Looks absolutely fabulous Kristen. Dropping them all 6" made a huge difference. So much better. Your new home is beautiful. Thank you for teaching us all how to do a gallery wall. X
just a quick note I wasn’t being sarcastic or a know-it-all, I promise I just am really curious as to why they needed to be dropped down such a short distance I use an I- phone exclusively (meaning I don’t see the larger versions of all the images on a computer so I can only say that when hanging picture & mirrors etc it is very easy important not to hang them too high ! it most certainly is much newer to have them a little lower than ever before, only exception I’ve seen to that I have been able to see is hanging over a fireplace it’s just naturally going to be higherP.S. You’re doing an amazing job on a budget K. & I bet it’s for (2) reasons (1) your heart is in it meaning you enjoy all the creativity of the hunt the savings & the satisfaction of discovering your own personal style & you love doing it for your family, I see so much of me in you what I mean by that is that I can tell you I can’t remember a time when I didn’t already know pretty much exactly what I liked, but I to had to start out on a budget but can you believe that when I was where you are I had two little ones I was working full time & thrift stores (at least as far as I knew back then,?late 60’s & eary 70’s did not even exist ? Or maybe they did & I just didn’t know about them & & besides if they did exist they would have pretty much been a taboo in other words people would have been ashamed to admit they bought something from one of those what a wonderful glorious time to be starting out for you young folks just starting out
Newbie today. How absolutely refreshing to hear your "confession" and see a quick update. Your eye for aligning is near perfect and I love the finished display.
Hi Kristen, I would recommend furniture touch up markers to fill in the scratches on your end tables. They work great on all wood scratches and knicks on picture frames, tables, dressers, etc. and come in a variety pack of different colors. You can find them on Amazon. Hope this helps. I really enjoy your channel. 😊
Hi, Kristen. Gallery walls can be a challenge. You did a great job and were real in telling us your mistake. It turned out great!! So glad to hear you promoting another young woman's channel. You made the Lord smile! Appreciate you, Kristen. Let your light shine. It's almost time for OU football....Boomer Sooner! Greetings from Oklahoma. Jane Greene
Dear Jane, it's great to see an OU fan, here!! My great-niece was excepted, & now attending OU we are Soo proud of her, she's the first in our family to attend OU!! ❤️ 😁🍂
The gallery wall turned out beautifully ! I know if something feels off, I won't be satisfied til its fixed. Also I have a thrift shop that sells large art books for $5.00 each. Picasso, Monet, Rubens, various artist, painters and themes. They make such great wall art. I just got one that is all birds nests!!!!! Can't wait to frame some and get them up. Maybe a gallery wall of all nests!!!!!
Hi Kristen, I sooooo love this video! I'm a person who wants to do a gallery wall but I can't seem to figure out how to make it look cohesive but not matchey-matchey! I also have to say your new home is so beautiful! Blessings to you and your family as you make it your own!
Love this video. This is what I have been wanting to see from you. Show us how you are using your thrifted finds. Don't worry about the places that are works in progress. That is life and we totally understand.
Your gallery wall looks fabulous! I have attempted a gallery wall and honestly had it looking a hot mess. Arranging it on the floor first was a great idea as well as spacing and the balance of shapes and types of frames and art! I may give it another try after these tips!
I love your idea of taking prints from a book and putting them in frames never thought about doing that. I also love how you balanced out each of the frames based on the 2 inch line, based on shapes, sizes, and starting with the frames in the middle to align the bottom and sides of the middle frames into a side ways L shape before moving onto the outer layer
Love love love the way your gallery wall turned out!! It truly brought this space to life! Thank you so much for collaborating with me today friend!! 🤍🤍🤍
I love it so much, Kristen.☺️ I agree with you. 1 Gallery Wall, per eye view. I am lol because my sister (Tarah) just came over and hung glass shelves and I realized they were too high, also in the wrong spot. 🙃 She came back over and fixed them.☺️✨ Lovely Wall.✨
Absolutely love it I do the same way you hang your pictures this is all new home right I really like the living room window facing the front yard and your porch
Just curious, Have you tried the sofas facing each other in front of the fireplace? Then a sofa table behind the sofa that would be in front of the pocket doos. And a low table between the two sofas??? Just a suggestion. Everything is beautiful. I love your style.
I'm thinking about maybe doing something like this during Christmastime. The only problem is that we spend a lot of time in here after the girls go to bed watching our shows. I don't think we would both be able to see the tv.
I … what can I say … “cheated” with my gallery wall. I put up 3 rows of long narrow shelves, I added trim to the front of the shelves, to match the other walls in the living room. That way I can change/move the paintings to my heart’s content ! 😅
Lowering everything does make a difference! My husband, who is a designer, has a pet peeve of artwork hung too high or too low. Your gallery wall looks good!
This was so fun! I’m currently struggling with a gallery wall. I keep walking by it and feel something’s off. Thanks for sharing your process. If walls could cry mine would have plenty of areas to shed tears (my mistakes). 😫😅
Great accomplishment Kristen, and you didn't give up! Doing that gallery wall took a lot of patience and eyeballing skill (lol) and it came out really nice!
Looks really good! 🥰 I hang pictures the exact same way you do. Eyeball it and mark where my finger is lol! I don't have patience to do the paper method lol! 😄

