battle. (IT WAS ALL PHENOMENAL) I really enjoy the multi-polar world of EvE Online, where you have the Russians on one side, Americans on the other, Chinese, German, French and many many more.... The insane coalitions that people put together, and the huge wars and battles that EVE has to offer. And don't get me wrong, the major battles are there not only to experience, but to tell stories about. Eve is a game when you tell amazing stories about your experience, and that is by far the best part, way better than the experience itself. It all become a military sci-fi novela.
I feel like it probably too late for many people to even try to get into it now. The game is old, overly complex and one of the biggest time sinks in the universe.. These factors alone will keep A LOT of people away from it
yeah if i know someone who could explain and i could participate without getting destroyed by someone with micro transactions (assumption, only played the game for 30 min, 20 min character creation) and i don't have to grind and pour my life heart and soul into the game, i would play. But thats alot of things
Well, if you're talking about microtransactions, that's things like customization. Not actual ingame power. Sure, you can skip small amounts of time in the game, but it's so minoscule that i'd hardly call it anything that damaging. A lot of it's about patience and indeed, pouring your soul into it. I sure as hell did. Was it worth it? Hells to the yes.
Blue: That's the point. We don't want a bunch of scrubs with attentionspans as short as their penises running around asking us to hold their hands anyway.
Hostile Drone: Actually no, you can definitely "pay to win" in Eve, since the introduction of skill extractors and skill injectors. But you'd have to spend a shit-ton of real money to do it. Basically you'd have to buy a lot of PLEX using real money, selling it on the in-game market to get isk. Use that isk to buy a truckload of skill injectors and skillbooks, then pump your character full off skill injectors like they were heroin needles. Then of course you'd need to buy some blingy ships to go with your newly bought skillpoints. So it is possible. But, like I said, unless you have a serious isk source in the game already (like in the range of trillions) you'd have to spend an assload of real money buying at least 100 units of plex (probably even more) to make a character and turn it into an instant badass.
Cool stuff. Since I'm an Eve player, I was aware of most of that. I've been around since 2007. Though I wasn't aware of specific heists, I was aware of the Vile Rat thing (was actually in goonswarm at the time). Also, the number 42 was pretty cool. And the idea of the CSM is amazing in a video game.
I myself never played eve but a friend of my did. One time when i was at his house he told me all sorts of cool stuff about eve like the bloodbath you mentioned. It's incredible how much time and effort people put into this game.
Vile Rat was an amazing person and even though I only got to fly with him once or twice I still remember him even after I've stopped playing Eve. So thanks for keeping that memory going. As poor as I was there wasn't much I could donate to the fundraiser, but still did. One of the other stories about the Eve Market if I remember correctly was Goonswarm/Goonwaffe fighting a corp that really liked to use a specific type of battleships in their fleet. I think they were Abaddons but I can't recall. So what we/they did was completely buy out every single one of those battleships available on the market, both in high, low and null sec that we could. And made it nearly impossible for them to resupply their fleet after a few battles. Loved the politics in Eve, I played a little around before Vile Rat was gone. The last time I played was before a big push into a Russian alliance's space after an American staged a coup.
I don't play EVE Online, but I love it just like any other of my favorite games. There's something just so cool about it and how dedicated the community is at keeping the game alive.
12 Year Veteran of Eve Online, my favorite by far reason I keep playing this game is Tons upon Tons of Free Content, You paid once for Eve and continue to every month as a subscription based multiplayer game. Yes, nothing new there, but every expansion, every massive new content that's added you are never charged for. WoW, EQ/EQ2, GW2, All other MMORPG's on the market charge you for Content Additions in addition to the subscription fee, and eventually they're markets and player economies fail under a trove of stupid prices and independent markets. Eve Super Huge Market, Super Huge Economics Control, and Super Huge Props for Free Content, and ability to pay with ingame Money! WE LOVE YOU CCP! Show the World what it means to be the best in Online Gaming.
