    Thanks brother. Noticed one or two in comments called the silver connector the ballast. For them, no that is not the ballast. That is the igniter. The ballast is located on the bottom of the assembly. The igniter attached to the ballast. Two different items with quite a difference in cost.

    I have a 2013 g37 and recently had some condensation within the headlight mount which then blew out the factory bulb. have you ever experienced this ? ....
    would you suggest just replacing the bulb and keep it moving ?

    • @DJREDLINE305
      @DJREDLINE305  9 лет назад +2

      Yes I've seen condensation within these lights. My answer to u is that on some of the infinities they are built with a ventilation systems to help with change of weather. Now you can do two things ur car is a 2013, so depending on ur mileage and if you've been in an accident before with ur car u can take it into the dealer. If it's moisture cause from factory defects they will replace if it's moisture cause from a broken housing your on ur own. The other thing is u got to be sure it's the bulb and not the ballast/ actuator I would check both. To save yourself money I would remove my opposite bulb from the other working headlight and try first to make sure it's indeed the bulb. Hope this helps let me know if u have any problems.

    Good tutorial, the trouble is these oem bulbs last longer than the ballast and perhaps the igniter! If your light "burns out" it could very well not be the bulb itself. Wondering how to change out the igniter.

  • @DJREDLINE305
    @DJREDLINE305  9 лет назад

    Hello Joseph santos. Yes the ballast can be replaced on these models. You do not have to change the headlight assy. But you do have to remove the bumper to get to the ballast. I'll try to do a video on replacing the ballast very soon, working at the dealer I haven't really gotten a lot of ballast going bad tho, did you check the bulb thoroughly to make sure it's really inop

Also the light is more of a crystal white now, compared to stock which is more yellow. Wondering if i need to change the igniter. BTW passenger side yes you need to remove the bumber, drivers side i dont think so.

  • @jwhojme

    I attempted to replace my bulb last night (drivers side), however the new bulb did not turn on either. It may be worth noting, despite being sealed off well there is a considerable amount of condensation inside the headlight housing. I have been told that the hid bulbs are sensitive to condensation, so I am wondering if this may be the case.

    • @DJREDLINE305
      @DJREDLINE305  8 лет назад +1

      +jamie Seltzer It probably is the actuator that is located under the housing. The condensation are common on G35 but not g37 that's y there's a recall to change the headlights.on G35

    Great video. I have an '11 EX 35 with Halogens and looking to do an HID upgrade with relays & ballasts. Tried accessing the bulbs from the top & no way that was going to happen. The key is not breaking the fender liner clips or just having spares around if needed. Thanx!

    • @DJREDLINE305
      @DJREDLINE305  9 лет назад

      Thanks a lot. It's super easy to access from the fender liner but doing a hid upgrade you will need to do more than that. You will also need to remove the bumper also but yes be careful of ur clips don't break them. They are actually cheap but to drive to the auto part for that is a waste of ur time. But good luck on ur mission.

    Hey Conroy i was just curious as to if those were factory bulbs you used for the replacement? If so what is the kelvins on them? 8000k? The reason i ask is because i have a 2011 G37S coupe and the lights on mine dont seem to be as blueish. They are more like a crisp pure white. I want them to have a slightly more blueish tint so what would you recommend or do you have any bulbs to recommend to achieve that effect?

      Robert Carrillo hey man thanks for watching. So in that case I think you have the ballasts or harness that are shorted to ground causing the fuses to be blown. I’d check the wire harness first to make sure no open wires are there. And if not replace the ballasts or headlight assembly.
      Note: Make sure they are not aftermarket headlamps that are installed on your car. As those tend to do that sometimes...

    I did this and my driver's side dynamic headlight stopped turning when I turn. Help please

      So you have a swivel headlight. Commonly you might have had that problem before. Or it’ just got bad. The swivel motor in this case is inop. And the headlamp would need to be replaced. Changing the bulb would not do anything to the swivel actuator.

    What about the fog lights, how do I replace them?

    • @DJREDLINE305
      @DJREDLINE305  8 лет назад

      You access them underneath the bumper towards the front. Three 10mm bolts. Pull down the plastic and twist out the bulbs. Hope that works for you.

    Not really sure how hard it is to replace the ballast on that particular model since they don't go bad. But in assuming it's not hard at all cause it can be seen by the headlight when u open the hood. Unlike the newer m 45 and m37s u have to take the bumper out

  • @DJREDLINE305
    @DJREDLINE305  9 лет назад

    It's either gonna be the bulb or the ballast

      I have a 2010 g37. Is that ballast going out common? My low and high beams just stopped working on the left today. I noticed after I drove through a big puddle and it's been raining much. Could I have damaged the ballast or should I just replace the bulb first, in your opinion.

    • @DJREDLINE305
      @DJREDLINE305  9 лет назад

      +henry vanegas you definitely could damage both. I would first check fuses, then bulbs then ballast. Just remove ur right side xenon bulb and put it in the left and see if it works. Before going to the auto part to spend money

    i have a 2008 g35 and water got into both front head lights. is it better to replace the head lights as a whole or change out the ballast and wires.

    • @DJREDLINE305
      @DJREDLINE305  8 лет назад

      Hi Virginia I would suggest changing both headlights because if water went into the previous light it's going to go in there again

    I attempted to do this today and it was a major fail! I couldn’t even get the cover off to get to the light. Ducking broke a couple clips too smh. I realize nobody shows how to change the front parking light?

    • @DJREDLINE305

      Tyrell Drydgen you can change the parking light the the same way or from above

    @0:09 that blue wire. It came out and I didnt notice till 2 days later after it had rained. Now the light wont work. Do you think the condensation caused this? If so can I just replace the bulb?

    • @DJREDLINE305
      @DJREDLINE305  4 года назад +1

      Mojo Jojo honestly if that blue wire came out it’s definitely a possibility that condensation is a factor. However 90% of the time condensation in the headlight will caused the ballast to go, because it’s at the bottom of the headlight. So I’m assuming you need the ballast. But to be on the safe side and to be sure check the headlight fuse and swap the other bulb from the other headlight and you’ll definitely narrow it down that way. Hope this answer you’re question my friend. Lmk...

    Nice ... Bro how do I check my brake fluid? @djredline

    • @DJREDLINE305
      @DJREDLINE305  7 лет назад +1

      Di Trillest Xxx the brake fluid reservoir is located right below the windshield on the driver side of the engine bay depending on your year it probably will or will not have a plastic cover in the compartment

    • @djralshmighty2713
      @djralshmighty2713 7 лет назад

      DJ REDLINE Copy... so I jus open it up n refill? R I have to drain the old one out?

    • @DJREDLINE305
      @DJREDLINE305  7 лет назад +1

      Di Trillest Xxx If the fluid is very dirty I recommend you do a flush so you would actually bleed the brake to get rid of that old fluid. But if it's clean and just low just too it off to the "MAX" level don't overfill.

    Hello, very informative video !. My car was hit by a truck tire in the highway, and I broke my fog lamp bezel. I found the part but Im not sure if is possible to replace it following the instruction in your video. Please let me know if you have done that type of job before. This is the part number I am trying to replace 622571NX0B. Thanks in advance

      The fog lamp is completed replacesable. But you need to go from the bottom of the fender liner to replace it.
