I sincerely appreciate how incredibly comprehensive and thoughtful your channel is. I don’t understand why people harass and beg you for recipes when there’s 1 billion free recipes out there. You’re explaining theory so thoroughly that it helps me decide how to formulate my recipes. Thank you!
I have a question on using a M&P soap for the base…. Would there be any problem with using a detergent free melt and pour soap instead of a regular formulation? Example- crafters choice detergent free baby buttermilk melt and pour soap base
@@MrsSoapAndClay awe, thank you SO much for answering me Mrs. Soap and Clay! You are my favorite to learn from (been soaping for 3 years now and studied ingredients for over a year before that) you are gold doll!!! ❤️
WHat percentage of additives do you use?.... I'm thinking this could be the best shampoo for hubby.... he has your kind of life style, so his hair get really dirty, really fast
mystified again! I have watched so many people make soap, including one who primarily makes soaps from M&P bases, and always hear about not adding much if anything other than color and scent...I feel like I'm learning anew watching your content!
Melt and pour bases are made the same way hot and cold process soaps are; the only difference is the solvents that are put in to make it remeltable (glycerin, alcohols, etc), so you can add the same amount of clays and what not to it as you can cold process. I would always keep the fragrance low though; not much is needed as m&p soaps have already gone through saponification so the scent will stick well.
@@MrsSoapAndClay Man I am so glad I found your channel.. I have learned more from you in a month than I did in nearly a year without even asking the questions... You Ma'am, are a rock star!

Came here after watching Brad Mondo's video 😁

Nope it would be fine. I make all of my melt and pour from scratch and don’t include detergents in the bases 95% of the time.

Hey thanks! I did not lower the pH of the M&P. :)