My favorite thing about EVE is how it gives you the shakes like no other game. Knowing what you have and that you could lose it at any moment. Yesterday I almost lost my Leviathan. One of five titans (the most expensive and hard to get ships in the game) a rival alliance, Pandemic Legion dropped on a friendly super carrier (second largest ship class in the game), we came in with back up capitals to try and save him but we were too late. Pandemic Legion or PL for short, decided to primary me, my titan due to it being a shield titan. In EVE shield titans and supers are really easy to kill and they rely on capacitor to stay alive. Your capacitor is used to turn on modules, each module you turn on has a cycle timer, with each cycle it uses cap. There is ships designed to neutralize your cap, preventing you from turning on your modules that help you stay alive. They did this to me and there was not much I could do. I ended up surviving as I went into armor, just as back up arrived and wiped out the remaining dudes on grid. Never before has a game made me require new underwear and pants...and a new chair, from shitting myself so much as to what could happen/what was happening. EVE is very hard to learn and get used to be it is the most unique and best game I have ever played, and I love every minute of it.
Each massive battle takes place within a bubble, so only the battle within the bubble affects your computer's performance. Plus it's all very well optimized, with many graphics settings you can tweak.
I run it on a 10 yr old i5-750 with a 5750 graphics chip, I can multibox three session on full quality at full HD xD You really can run EvE on a toaster bruh xD
Been playing since 2010... Alpha Cloned right now because of IRL Iskies... being lacking... but I am SGT Funyoun: CEO/Supreme Admiral of Elysian Space Navy - First Fleet.
Good video! The thing I like about EvE is that everything matters. Pilots are immortal but the ships, the ISK... so easy to lose it, risks have consequences, rewards feel "real". I'm currently weighing an investment of months of work with an expectation it'll pay off big -- but one false step and things could get grim quickly. Good times!
Man what I love about EVE is that exact kind of intrigue aspect of the game which allows people to become rich by basically doing heists of in game currency, or like what happened recently dismantle a faction from the inside, it is beautiful natural emerging gameplay, you can't code a system for intrigue because once it becomes a system everyone can be good at it, on the other hand slowly rising up a corporate ladder to get into powerful positions and take off with the profits is something that could plausibly happen in real life, is just that so much of this game is made by the players, it is simply fantastic. I played it like 5 years ago, and stopped playing because I didn't have the money to go on after the month of the game, I think back then there was no Free option, but now I am downloading so I can play it again
I have played one character, continuously, since May of 2004. I was recovering from heart surgery and heard the sound track on "Musical Starstreams". As a fan of science fiction, the prospect of a game was enticing, so as soon as I could sit up I joined. My subscription has never lapsed. Best game ever.
I read about the Benghazi attack. The tech dude seemed really cool. The Michael Bay movie did it no justice, absolute shit. The book is really hard to put down though.
It took me 3 tries and a mining mentor in 2012 to understand how to play Eve. This is before they developed hand-holding tutorials. They threw you out there and said sink or swim.
Why did they not mention the really complex lore and people that actually fare in ARCHEOLOGY in game? EVE has a massive lore - its not just fleet vs fleet combat. To not mention REALLY dedicated people, or that you can play for years on end without firing a single shot[drone users, hello! also explorers. also haulers. also miners. also support fleets] is pretty bad. Also why did you not mention #burnjita?
Been playing for 6 years, its tough and slow to get into but once you do, you realize its more of a hobby than a game. At times it is slow, tedious, aggravating and even boring, but when you accomplish your goals, participate in the massive fleet battle for a star system, build your capital spaceship etc, it gives you the greatest experiences you will ever have in a virtual world.
My favorite part of Eve Online is the excitement I get when I join a fleet. Any fleet can be the trigger of major fun, any target can be a trap, any victory can turn into a defeat, anything you create can be destroyed, anything others create can be destroyed by you. Its the most exciting game I know, everyone should give it a try. Its even free to play now, so anyone can join the fleets as a kitchen-sink electronic warfare or tackle frigate in no-time. There's no grinding ingame currency if you don't want to, you get refunded any ship you lose in important fleet operations (basically fleet operations to protect valuable moons that produce valuable stuff for your corporation/alliance). Apps and PC programs make it simple to get notifications of fleets (and how big a percentage of the ship they reimburse in that fleet), so you can be basically living your life until the fleet you want gets pinged, then you log in and get in on the action.
