Here I am 4 years later (based on the reply I left last time), still coming back to listen to this piece. Time has passed and now I'm older, I have had more life experiences. Sometimes i think about the time when i'm not on this earth anymore, and this is one of the things i'll miss -- beautiful music like this. i've liked this particular piece since i was about 10 years old, watching the Macross movie many times because it was not even translated into English yet. Every now and then I search up the Macross movie soundtrack on RUclips , or the algorithm puts up some Macross music pieces, and I always listen to this one.
There was a English dub commissioned by Toho for use on international flights to and from Japan and this dub probably did the rounds in South East Asia in territories were English is spoken as well. But yeah I agree, this is a beautiful piece to listen too. :) Another fine job by Kentarō Haneda.
What a roller coaster of a scene this was. It was hard for Hikaru to come to terms with his feelings on his own, let alone in front of the two women he's torn between. That coffee shot told so much. Also can't help but feel for both Minmay and Misa here, even if one of them ultimately 'won'
I always feel bad for Minmay. She got kidnapped and hoped to see him again. Only for him to have fallen in love with someone else and treated like she's wrong for being upset. Poor Misa caught in the middle tho
I pretty much can hear about 90% of the Macross movie soundtrack over and over again. The music and soundtrack is that good for me. And for the other 10% that I might be able to skip, I don't skip since it's just a few more minutes until another piece that I like comes on.

Cuando caminamos por la tierra deshabitada y recorrimos la ciudad y llegamos apenas con vida a Macross supe la verdad... y es que quiero que te quedes conmigo para toda la vida... - ¿¡ Eres sincero !? - No hay forma de saber cuando moriré, ¿Pero si no te importa que sea así !?... .... No puedo olvidar ese diálogo ni esta canción desde que lo escuche hace más de 20 años en una cinta en VHS de una grabación de la extinta locomotion !!!!
nada mas una corrección y precisión … Hikaru al principio de la escena cuando ella entra a la habitación no la llama por su nombre la llama por su rango.... Es hasta el final de esta escena que ambos se llaman por primera vez por sus nombres... en toda la película solo se llaman o por el rango o el apellido. saludos
@@davideduardorocha es un detalle.... pero son los detalles los que hacen que esta película sea excelente el hecho de que Hikaru la llama comandante recién haber ingresado a la habitación le agrega una mayor tensión a la escena y la expresión de Misa lo dice todo. de escenas anteriores ya sabíamos que tenían una relacion y es mas Misa llega y entra, no toca ni pide permiso para entrar. por el contrario Minmay si toca el timbre. el guion de DYRL se hizo con detalle, es un error hacer la localización occidental al subtitular o doblar esta película.
yes movie Minmay was a good choice, and especially in Flashback as well. Her character portrayal in those 2 movie pieces show that she really could have been a good and mature partner for Hikaru.
I can not find words to explain what I feel about this Movie, this anime. It's something I can't explain. I'm really happy I found Macross, even if it's old.. my favorite one. Specially DYRL.

I discovered it just recently, and man...i fell in love with the series. The movie DYRL is so powerful in its message of fraternity and love across space and time...i just HAD to view it again once it finished, and left me thinking about it for days
This music really releases the dopamine in my head , I just think about how happy misa was that hikaru chose her , this movie captured human emotion so amazingly well ❤

Bien dicho compa!.... La otra ves me Cruze con un flaco que tenía la remera de "Robotech"... (Igual es lo mismo)... Y le grite a distancia.. "aguante Robotech.. lo más grande que hay"!!.. ambos sabíamos la alegría de esta gran saga... Una joya!

Hikaru spent a short time with Minmay on the SDF1 but over a month with Misa...thinking they were the only 2 people left. That kind of bonding time probably was something special for both of them.
Al final creo que Hikaru Hichijo se queda mas por remordimiento de conciencia que un amor puro hacia Misa Hayase vamos Min Mei en esta película Recuerdas el amor si es más madura si se ve más enamorada de Hichijo sólo tuvo ese momento de debilidad i egoísmo en la escena de la batalla final pero el argumento de la trama no debía ser cambiado

Macross has sorely underrated BGM. Beautiful song for a beautiful scene, it all comes together so perfectly!

This was such a great scene, especially when Hikaru reveals his true feelings and Misa starts crying. Seeing her face light up was just wonderful.

Sí es el primer triangulo amoroso que vi en mi vida y es el inolvidable.