I love Leah, been following her for a long time. Do NOT underestimate you talent, style and personality…oh my goodness…love you just as much! You two are well matched for this collaboration! I adore Leah’s house , I always tell her her house screams “ I’m home” …. Love it and yours sweet girls is turning into that same amazing looks and feel. I’m always excited when you BOTH post new videos! If I’m not commenting for the next 2-6 weeks, I have NOT left you…. I’m headed in for surgery tomorrow for my eyes. It is a recovery that involves laying flat on my stomach with my face down…😢😢😢. My anxiety levels are in overdrive ! I have a bad back, hip bone, plates and screws for a neck and pinned shoulders. I don’t DO FLAT …I sleep in a recliner because of pain…..please pray for me …ask God to give me courage, PATIENCE, and comfort in my soul! I’ll be listening to many sermons during this time to calm my mind! BEAUTIFUL GALLERY WALL KRISTEN…don’t t underestimate your talent and style it is wonderful! God bless 🍁🍁🍁❤️🍁🍁🍁
I will be praying for you, Jayne! Thank you for always being here for me. I'm so sorry to hear about your eyes. I have been loving the John Mark Comer Teachings Podcast. So many life-changing sermons!
Love it! A lot of times scratches like that are just deep enough that they take of the finish. If you have some polish or oil to try, that’ll protect the wood and take out those scrapes. If it’s deep, just search RUclips, lots of people restore furniture and there are TONS of videos on how to fix it
Can clean down with half vinegar and half olive oil. Can fill in scratches with waxy type shoe polish….works great . Let it harden off and wax over with furniture wax
I love your landscape prints and the gallery wall looks great! I want to do a mirror gallery wall in my dining room. I’ve been following both you and Leah Orr for a while and enjoy both channels!
Absolutely love your gallery wall!!! Love your channel lady!!! So glad I found you a while back!!! Your too cute!!!! Love this. I really want to make a gallery wall above my couch too!!!🤗🤗
I am loving this video, I am laughing not at you but with you because I hand my pictures the same way, eyeball and use the finger method. Works every time.
Lol 😂 you are a trip!! I started noticing how you were pointing your finger and you then apologized. Lol I laughed so hard. And the wall looks better since you went down 6 inches. I watch Leah Too! Love y’all both
What a beautiful job you did! You have a lovely eye for decorating. It’s funny because when I saw your Instagram post, I loved it but also thought it looked too high on the wall. I look forward to all your videos. ❤️
I also like touch up markers:) I had a scratch on my pie safe that bugged me. I just got some sand paper and it was not hard to sand out a top piece. Then you can apply a stain that is similar:) and you have a new top❤️
Kristen, Great job on your gallery wall & a good call to fix the height! Suggestion to think about: a round higher table in the corner between the two couches. The table there now is meant for an end and to access the draw. Also, think about trying the plant next to the fireplace, to put weight on that side of the room. I always love your videos. You inspire me. Adie from CT. 🍁
When you're marking the wall for the nail, roll a bit of painters tape on your finger. When you touch the wall the tape will stick. You won't need to hope your finger stays in the right spot while you get your pencil. Love the wall.
Exact same thing happened to me I had to move everything and added three more art pieces and now I think it looks awkward but I will have to get used to it for now, it’s a lot of work! Yours turned out beautiful!
@kristenhoffman Your end table can be easily "fixed" by using Howard Feed n' Wax Wood Polish & Conditioner (it's an all-in-one product that you just wipe on and see those scratches fade away) :) Love your home!!