It's worth noting that the Jita protest wasn't over the monocle specifically. See, the Aurum market at the time was exclusively cosmetic items. CCP, who makes EVE, was getting ready to roll out "walking on stations" functionality which would allow players' avatars to interact outside of their ships. So a new, secondary market using a currency much more valuable than ISK (to further highlight the differences between capsuleers and regular people) was created full of purely cosmetic, but stupidly expensive items. However, a memo was leaked containing plans to add items to the Aurum market that would actually have an impact on gameplay. THAT was the issue, and that's what the protest was over. CCP ended up launching an internal investigation into the matter and even though they said that the memo was apparently intended as a joke/satire/what-have-you, they did fire several people connected to it and the CEO issued a public apology. The monument which was attacked was placed in Jita by the developers to honor a group of players who had completed a particular mission arc, and had long been a symbol of the positive relationship between CCP and their players. After its destruction, the statue was replaced with a broken version of the model to signify the trust that was broken by the memo debacle, and it hasn't been fixed yet, signifying that CCP realized it still has a lot of work to do to regain that lost trust.
Another fact that you probably didn't know. I was mining this one asteroid one time and I went back to the station to sell it for millions of ISK, then in an epic fashion like you've never seen, I went back to shooting lasers at rocks.
I have played EVE online for 11 years and not once have I gotten bored of this game My favourite thing about this game is its abilities to keep people interested
I was at B-R. The smaller battles leading up to that event were more enjoyable though due to B-R having such massive and prolonged time-dilation. It was still balls out crazy though
OT design An open world game with player controlled economy, exploration, many "professions" so to speak, and a (mostly) mature player base. That is just a thin layer of it.
lol, I remember being told about the heist back when I was first introduced to the game like eight years ago or something. Though I think a little more to it ended up happening (they didn't just rob them), but I can't recall if it was from that or if it was another instance entirely. Was something like they lured the Corporation owner in, blew up their ship and podded them after.
TheLukeMc it's the most popular MMO you've never heard of. Basically because player tend to be older individuals, the main reason for this is due to the game's complexity. It's an awesome game, but has a very steep learning curve that most new players feel overwhelmed by. I started playing a few month ago and I am really enjoying it. Although I'd describe it more as a "simulation" rather than a "game"
You can play EvE online for free, but you are restricted to Mid-Game equipment and no advanced technology or Corporation founding. That might sound cheap, but in reality even if your in a small frigate with barely any guns, you are still contributing to combat and the dynamic of the game.

I really enjoy playing eve, I just finished training into all the skills needed to effectively fly Carriers but theres always room for improvement. As for the market crashes part, the mineral market did crash pretty hard about 2 months ago and last I checked hasnt really recovered all that much so hooray for cheap production. To anyone reading this comment, I highly recommend the game, I've sunk a lot of time into playing it and its definitely a game that I keep going back to. But it was the battle of B-R5RB that got me interested after I heard how much money was lost in a game.
When I played EvE I flew solo for like 2 years... started off with a mining/trading operation, ran a decent number of combat missions, and eventually ended up with my own "table-to-farm" one man munitions operation. God damn, I'd _love_ to get back in but I just don't have the time anymore. :(
I like how I haven't played a second of this game but somehow I feel invested.
Mjolnor once I heard of that big battle when it happened I was immediately interested, but I couldnt play it so I just played its baby version Dust514
you can get invested in the game just reading the shitposts and propaganda on the subreddit
Same bro, same.
Meh... it's not my type of game, i got bored after 5 hours + i don't like the style of the game + meh.
Well true or not true, although I'd never play it whenever I hear big news I find it interesting
I once played eve online.
I made a character, and it took me about 40 minutes
I made a profile photos, which took me about 20 minutes (BTW, they were hilarious. I made like a bald guy, and it looked like if he was shooting a light beam from his forehead. Had a lot of fun).
Started the game.
Ended the tutorial.
Didn't know what the fuck is going on.
Stopped playing
10/10 best character creation I saw.
Nice attention span you have there.....
Kleizar what do you mean by attention span?
