I once played a tournament where the prize was an Italian Legends booster pack. I came in 2nd, but the winner was gracious enough to give me my favorite card from the pack he opened. I own an Italian Legends Force Spike to this day.
Back when I first started I played in a proxy tournament, where you were allowed 1 proxy in your deck. Mine was Moat, if I remember right I never even got it in play, lol. Nice pull though.
Nice job pulling the second best card in the set. Now put on some gloves so you're not getting your greasy fingerprints all over it. Back when you could still buy Legends off the shelf, I pulled a Falling Star. Traded it and a couple garbo rares for a Volcanic Island. Best trade of my life. I kept my Eye of Chaos and the Elder Dragon Legends.
Back when card art was great. Basically, anything Base set, Arabian Nights, and Legends. Antiquities are from the era too, but they feel somewhat different. Likely because it’s a weak set. Dark fully left the good art behind and Fallen Empires continued along the ugly card path. Man, I loved opening unlimited and Arabian Nights. I can’t explain how good that felt. I had 4 Italian Mana Drains as a teenager, and I never saw any English legends packs sold in my area. Always boggled my mind.
I think Italian Legends was a larger print run than english, and a lot more people were interested in buying Magic then.
