I wanted to study Indian music at his San Rafael school. Being trained in classical music, my parents didn't allow me or understand my dreams, much less pay my tuition for this opportunity. But that only made my heart resolve to love his music more than ever. This artist is just as wonderful as any great classical music. One man melody maker.
I remember in one of his interviews he has had told that if you practice for 10 years you may please yourself, after 20 years you may become performer and please the audience, after 30 years you may please your guru (teacher), but you must practice for many more years before you finally become a true artist then you may even please god. I had the rare privilege of listening to the great masterpieces provided in the" Journey" and some other pieces and I can rate him as the greatest musicisn our country has been lucky to have.He may not be alive today but, his legacy and music will remain for ever.

He is a great national treasure of America, the country I am from. I heard him when I was 17 years old in Berkeley CA. I love his special contribution to humanity and dedication to his God-given art.