Game doesnt explain what to do so you just instantly give up? Could have looked up some tutorials online.......
Kleizar There just were too many buttons man. Waay above average, plus way above my button limit.
Lol same
EvE is the sandbox that when someone kicks over your castle you can turn around and stab them in the kidneys
And then they go off and sell that kidney on the black market without telling anyone that it is damaged. Any scam for those dank iskies.
Firespyer I almost fell out of my chair on that one. XD
:)
Oh, I am so using that line.
not unless you are banned first for misappropriate game style!
Yo Falcon. The vast majority of viewers appear to have never heard of EVE or have little knowledge of what actually happens in the game. It'd be cool if you'd make another vid that talks about recent EVE history or recent big wars.
I'd be interested in a history of this game.
that would be a long asf video
That would take like 4 hours of video
TheNebulaEffect it can have parts
Kleizar I agree, but maybe with someone else narrating. Don't very much like the bird guy
My first salary - 4/10
My first jump from an airplane - 8/10
My first kiss - 9/10
My first solo PVP - 10/10
True human here !
wow really that just sad that a video game rates that high. you need to get out enjoy life more
I truly understand what you mean. Solo PvP is so intense that it induces a high dose of adrenaline. Sometimes, in a very close fight, I have "combat shakes" that last about 5 to 10 minutes.
I still have to taste the sweet sweet spoils of a PVP win. Until then I will feed ships and learn :D
@@bc64100 Eve is not a game
My most favourite part of EVE online are the biggest factions and how they are managed. Some of their leaders are much more threatening and mafia members and much more influential, as well.
It's insane what you have to do and what you have to go through in order to have any of the higher positions in those factions and it involves meeting a lot of people in person, having your entire life checked to see if you are trustworthy... It's insane a game has this all.
Sad because the story, music, quests and gameplay are MEH, right?
FlamyMind Haven't played the game myself but pretty sure its not supposed to have a solid story. Its kind of a make your own story thing.
Sad because youve repeated the same thing to like 10 people and no one cares right?
Brandon Dasher does it force you to do microtransaction or dont really have to
EVE is a game most people have read about but fewer stick around to play
@Kaillou *28000
@@praetor29 thats like a whole army
as a new player, i keep reminding myself that its gonna take a year or do to get into the hundreds of millions.
@@willbrown6312 actually doesnt take that long. been playing for a little over a year and have over 1b in cash and another 1b in assets
When an EVE: Online player quits to play world of war craft, the average IQ of both player bases increases
ROFL
What if i play both :D
can someone explin pls im confused rn
edit: it makes no sense he can't have a high and low IQ
He's saying that EVE: Online has a player base with a very high average IQ, and WOW has a player base with a low Average IQ
ohh.......... soz i misread "increase" for decrease
Thenotarealchannel didn't Rothschild do exactly this in WWII?
eve also had a console brother, Dust 514
still gotta get ur dakka dakka out to werever ur customers are wich can b a hell of alot of fun an games in itself lol
HEY! That's what I do!
if the game wouldn't have had a subscription i would've played it, but alas!
So it's micro transactions with extra steps
no it is not eve isk translates to real money via plex and you dont have to pay for shit if you dont want to.
So what do you do now?
Me I am a live at home Daddy now don't have much time to put in that game no more..
FCON is an illusion
eve online is in my opinion one of the best games ever made, its so complex and you can do whatever you want in a huge universe from mining to exploring to planetary colonication to pvp. and you can even make space stations and giant warships like titans.
FlamyMind Story? Music? What are you talking about this is an mmo and if you want the "wow" you are going to have to play for more than 5 hours
Dont worry this guy has just repeated that he de installed it like 10 times like he needs the world to know. Eve Is straight up one of the greatest digital creations ever made. It takes a bit longer than 5 hours to realize it ;)
1800 hours and still realizing how great it is, Easy to get burned or burnt out tho.
