Also you shouldn't feel like you're discouraging him from the game. It's on him. Edison has it's layers but in the end it ain't THAT difficult, so ye it ain't on u
Game 1 6:38 I think the best play would be to book of life back your pyramid and syncro into ha des then drop dad, attack dad over stardust and ha des over necro which then is negated forever by ha des. Saves mind control and 3 darks in grace for a follow up next turn
7:25 Don't target Necro Gardna with Book of Life, it can be chained in response and will still negate your first attack in the bp of that turn. Ab Zero is the correct target.
i usually don't mind if people take back plays if they're newer. on the other hand making a mistake and having to play through it is a very effective way of learning something. i still remember mistakes from 2015 that cost me finals
I allow small take backs with new players too and yeah sometimes you get punished for allowing it, sometimes they learn faster if you let it sting when they make a bad play so it’s up to you. I’m very forgiving when dueling in the hopes that my opponents will be like that with me if I make a stupid misplay. Also the mat is clean af and mic sounds good ❤
imma be real chief at like 13:00 where u had solemn, dp, starlight, and MIRROR FORCE IN YOUR HAND, you should have set the mirror and waited for him to play something like the stardust, bait him into battle dp the stardust he solemns, you have the solemn and then you can mirror the rest of the field to nuke the field. Like you would have cooked him from that cuz you still the set and you can try to go off from there.
If someone is new to the tournament scene I’d probably allow one take but If he plays advanced I wouldn’t let him take back plays, he should know better
Game 1: good plays just don’t move your spells/traps to different zones…you could have mind controlled the necro and gone for some other plays there Game 2: You’re sat on all back row and no monsters outside of Mezuki. Solemn the Brain Control every time since you have follow up to any other plays he could possibly do, unless he miracles, but you’re so down on cards that actually do anything. Sure mezuki could go to grave so you can get another goblin search but it doesn’t really help you in that situation since you keep drawing traps. You also stacked for plague and didn’t even get to summon it, so now you stacked a trap. You should be setting all of the backrow since you only get hardcore punished if he has exactly MST on the SLR and Heavy for the rest. If you had Solemned the Brain Control earlier on he would have had to use more cards, including probably Miracle Fusion in order to out the Goyo, and couldn’t stop Solemn at the time since he was Brain Controlling with an empty field. Game 3: Versus the Mali after you get Dustshooted you don’t have any backrow to protect the Dyna. Sure he can’t use the mali effect next turn but your Dyna is going to get outed if he draws an Ocean or a Grepher/Arma Knight, which he does funnily enough. He didn’t commit any other cards to the field meaning he likely doesn’t have another backrow in hand. A stronger play imo is to use the Book of Life to bring back the Zombie Master and summon the Spirit Reaper to take a card from his hand, because he’s likely sitting on a dead Miracle Fusion. Sure you’ll end up taking damage the next turn when he draws the Arma but he has to commit all of his remaining cards in order to out the Zombie Master and Spirit Reaper. Your play to “Bounce his 6” could have also been steal the Mali and then make the 8 using the other Diva, but there’s no backrow to protect from his follow up using his Mali so its a similar sort of play but you’re down the Diva and the Book instead of Reaper and Book. The Reaper play very easily could have sniped the DDV from his hand which ended up killing the rest of your game plan.
I think takebacks is acceptable in playtesting bc your goal is to get better and not necessarily winning. In tournament ,there shouldnt be takebacks. The player who made a mistake needs to learn from mistakes to become a better player.
Yeah, the turn you crashed plague that was definitely a pretty negative play for sure. You could have just made goyo and taken the stardust dragon dropped dark armed and ended the game
Without even watching the vid, my rule for take backs is simple : if we playtest it's chill, if it's tournament mode, it's not
Also you shouldn't feel like you're discouraging him from the game. It's on him. Edison has it's layers but in the end it ain't THAT difficult, so ye it ain't on u

Or
Book of life zombie master, syncro into Goyo, Goyo take stardust. Then you have DAD for a follow up with stardust on field to protect.
1:31 Huge Pause
1:33 most outta pocket comment 😂

Thank you for the tip 🤝
