Great footage mate. Can I ask 2 things? 1). I recently purchased a Mavic Air Drone for the very purpose of using on Lord How Island - I have been there 3 times before and totally love the place. I did research before I left but as soon as I got there I found I got locked down because there was no cell coverage which is fantastic from a holiday mode but for drone limitations and not being a commercial flyer in 2020 - my question is how did you hack, access permission to do this great footage. - where no cell coverage was available for permission codes. I was so disappointed carrying it around thinking it was a area thing. But looking at youtube - others are doing it - it was a expensive trip and worth it but an expensive lesson that I can not find answers for. Please help. Q2). we went over there to do a product launch and test and ended up doing video footage and simulation of drone film and wanted to know I i can use some small snippets of footage and off course give you credit.
Thanks Damien. On your Qs: 1) I also had basically zero cell coverage when I was on the island. But I didn't actually require it? AFAIK, connectivity between the drone and the phone is via radio uplink, facilitated by the controller. I'm not sure what cell (3G, 4G etc., assuming this is what you're referring to) coverage would actually have to do with it (provided you've made all the necessary fw and map updates earlier at a place with wifi). 2) Not a problem, go for it :)
@@imstillhungry_ - Thanks Michael for your reply. Sorry, let me explain - With my Mavic Air, I found that because the Island is in a restricted zone that I needed to unlocked to even take off - I did request an unlock code but they send a text with an unlock code - no cell coverage to receive the code so I couldnt even take off no matter where on the island.
@@droner.australia hey sorry for the late reply. What you just described has never happened to me. In fact I've actually not come across the unlock code concept - could this have been newly introduced? For what it's worth, it's been awhile since I've flown my drone so it could be the case that if I visited LHI again I could be impacted the same way. But long story short, I was able to fly without any issues - just start up and go, as it were.
@@imstillhungry_ the moored boats. People don’t keep them to sail in open ocean. I know, I lived in the Virgin Islands. How far to neighboring islands or the mainland.

@@imstillhungry_ were you using a DJI drone or something different?
@@b0son yeah, a DJI Mavic 2!
Very good shot... Lord Howe Island always fabulous
Thanks for sharing. Longing to go back.
When photographing or shooting videos, always keep the light at your back.
Not a strict rule by any means.
thank you
Where did the boats come from. How far to civilization?
Sorry I'm not sure I understand your questions. What do you mean where did the boats come from?

@@Mr91495osh They're just fishing/leisure boats. I imagine they wouldn't venture out very far from the island.
Harbour in NSW , Australia is a 12 hour sail.
Looks like Daniel Boone.
Thanks, I think?
It’s a great video!