FlamyMind yeah ridiculous to judge it after 5 hours... its a damn good game and the music is beautiful. i stopped playing because it requires a lot of investment of time based on what your doing as well as cooperation with players especially the further you progress. it was however some of my best times gaming. people shouldnt listen to this person especially if you got time on your hands its def worth trying out
EvE online taught me everything I know about negotiation.
same, i even started reading books like the art of war and some of the major psychology authors because of my investment in eve. then again i was in a leadership position while having social anxiety and i do read a lot anyways, but still^^
The only thing one needs to know about successful negotiation is to have a bag of gold in one hand, and a loaded gun in the other.
amen
The best diplomat I know is a well-armed warship.
speak softly and polite a super cap lol
favorite thing in eve, solo pvp. shit will make ur hands shake for years.
Palms sweats, Mom's spaghetti
Curtis Butler there's vomit on his sweater already
Best part is even years later, I still get that rush when solo PVPing in a cheap frigate.
Curtis Butler I've been playing for 11 years, I still shake even in a t1 frig lol
i know right??
About the economics, not only do they hire real economists, but real many real economists have written papers, essays and thesis based on EVE, using it as a model for the real world.
BRACE YOURSELVES, HERE COME THE NEWBROS!
lol
Alphas alphas everywhere.
Nyleen shut up nerd
I thought we decided to call them Alpacas
Some of us Alphas may not have the time to invest a monthly sub to be Omega. I was actually glad when they came out with the Alpha and Omega giving those who want to try a chance to experience before subbing as well as gave those who like the game but don't spend enough time to justify the sub.
The coolest mmo I've ever played with one of the coolest communities as well.
Extremely difficult to get into as well as extremely fun once you do.
Well put
wow a video on eve.
this is my dream come true.
belive it or not i like mining in eve... its so chilled, perfect for comming down after a stressfull day.
Mining with a good boost in a quiet corner of null-space is awesome. You can make some decent Isk in a Hulk with a good Orca, or even Rorqual boost.
agree. and just put on some nice music and relax
wtf
Well yes but to me it's not so relaxing having a conduit nearby with a bunch of triglavs jumping in on my venture...
Before I watched this video, I had no idea this game existed.
After I watched this video, I want to play this game so badly.
ruddthree you should, its free ;)
August Sandbo pseudo free...sort of freemium. You're still locked out of a few things that subscribers are allowed...like advanced tech and ships..which you probably won't work up to that quickly w/o a lot of real cash investment tbh
If you're an accountant in real life, but want to that in a game, in space, and by paying money for it, then this is the game for you. If you want to have fun, you play something else.
metalskim "EVE is just spreadsheets don't play it"
shut up
Did you?
I played EVE for around 12 years. I had to quit after that. A guy needs to sleep eventually.
Meh, I can sleep when I'm dead.
OcihEvE lol I see your point EVE is so damn time consuming
Filthy casual. Do your spreadsheets man! Sleep is a MASSIVE hit to your isk/hour.
VainerCactus 0
Gotta agree man. ;)
A common saying in Eve goes "There are no such things are friendships, only mutually beneficial contracts".
Shannon Mcvey is correct.
How dare you not mention how it was connected to a PS3 game (Dust 514) and players from Dust could request orbital strikes from players in Eve?
Beta vet of Dust 514 reporting in, played all the way to the end last year. o7
because it was kind of a gimmick that is now dead and a bit of a black mark on CCP for not coming through on something they said they would, again...
FUCK DUST!!!! i played that game for months and it was crap even after it was release
mbavalo ikr
Too bad they shut down the servers :(
I love eve online
We all do. Dreddit is recruiting:)
(And, obviously, I play it.)
having a game full of cool stuff you have to wait months and months to use, that is eves biggest problem
My favorite part about Eve Online is all player in one server. One Universe. Thats why the war like the bloodbath of b-r5rb can only happen in Eve Online. #EVEForever
I have never heard of this game till now
CCP the company is 20 years old the game is only 14 years old
My favourite part od EVE Online is the freedom to do what you like.
I love how you can buy your membership with in game money.
It's been the way for years until the game started dying so they removed it. It my opinion they should of kept the paywall.
Alphas have been great IMO. but im not an elitist
I love the thought of this game. I wish I had the time to delve into this as I would like to. Super mad props to the devs
Eve online is the greatest open world game ive ever played and ive played most.
