NEW COURSE - LEARN MUSIC THEORY Hi everyone - just to let you know I’ve just released a brand new course, Learn Music Theory. Quick, practical and fun, it takes you from square one through to more advanced topics like modes and chromatic harmony. 9 hours of video, quizzes, course text and much more. Check it out here: thinkspaceeducation.com/courses/lmt/
"see that chord shape I was talking about ..." you mean the one that nobody's left hand can shape apart from yours!! Another peach Guy - lockdown has been so much more bearable thanks to you - what a fun way to learn/reinforce - cheers!
On the BBC discovery survey, I listed you and your channel. I'm sure I'm not alone. Hopefully they.... Appreciate... Your review. You really do excite, inspire and make things look easy and possible . Big high fives and happy hugs.
Saw him among the birthday list on IMDb this morning, 67 years young. Wasn't sure if the timing of the video was intentional or just a lucky coincidende. Someone send him a Guy cut-out for an appropriate reply (just in case he doesn't have one already)! 😂
@@ThinkSpaceEducation It's a tribute to you that Danny Elfman decides to spend his birthday stalking you. And it's not an accident he chose you to stalk. He likes being around people that are a little bonkers (like Tim Burton)
Eyyy, this may be the scariest teacher I’ve ever came across. Just brill. How he incorporate Music Theory in That is genius. More Plz. Greetings from Sweden
That was really funny. I was totally expecting to see Danny Elfman show up at some point in the recording and for you to do a collaboration of some sort, or discuss the piece you were working on.
Guy... not only is your composition brilliant, but your comedy is utterly amazing. Thanks for the laugh! Plus tell the young man at Sospiro that I purchased his software because of you! Thank you sir!
Great fun,the strings finally added the back story, a buried memory of times when Your relationship with Danny were happier, that was before "it" happend.
I finally got a chance to watch this, having had it parked for a few days. It's beautiful getting to see you create, to see your process in real time. You speak music, and help me understand the "feel", how to tell a story with music. It resonates with me on a fundamental level.
Brilliant just pure and genuinely brilliant. Well done man for all the amazing content you put out there. Whoever disliked your video understands very little of music.
I just love this, Guy. The fun is there, the theme/idea is there and you go for it from scratch so playfully. I get in my way when starting up something new. And Guy reminds me: Just stárt... and don't lose yourself in the details.
I would be spooked. Frightening resemblance to a young Reg Dwight. You are right on suspense. Keep it simple is good advice. A few bum notes should do the trick. PS - On the bird front, we have a pair of majestic Red Kites that patrol up and down generally minding their own business and then all hell breaks out when they get too close for comfort to the nesting Jackdaws. The wretched things scramble and take off at breakneck speed and then it's the bandits at one o'clock routine with some highly entertaining aerial acrobatic combat!
Hahahaha The music would have been so different if Guy was the A list composer stalking my home. Happy, cheerful, celebratory music; windows and doors which I usually keep locked and secure 'somehow ' all 'mysteriously' open. Thank you for sharing your gift, time, knowledge and beautiful energy with all of us and our individual Muse Guy. I appreciate you and your work. Wishing you continued, unique and engaging creativity. 🙂🎶
I really enjoy your videos ! Thank you very much for your time and energy. You make very helpful content. By the way 12:40 reminds me of Dark Synthwave genre. :) Didn't see that coming ! :P
Great scoring. Was pondering during the portion where you were auditioning Pandora fx from ps; the flutey fx sound great would a child's voice doing a legato ooh/ah/oh thing with gobs of sploshy verb and a little delay fit well? (Creep factor). Or too much?
Hoping you'll do some work with Pluginguru's UNIFY not that it is out with all the new features.... Seems fitting since he's going about creating a library for the BBC Strings! ;)
I may have nightmares tonight! But hey, where do I get a cardboard cutout of you? Need the inspiration. Guy, would you consider going over your hardware that you use? Would be really helpful to know what is essential for a budget studio setup.
How can you not love this man.... I mean he went from "Croatian soap opera" to "The world will be infested by hamsters" .... never mind the fact that Danny is stalking him.. :D
I love, love, love your studio and the building in which it’s housed. Was it a greenhouse at one point? Did you steal it from the wife? (I’m kidding 😂) I’ve got grand plans to build one of my own and yours is very inspirational. And thank you so much for your videos and all the useful information!❤
I wish music lessons had been this fun at school. The most fun we had in lessons was on purposely pronouncing "Haydn" as "Hayden" because it triggered the teacher.
Oh man, isn't that the truth. In that case I would've learned music theory the proper way instead me right now just stumbling along trying to play without any real understanding of the theory.
Wish I could transition into doing this for a living, but wouldn't know how to get a job at the end of the courses. I've been a band director for nine years.
Brilliant! You know, Guy, if this composing thing doesn't pan out, you could have a bright future as an actor. Have you considered auditioning for Doctor Who?
Hi sir I need to create a room tone and rolling tone but all I have is a iPhone to record have a app called voice 7 Pro that has the option to record sample rate 96hz and I want to record sounds around my apartment to bring back in my daw Logic Pro X what are the steps you would do ?
I just started watching your channel the other day, and I don't think I've ever finished one of your videos because I get so inspired I stop watching and start creating

