    I bought one long ago for my 29 gal. Nice but not recommended.
    1. If placed under the aquarium cabinet, you are always going to have a chamber you can’t see.
    2. If you replace the collection cup with a fleece roller or sock and place a ProteinSkimmer there will be no space for bio filtration.
    3. Pump section is small. If you need to adjust the pressure of the pump your hands will not fit in the chamber.
    4. If your water level is below 7.5 air will get trapped under the collection cup. To release the air you will need to unscrew the collection cup.
    5. Water flows from the top to the return pump. if the water level is low yet not too low in the return pump chamber, the pump will push splashing micro bubbles to the tank.
    6. If your water level is 7 1/2 or higher be ready to change or clean your filter every o there day.

      Update:
      1. I removed the collection cup . And used that chamber for Chaetomorpha and copepods This way I don’t have to worry about filter replacement. I use the Túnze 8821 for lighting. On the side.
      2. I use the skimmer section for sand and a Brightwell Aquatics XPORT BIO BRICK.
      3. I also used the skimmer section for Octo 90 HOB skimmer. Having a nano or a hang in the back skimmer allows increase the water volume.
      Thank you.

    I actually set mine up a week ago. It is a nice sump, however a 125w heater is a tight fit. You'll have to really plan out the equipment and power cords because of the tight space. It would be really awesome if the probe holder had an option for more standard size probes. I ran 1" drains to it so I had to remove the bulkheads as they didn't fit the furniture grade pipes. The baffle takes some fiddling with to get the right amount of water over it without hearing trickling. All told I'd give it an 8 out of 10! Great nano sump.

    I really wish you would've given more information on which skimmers fit and what filter roller you used

      Here is a link to the filter roller: www.bulkreefsupply.com/di-4-drop-in-fleece-filter-system-klir.html
      As far as skimmers go, anything that has a footprint less than 12"L x 7.5"W will work 😀

    I enjoy all your videos Thomas, its giving me alot of insight into different ways of doing things and whats a possible better option. Would you be able to do a possible video of connecting the red dragon pumps to the Neptune apex? I cant find a video anywhere on this subject and alot of reefers on forums are looking for the same thing. Thanks in advance!

    I have had the 24 gallon version of this sump for a year and it’s great. The only defect is that the small refugium section is all but useless sine there is nothing that can be done to keep the chaeto from being washed over into the return section. Believe me, I’ve tried everything short of cutting the baffle to put some teeth in it. I hate filter socks and run a small piece of filter pad in the basket that I swap out twice a week when I’m on a feed cycle. It literally takes seconds and I throw it away. That alone make the sump worth it.

    • @rolisreefranch
      @rolisreefranch 2 года назад

      @@jdamommio I did consider that, actually. Could probably jam it in place as the "weir" has no teeth, but have a sense that It'll just get caught on it... who knows. My nutrients are so low that I no longer need a 'fuge in that tank.

    Could I add a fuge by dividing the skimmer section into two compartments with another baffle?

    Another nice video Thomas, thank you for sharing, could you talk about the skimmer that you used in this video for this sump the same goes for the roller filter, If I am going to buy this sump will be nice to know those 2 pieces of equipment I mentioned. for the pump I am thinking of the mighty jet 538 gph. hopefully you can let me know about the skimmer ant the roller filter. thank you again, for your awesome videos...

      The skimmer is an Eshopps S-120 and the roller mat is a Di-4 from Klir. I'll post links for both of those below if you wanted to check them out.

    Unfortunately me and bulk reef supply have had a falling out. I understand that world wide corals sponsors brs, however as a consumer I don't feel you should ignore my post about not wanting to purchase online anymore from your sponsored friends

    • @BulkReefSupply
      @BulkReefSupply  2 года назад

      Hey @Yeee Entertainment,
      We are definitely good friends with the folks at WWC, but not sponsored by them. Totally fine if you want to use another online vendor for your corals or if you didn't want to shop for livestock online at all 🙂 Apologies for any misunderstanding.

    • @BulkReefSupply
      @BulkReefSupply  2 года назад +2

      Pre-made sumps might seem costly, but there is a lot of acrylic work that goes into making them look this good 😀 If you're after something a little more budget friendly, you can always pick up a 10 gallon aquarium from your local pet store and make your own baffles or even use one of these DIY baffle kits from Fiji Cube.
