Yeah that's a complete scam. The fact that the piece of newspaper could have been on the desk of a shop that Emily Dickinson could have possibly shopped, reminds me of the Spaceballs quote. "I Am Your Father's Brother's Nephew's Cousin's Former Roommate." "So what does that make us?" "Absolutely NOTHING."
Ha! Correct!
Not from any specific event or game player worn jerseys are just as scammy. A pro athlete putting on a mass produced replica jersey for 5 seconds and then it gets chopped up and glued to cardboard is probably even less cool than an old timey newspaper clipping.
"I love history", who is Emily Dickinson, who is Benjamin Harrison? hhahahahah love it
The "joke", isn't on him... it's on society.
Was hoping he bought that Bruce Lee box
Bro’s chasing the Barack Obama rookie patch auto 💀
Did Kenya issue trading cards?
It's all junk. You're paying through the nose for printed cardboard.
Quite possibly
Card game cards I get. Football or baseball cards I get. 80s movie cards I get.
But these cards.....wtf?!
Haha
Does Pokemon count?
You can reach out to the company and they will send you a picture of the exact document it was cut from.
I totally agree an over priced scam. One of the reasons I got out of collecting cards. High price low reward.
What were you collecting?
@ I was collecting mostly hockey prices got to be to much for me after 2020. I will still pick up a single card here and there.
I got ya
Agree. Many are predicting panini cards (all sports). Will be worth pennies in not so long future. Topps I believe will maintain some value. Panini 👎🏻👎🏻 many many hustled
The newspaper “relic” could even be clippings from a newspaper about her, a newspaper that printed one of her poems, etc., and have no real in-person connection to her, as well. Think about that word “attributed”. Very, VERY broad. I have stayed clear of this product since I first heard about it.
Exactly right. The document relic was not owned by the person. The document relic is about the person.
Vintage baseball cards have never let me down. 😎
Magical words in sales - "As far as I know"... 🤣🤣🤣
Yep!
I cant believe you didn't know who Emily Dickenson was. wow.🤓
dude try selling themonly in america
It's not a scam so much as just a catch net for bad consumers.
There is nothing inherently relevant about any of those cards. If they used actual pieces of history and cut them up just to put them only vanilla backed boards with the same blurb that would be a crime.
It's like the pottery salesman that only sells two pots. One for 10 and one for 100. He makes the pots the exact same and yet tourists continue to show up and buy the more expensive pot.
FWIW, the books and newspapers are lesser hits. The newspaper wouldn't have been "read" by her, it would have had an article about her. Many times they buy a book signed my someone and take the auto for a 1/1, then cut up the book for the "relics". The original runs were much better because they would scan the full document and you could see where your little square came from. Some of those older series, at least, are totally legit historical articles. But I think your impression that she may have touched the newspaper based on other things in the hobby at large makes it feel like a scam if you dive in without looking into it all first. We have fun with them, for sure. Our favorite is a Ben Franklin from a land allotment document. It was signed by him, but it list all sorts of other names and property. Did he sign the document? Yes. is our sliver his handwriting... maybe... but it's still pretty fun to have in the collection.
Got a stack (20) of them for free from one of my friends who busted a bunch of packs. I like history themed cards and knew who all these people were, but yeah it's definitely junk. The "relics" are pretty much cut from old newspapers or books that can be bought at any flea market or antique shop for a couple bucks. Not worth the $30 pack price.
You're doing a good service calling this product out.
It bewilders me that you purchased a second box. I suspect the store guy lied about having a regular that buys the product and he got cool stuff. He was probably desperate to make unload it and clear it off his shelf space and just try to get his original investment back.
The only guy I could see buying this crap would be Rick from Pawn Stars 🤣😂
Those cards are so much more awesome than most others. Everyone is an all-star and famous.
I’m pretty sure the company that makes those “presidential trading cards” is called “Bottoms”……
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hook, line, and sinker or is that stinker. These companies live off the P.T. Barnum effect. The thrill of the overpriced chase is the scam. You're better off buying vintage cards that have a better chance of appreciating in value as long as there's an audience. Not so for this nonsense - here today gone tomorrow.
That’s a very intriguing statement
First off.. Did you ever pay attention in history or literature class? I think what they do is buy old 100 page journals for like $2k then cut it into 5,000 pieces. Not any more of a scam than buying a $60 blaster box of topps at Target and getting a bunch of .30 cards.