its a great course, nearly finished and made up for all those years of giving up and putting things in the too hard basket
I swear, this man's enthusiasm makes this stuff enjoyable more than usual.
That's one of the reasons I like his videos so much.
Imagine writing music without a wide-ranging personality? Videos are inspirational. For those of us with sheds and those without.
@@johnmcvicker6728 *In Michael Caine's voice* Cor blimey, I need me a shed too!!
I love that you're just having a blast in your life and recording it to us
Exactly. He has so much fun doing it. I love his energy.
Agreed
So much joy in his vids, always makes my day :)
the ending is just pure genius XD
Owning a cardboard cut out of Danny Elfman is such a Guy thing to do :)

Same
#metoo ;)
Same here
COMPLETLEY agree on that. (Did the same too, lmao)
Personally i would like to see Danny Elfman's "I think i'm being stalked by some dude called Guy Michelmore?" Who he? 🤣
Oh yes! A response video :)
Hahaha. Agreed
Literally the best composing channel on RUclips by leaps and miles. Love your videos, Guy!
Ashton - Im a fan of your stuff as well
Very fitting, it's Danny's birthday today! 🎂
NO! Is it?! Wow well...er....Happy Birthday Mr Elfman! Thanks for being a genius!

@@ivo4357 that is no joke lol
I had to score a film about a snooker tournament, never doing that again, so many cues.
Ha ha ha
Surely you could write a groove that really sits in the pocket? It'd be a ball! Oh well, chalk it up to experience...
Huge man love to this Guy! Inspirational, funny, animated and so kind hearted sharing his wealth of knowledge. Was that Danny Elfman or Elton John???
This was brilliant! Always learn here. Major Program Interruptus at the end. Network hastily reverts to "Test Card with Music" Too funny!

This might be my favorite video you've done so far Guy hahahahah
I found this hilarious. Great editing. You are the best presenter on RUclips.
Great fun,the strings finally added the back story, a buried memory of times when Your relationship with Danny were happier, that was before "it" happend.
Oh man, I dig your interpretive teaching style. I will be watching you...
I finally got a chance to watch this, having had it parked for a few days.
It's beautiful getting to see you create, to see your process in real time. You speak music, and help me understand the "feel", how to tell a story with music. It resonates with me on a fundamental level.
And that first inversion at the end made it too scary , hence the ending , haha! Thanks for the video .
You're a very silly man Mr Michelmore.
Love it!
I hope Danny left you in good elf...👻
Brilliant just pure and genuinely brilliant. Well done man for all the amazing content you put out there. Whoever disliked your video understands very little of music.
Wonderfully stalky!
Your tip about cc64 has cured a problem I frequently have.
I just love this, Guy. The fun is there, the theme/idea is there and you go for it from scratch so playfully. I get in my way when starting up something new. And Guy reminds me: Just stárt... and don't lose yourself in the details.
Bonkers!😂😂 love this guy.
Thank you Guy, Absolutely brilliant! (Especially the last 10 seconds.)
I hardly can express how much I enjoy this channel and your videos!
Who else thought that the real Elfman might actually show up???? ; )
What an ending, utter brilliance Guy!
Brilliant and hilarious - so much fun watching your videos, don't stop!
If RUclips did Oscars you would get one