I have never heard of EVE online, but now want to check it out because it sounds really cool
buddy invite link if you want one: secure.eveonline.com/signup/?invc=c415d794-9370-4d3d-816e-9e967dbc3f91&action=buddy
write me an ingame mail if you got any questions.
i've been playing eve for 6 years now and i love how the game works. its the most player driven mmo out there.
I wish I could keep playing this without having to dedicate my entire life to it.
Audric Sage yeah its so damn good but it takes too much time
I'v heard of Eve Online from my friends but was never really interested in the past but holy shit, I'm now intrigued. Is the game still alive and healthy?
sure is, never less than 15k players online (In the one server)
It will suck your soul
I'd like to see an update to this series, there's been a few more incidents in Eve Online, though most of the cool people showing the technological improvements have left or gone dark.
What i find most beautiful is the scope and the complexity. How many games can you say you are apart of a 1000 man coalition battling another 1000 man coalition for territory. And unlike other games, It's not just a war of attrition, You get strategies like Market Wars, Espionage, High Value Targeting, Siege warfare, and so much more. It's beautiful.
There are no "guilds" in EVE. We have corporations.
o I thought EVE ment everyone Vs everyone 😂😂😂😂
Neptune3652 i mean I wouldn't say that's wrong
That is the most accurate mistake i've seen in a loooong time.
bang on the money Neptune
you're not entirely wrong, really
Sounds about right
Awesome video!
(IT WAS ALL PHENOMENAL)
I really enjoy the multi-polar world of EvE Online, where you have the Russians on one side, Americans on the other, Chinese, German, French and many many more.... The insane coalitions that people put together, and the huge wars and battles that EVE has to offer. And don't get me wrong, the major battles are there not only to experience, but to tell stories about. Eve is a game when you tell amazing stories about your experience, and that is by far the best part, way better than the experience itself. It all become a military sci-fi novela.
going to play it now :)
Adrian SH nobody cares you fucking piece of shit
Atleast you cared enough to comment :). Thank you :)
Adrian SH hey I'm gonna play too
Bob Dole Oh shit my man here has a point
Adrian SH fair warning, it takes about a year of real time to get the skills to where they should be. download EvE mon it helps out.
people shitting about eve online .... I hope they realize what they are missing.... 8 years eve vet
It's incredible how much time and effort people put into this game.
an eve video while i do a 10/10? HELL YEAH
I never played this game. But it sounds fucking EPIC.
@7:02, Exactly the kind of people that can afford to put time in EVE Online
Very clear, concise explanation of the game's highlights. Thanks for the video!
EVE is something you love to watch and get invested in but never play
I didn't know this was a game but now it's my life goal to buy a pc and play this
EVE will run on a potato. Anything in the last 5 years will have no problems.
I've tried Eve 3 or 4 times for usually about a week each time. While it never hooked me, I appreciate the content of this video. Please do more.
Thee best game ever! One cannot simply walk away from playing Eve.. its forever in your veins! Great vid!
I never knew this game existed!!!! Omg I'm gonna go buy a pc good enough to run this!!!
Thankfully this game can run on a toaster.
Jean Figueroa really? but all those huge battles wouldn't they burn a weak PC?
Each massive battle takes place within a bubble, so only the battle within the bubble affects your computer's performance. Plus it's all very well optimized, with many graphics settings you can tweak.
Corn Man I use a GTX 560 and my pc still fares very well... xD
My favorite part of EVE online is when I learned an Alliance Commanding Officer was a CFO of a Fortune 500 company in Canada.
yeah I was in a big fleet and the ingame FC was a RL commander as well LMAO (we won ^^)
Good times!
Hooyah best Spreadsheet simulator ever.
Hmm, Didnt Except This Video At all (Even Though i play EVE :) )
Steel Stryker/Button - EL3 yeah same
Man what I love about EVE is that exact kind of intrigue aspect of the game which allows people to become rich by basically doing heists of in game currency, or like what happened recently dismantle a faction from the inside, it is beautiful natural emerging gameplay, you can't code a system for intrigue because once it becomes a system everyone can be good at it, on the other hand slowly rising up a corporate ladder to get into powerful positions and take off with the profits is something that could plausibly happen in real life, is just that so much of this game is made by the players, it is simply fantastic.