If you're looking to make money, you lost once you bought the box. If you're looking to complete a set or you enjoy opening packs, you scored!
Reminds me of those junk jersey fusion cards they had during the card boom a few years ago. They just used old cards from years ago and glued squares of jerseys to them and claimed they had value. Biggest trash I've ever seen. people in trailers were probably assembling them in their living room.
Really?
They look like junk. It's not a scam, there's probably SOMEONE who MIGHT collect it, but it's not worth the price (or hassle) to anyone else.
Who are these for?
They have like zero secondary value so typical card collectors don't want them, and if you collect historical artifacts you probably want actual authentic intact pieces.
All good points
"Let me tell you, the inside of that case is very elaborate and where most of the weight comes from. I mean, I guess, I haven't opened one of these."
Dude, this video was hella funny. Instant sub and about to binge watch lol. The home Network Sammy Sosa thing had me dying 💀💀🤣🤣
It says it could be from the time period also not necessarily held or read by the person on the card but of that time period. Definitely a big scam
Wait till u get boxes of cards with napkins in them and arent authentic or player worn ...thats a travesty
Do you thins this is a scam?
This is real and Bobby is just being a hater.
This is thin, Rigs...
MIGHTY thin... 😂😂😂
attributed to to me could even mean it just mentioned the person...and not the persons posession!
I'd rather open an Allan & Ginter hobby box and hope to get a dinosaur relic.
😂😂😂
Depending on your finances it is possible to enjoy being scammed. Remember dating in your 20’s……
Ha
Stick to sports cards. These types of cards are crap. Honestly, Panini is getting caught using patches from other players in cards.
I bought the same box a few months ago believing I got something special. It's such crap and we both got scammed!
Ugh, I’m sorry! Misery loves company.
We sell a lot of these boxes in our shop. The guy that pitched them to us was a museum curator. He said they have 1000s of pieces that they've rotated through museums. They created the cards to help pay for the museums. We can't keep them in stock.
Yeah totally agree, i had looked into buying some, but when i checked eBay and saw what you were likely to get i knew to pass on them. Thanks for confirming my suspensions.
Thanks for sharing!
Emily Dickinson was a poet
The word "attributed" is a lawyer word........ that means stay away and save your money, or spend it on something else. Thanks for the video, I don't plan on ever purchasing anything even remotely close to these types of "cards". Liked and subbed, I hope it helps offset the money spent on this mess.
it is exactly what it claims to be, lol. you foolishly wasted your money on a garbage product then make accusations. to be clear i am not defending this product. it is garbage but the blame for wasted money is on the purchasers
Lucky for you sir i have a genuine authentic Babe Ruth newspaper he read in the crapper for the low low price of $400.
I have a chuk of a hotdog a fellow diner patron Heimlich'd out of The Bambino following a night of binge drinking in Manhattan.
Those packs were pretty sad. The figures chosen to represent were not exciting or particularly interesting. I'd personally be more interested in a presidental themed card or something. The relic gimmick was awful, too.
I did really enjoy watching you open such an obscure product though, its like a little time capsule. No one is ever going to review or showcase these cards, but I just got a peek inside the packs.
Definitely a scam
Instantly subscribed to this channel!
Oh wow! Thanks !
Some Action Force Trading cards would be pretty awesome with some being drawings and some toy photography cards. Subbed
George Washington's hair on a relic card can't compare to my Jesus loincloth relic card. I have it in a PSA slab. Graded a 5 O.C.
100% not a scam. You just didn't hit the cards you wanted, even though you acted impressed when you initially pulled them.
It’s all in the eye of the collector lol. If you care about the subject it’s worth it but if your doing it for resale it’s worthless
That's true.
Also walmart sold me 2 monopoly prizm boxes cash when i get to my car noticed they were opened and the packs were gone and they wouldnt return them or even give me a sealed one
Ah bro that's rough. I probably would have gotten myself in trouble dealing with that. 😆
@@dustin66896 Oh I got mine lol all it takes is finding a tweaker in the area give em $5 bucks they'll come out with whatever u want lol
Holy sh*t when I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was someone grabbing Bawby's mug for a fake video.
Watching the first few seconds I thought "Wow, this is a really good AI of Bawby."
Then I realized it actually is a new channel! What a pleasant surprise!