Your channel is really exceptionnal. To be so entertaining while instructive is an amazing quality. Thank you so much to share this with us !
How many creeper Elfman sequences would you like in the video?
Guy: Yes
I joke, I joke. Amazing video as always! Your enthusiasm is infectious!
That was great "Stalking music", great knowledge of libraries, and a very entertaining video... Thank you!
Brilliant, so refreshing.
You makes us feel the music and the story behind.
Thank you
Brilliant video. Both humorous and highly informative. Thanks Guy ✊🏾
brilliant as usual ! original as always ! surprising as never before ! and hilarious to the end! God bless you Guy ! 😉
Greetings from France.
So entertaining in all facets Guy!
This was great. I very much enjoyed the stalking by a carboard cutout. The music was great too!
Terrific! You're a versatile genius, Guy! Thanks ever so much! 😍
Hahahaha

I really enjoy your videos ! Thank you very much for your time and energy. You make very helpful content. By the way 12:40 reminds me of Dark Synthwave genre. :) Didn't see that coming ! :P
And then you decide to throw it away, because it is predictable. :P Didn't see that coming too. :)
You make me wanna just sit down and play piano, throw everything I got at the wall, and see what music 🎶 sticks😍
Very inspiring video and I got goosebumps all the time! Great! :)
That was informative and hilarious at the same time, a magnificent combination to learn!
That saloon piano library sounds delicious. Anyone know who makes it?
Its part of VI-One
you really did the most with this bit, i love it
Great scoring.

Im glad to be a subscriber to this channel. I always look forward to videos from Guy! Ive learned so much!!
I actually jumped at 16:15. I was not expecting that😄. Also, of all the A-list composers you chose Danny Elfman!😆
Guy.... You are such an inspiration to me. Thank you for your videos. That ending was hilarious!
You are such a genius, but even better - have so much fun teaching others!
one does not simply watch Guys videos without smiling
Guy, you missed a joke there... 8:03 "if this kind of thing rings your bell, then subscribe and ring my bell!" (is what you should have said)
Amazing)) love your videos so much! Huge thanks to your and your team!
you GUYs have too much fun at work...
what writing music? Playing with cardboard cut outs of Danny Elfman? Its hell I tell you...
Guy, this is sheer menace...love it
What an actor :D
Really good production
Excited to see what comes out of this 🙂
Glad I'm not in the film and tv music biz anymore .. It's just too much fun .. But can't believe how much I learn every time .. Thanks again Guy
I'd watch your videos even if I wasn't interested in the subject, you are so entertaining!
Hoping you'll do some work with Pluginguru's UNIFY not that it is out with all the new features.... Seems fitting since he's going about creating a library for the BBC Strings! ;)
Love all the tips while being based in practicality!
Genius is sometimes close to madness. I'm pleased to see you are the master of both :-) . I Love your tutorials. great content and entertainment.
Guy Michelmore, comedian, actor, entertainer extraordinaire,, also does some music stuff.
Guy is a true aritist and a good composer. I envy his students.Continue on Mr. Guy.
I may have nightmares tonight! But hey, where do I get a cardboard cutout of you? Need the inspiration. Guy, would you consider going over your hardware that you use? Would be really helpful to know what is essential for a budget studio setup.
Hey Guy, greatly appreciate the content you put out! Ive signed up on the site and hopefully soon i can look into some courses.
You are a treasure Guy! I mean a treasure, Guy. Not a treasure-guy. That would be a pirate, arrr. Love you man!
Ha, very on point ! I love your videos and your studio !
Laura.
Where is the pizzicato counter melody? I heard it in my head, and then . . .it was all over. Guy's a funny chap.
Hey mate, I love how much effort you put into your videos. Also loving your course. :)
Great very pleased t hear it

I notice you have a board with the fader controls for CC as well as faders on your keyboard. What are the faders on the keyboard for?
Comedy gold, oh and tons of inspiration and education 👌🙏
You are the Vsauce/Michael Stevens of film music and I absolutely love it.
Always a fun and educational video. You are amazing. T
Great vid as always. Which MIDI fader controller do you have?
Brilliant...as always. And while I'm hoping it's Danny, I'm betting on bonkers. :) Thanks for all you do Guy!

So true. I guess great teachers inspire, but normal teachers just teach.
Just brilliant Guy.
Love your videos! You’re incredible
You're a mad guy, Guy! But I'm loving it! Btw, what headset mic are you using? :-)
Always a pleasure Guy 👌
Excellent. Just excellent!
I wished the "pants" :( But man... It's so easy when you do it and it's so complicated when I'm doing it ;)
This reminds me so much of Elfman's soundtrack to 'Big Fish'
'I think we need something quirky...' As if the first 2 minutes and a half were normal :)))