The book is really hard to put down though.
lucky time to be on RUclips
my favorite part of Eve Online is that there is so many creative ways to go about the game. You can be a whatever you want in the game.
It took me 3 tries and a mining mentor in 2012 to understand how to play Eve. This is before they developed hand-holding tutorials. They threw you out there and said sink or swim.
YES FINALLY
Why did they not mention the really complex lore and people that actually fare in ARCHEOLOGY in game? EVE has a massive lore - its not just fleet vs fleet combat. To not mention REALLY dedicated people, or that you can play for years on end without firing a single shot[drone users, hello! also explorers. also haulers. also miners. also support fleets] is pretty bad.
Also why did you not mention #burnjita?
Couldn't fit everything, but that is a really interesting point. Crazy, the scope of this game. Thanks!
The best thing about EVE is all the space ambient music coming out of the game and inspiring artists to make more.
These aren't really secrets to the player base.
Hey Falcon :3
After its destruction, the statue was replaced with a broken version of the model to signify the trust that was broken by the memo debacle, and it hasn't been fixed yet, signifying that CCP realized it still has a lot of work to do to regain that lost trust.
join a corp, get killed in front of jita in a marauder while afk.
Rule 1 of EVE: Don't fly what you can't afford to lose.
Rule 2: If you are undocked, you are unsafe.
Excel Spreadsheets: the game. Love it. o7
Another fact that you probably didn't know. I was mining this one asteroid one time and I went back to the station to sell it for millions of ISK, then in an epic fashion like you've never seen, I went back to shooting lasers at rocks.
the story of my life and killing my suicidal kin that try killing me when i am mining
I'd love to see more EVE stuff, being an EVE online player myself.
this is a game?
Kevin alper Yalcin nah (sarcasm)
It's a simulator.
No. This is EVE.
EVE will eat your life beware
nah youll have more money then you know what to do with and get bored from the game very quickly
I have played EVE online for 11 years and not once have I gotten bored of this game My favourite thing about this game is its abilities to keep people interested
I was at B-R. The smaller battles leading up to that event were more enjoyable though due to B-R having such massive and prolonged time-dilation. It was still balls out crazy though
so what is eve?
name of the universe
well actually the name of the galaxy you play in is New Eden, the wormhole that got us there was called the Eve Gate.
OT design An open world game with player controlled economy, exploration, many "professions" so to speak, and a (mostly) mature player base. That is just a thin layer of it.
Early squad where you at???
We're not early, we're on time.
Penguintolife here
thank you for using below the asteroids. i missed that song. it somehow just calms me down
lol, I remember being told about the heist back when I was first introduced to the game like eight years ago or something. Though I think a little more to it ended up happening (they didn't just rob them), but I can't recall if it was from that or if it was another instance entirely. Was something like they lured the Corporation owner in, blew up their ship and podded them after.
What the heck is Eve Online? Someone explain.
TheLukeMc hard to explain, got to the website and read up on it there
just here for the replies
TheLukeMc it's the most popular MMO you've never heard of. Basically because player tend to be older individuals, the main reason for this is due to the game's complexity. It's an awesome game, but has a very steep learning curve that most new players feel overwhelmed by. I started playing a few month ago and I am really enjoying it. Although I'd describe it more as a "simulation" rather than a "game"
Think of it as like a pop tart. you can eat one cold or put it in the toaster for a warm, gooey centre. I hope I explained it clearly for you...
Basically it's another job that you have to pay for. Some people enjoy that sort of arrangement. I didn't.
Is it free?
yeah, kind-of. www.eveonline.com/alpha-omega/
You can play EvE online for free, but you are restricted to Mid-Game equipment and no advanced technology or Corporation founding.
That might sound cheap, but in reality even if your in a small frigate with barely any guns, you are still contributing to combat and the dynamic of the game.

Lol its so sad how this idiot try to make you use his referal link...
It is free but you only can fly a good amount of ship but you can pay for a monthly suscription and fly every ship