Glad you’re here
Kinda cool. But don’t really believe any value. Might be wrong. Spidey senses say. Creators of cards are hoping. Doubting actual writings. Key they start off with newspaper clippings. ??? Still fun though. But I say. No value
The case is elaborate? Who cares?!
Emily Dickinson... The relic could be a piece of a page cut from a printed book, or poem she wrote. SMH
She's not even the greatest Dickinson in American history.
I wish they would tell you exactly what it is. At least you would know where and when this contacted the person.
I dont think its weird. Like there a card signed by davinci. It like isnt he dead . Who signed it
it's not a scam.. it's real i have a friend that collects these memorabilia!!
SCAM
If every relic card companies printed was worth tons of money, there would be more and more companies popping up essentially just printing money. The true purpose is educational. For example you didn’t even know who our 23rd U.S. president was. If a kid opens up a product like this, they will most likely be intrigued by the figure more so than the relic and research that person. Also you pay for the hunt, the thrill and the gamble. If you hit a 1/1 George Washington cut auto, you do actually make money from those cards and have a pretty cool piece of history in my opinion, which most people will never get to see or touch in person. Maybe you can call it a waste of money if you’re not into that sort of thing, but it’s not a scam!
Kids cant afford this tripe.
@ kids can’t afford the clothes they wear, the food they eat or even the gadgets that keep them entertained such as the phone or tablet that allow them to watch RUclips. I speak as a parent who invest in my child’s hobbies. Just because I sign my kid up to play little league baseball doesn’t mean that 15 years down the line, I expect that investment to turn into a big MLB contract. It’s an activity you share and enjoy to pass time and create memories. It is however possible to hit the jackpot, just shouldn’t call buying a lottery ticket a scam!
Lmao Emily Dickenson conversation has me sold😂 SCAM😂😂
Yea!?
Pokemon & Magic, etc. are not generally considered non-sports cards. They are collectable card games. CCG for short.
You're misunderstanding the relics. The newspaper relics aren't newspapers the person owned or read, but they are newspapers from their time. Like if they have a JFK newspaper relic it might be from a newspaper story about his death. That's a relic of the past..
The autographs are not cut up, you get the whole autograph, but they take letters the person wrote and cut them up, so you may get a Abe Lincoln card with just the word "the" on it. That's a word he wrote in the letter, so it is his handwriting.
Scams of the Past 🤣🤣
Wow so that was something. If you pull an actual kick ass card. But that’s one in a million right. Who gives a George Washington autograph away. The price point scares the hell out of me. If my wife found out I spent that on a pack of cards she’d get a knife
Hahaha
HI. pack. addict. just. joined. your. channel. good. video. love. cards. Have a. great. week
Although i dont know either if its authentic or not
Its worth it for somebody out there 😂
I could see how someone might appreciate these cards if they are both a card collector and history buff but this just seems sus, the authentication/certification language used on the back of the cards, and also no other info on the boxes?!?!? would lead me to think its a fraud
Came here for the new channel stayed for Emily D! To the Moooon!
Nice!
I can see why you bought them, very intriguing. I wonder if anyone pulled anything good from these?
I would love to know!
She’s a poet and you didn’t know it 🎉
Who?
I bought the bruce lee box around 6 months ago, there is lights on the box and i got a piece of bruce lees sparring gloves
Really!? Pics!
How do i put pics up on youtube lol sorry never done it and i cant see a option in the comments
@@PackAddictCards let me know were to send the pics 😁
nice review
Man....I want that Bruce Lee set....
It looked cool, but would it be worth it?
@@PackAddictCards For a Bruce Lee fan looking for something novel, absolutely.
I got one and it was a relic card with authentic piece of bruce lees sparring gloves , high end box inside with a spot to put your card and a light on top to show the cool card affect lol , although i spent a hefty price for it I didn’t mind as bruce lee was my idol growing up , so like you said if your a fan then its worth it - provided you get something good as i was lucky enough to get
That’s fair
I agree
Its a scam😂
Hmmmm, saw you coming........
What does that mean
Totally garbage cards scam
Ha!
The guy that owns this company is one of my customers. And he is a tight cheap ass scrooge. Never buys anything but top loaders. Quadruple Jewrelic should be in very box to explain his ability to scam. Yes his crap is total junk and has been making this for years. He is from Dallas.
🤔😐
Sports cards are like snake oil.
Scam for sure but most cards are. Like "player worn" jersey cards when all that means is the trading card company had the player put on jersey after jersey at a signing.
