I've had the opposite problem to you. For me, Isolation is the only place where I feel I can do what I want without having to look to an audience for approval. My fears about other people have held me back way longer than you've been held back. I've lost over a decade to trying please people I don't even know, who wouldn't care either way. Not everyone can actually find a group that aligns with their values. This is my curse. I've burned ever bridge I've tried to build. You probably don't care.
Thanks for sharing your perspective-that is really tough. But it’s good to remember that other devs face struggles that can be solved by opposite actions, so I’m glad that you’re willing to talk about it. I’m sorry you’ve felt held back by the opinions of others. The best games are made by devs who feel passionate and excited about their ideas, in my opinion. So please don’t give up! What are you working on now?
@@SoulEngineDev brain storming a lot of stuff but i think the most immediate thing i wanna do is a mostly simple, non-profit fangame to start with, then see if i can tackle the big ideas!
I would like to invvest more into my voice but I have a speech impediment therefore last time tried making a video people tend to barely understand me. same when I join a discord call I have to resort to typing.
Thanks for sharing this! We all have things that are more difficult for us than others, I think it just gives us the chance to be more creative. I saw your comment about using AI for your voice, that’s definitely interesting and potentially a good idea! Don’t stop looking for ways to make it work. There are so many things that tech can help us do these days.
Whole message feels so genuine and warm 🤗

How have you became a better dev over the years! Lets us know!
By allowing myself to have fun, and realizing that I love the puzzle of coding complicated stuff cleanly and efficiently.
Ah, I gotta play Eastward again, such a charming game.

I had to update the description. There should be a link in there now, pumped to have you!
@ wow, even if that was an auto response. It made me feel welcomed. I just wanna hang out with other devs and learn to make beautiful games.