Hello! I am also a Kristen! I am coming from Leah's channel! Love your channel and subscribing! Ive been trying to find more people that have your style and thrift a lot and I love your channel so far. Your home is gorgeous.
A tip,I found to work is use masking tape to put where the nails will go. You have some beautiful pics. Your gallery wall turned out amazing!👏 I honestly thought you raised them due to head room while sitting on the sofa. Lol idk why but I always think a mirror looks good in the center when doing a gallery wall with a mirror, however yours looks like it's in the perfect spot. 😁 (I would've never thought mixing winter & floral scenes next to each other? 🤔)
Looks great 👍❤️ I'm going to do a small gallery wall in my hallway, but I keep putting it off!! I'm afraid I won't get everything evenly distributed. Watching you do yours gave me inspiration though! Thanks 👍😊
Hey girl! So love the end tables!!! Maybe try the markers ( I have some I grabbed mine at Lowe's they work sometimes and sometimes it's not how I want it to look..), if not I've rubbed a stain same color (or as close as I could find) into the scratches.. or sand the top very lightly and restain.. if that doesn't work- put a tray on the table and put the lamp on top of the tray and add a few trinkets, books candle etc and call it a day😆! Also I know you're joking, but we love you- not leaving...and you're awesome I love your vibes!! I was watching the vid about when you found the house and you panned out on Zillow ( forgot to comment on that vid was multitasking).. I was like omg it's in Iowa.. I have been looking out there (job is possibly transferring)- I love the character of the houses!!!! I'm not a country girl, but I can always catch a flight to somewhere; I want my home to ooze my style, personality and tell my story ( all my moves, trips and thrifting trips 😆😆) and the houses there were definitely giving me all the feels ( idk about that cold weather though 😒😂)!! Also love how you pump up your fellow youtubers.. that support is just who you are..love it!! *** back to watching the vid..too bad I don't eat popcorn haha*** LOL so how you hang pictures I do that or hold a thumb tack in my mouth and pop it in the wall😂, or a try to put a nail mark in the wall with my fingernail🤦♀️ crisscrossed and then just put the hanger on the wall lawdy 😆
@@KristenHoffman aww thanks for writing back! Yes, I love Iowa schools ( we took the Iowa Test of Basic Skills back when I was a kid😉) and you are right about those winters -better than Wisconsin ( one of the other transfer options 🥶)!!! I'm a Mid-East Coast born and bred girl, but I have been through some blizzards out east growing up and one while living in CO...we shall see lol🤗
Loved that snap at the end, bringing it all down to a more pleasing level! 👌😅

Love how you pointed the lines in your gallery wall. I never considered using that to build my wall.

I am lol because my sister (Tarah) just came over and hung glass shelves and I realized they were too high, also in the wrong spot. 🙃 She came back over and fixed them.☺️✨ Lovely Wall.✨

Love how your gallery wall turned out - you have some very lovely prints.
Thank you so much, Robyn! I've been collecting them for years.
Your gallery wall looks fabulous Kristen. Glad you lowered all the pictures, makes a huge difference aesthetically.

Thank you so much, Gina!
*** back to watching the vid..too bad I don't eat popcorn haha***
LOL so how you hang pictures I do that or hold a thumb tack in my mouth and pop it in the wall😂, or a try to put a nail mark in the wall with my fingernail🤦♀️ crisscrossed and then just put the hanger on the wall lawdy 😆
Nebraska and Iowa are great! We have winters, but they're nowhere near as bad as the northern states.
Beautiful gallery wall Kristen!
