Another really useful video - thanks. As an old two-channel fan, with a decent turntable ready for refurb, I'm edging towards a pair of Fives. Suspect an Era 500 may be on the distant horizon, so I'll probably have a little sad moment once that's released. Not looking for death metal volume but that bottom-end on the Fives v the slightly overly-bright edge of the Era 300 clinches it for me. Cheers.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either…
I have both setup as stereo pairs in the same room - higher volume listening play 5s really stretch their legs and are less strained.
Mid level listening I use the ERA 300s - the bass on the ERA 300s is the real surprise - though not as deep as the 5’s it sounds so clean and punchy.
With a well mixed spatial audio track like Buffalo Soldier I’ve never heard anything as immersive - even amazing stereo tracks sound flat in comparison.
If you’ve had a windfall - 2xFives and 1xEra300 isn’t a bad option, adding the second era 300 didn’t really improve the spatial audio experience a great deal, only helped with stereo.

I went with the Arc, dual gen 3 subs, and Fives as rears. I ordered everything after X-mas before I knew the release dates of the Era 100/300. My current system sounds Fantastic compared to my Nakamichi 7.2.4 it replaced. The Era 300 is the better speaker for spatial audio and Atmos movies. As of now, only about +/- 30% of the streaming and 0% of streaming audio I listen to is in Atmos format (TV cable only in Dolby 5.1). Hopefully, Atmos won't go away like curved or 3D screens if content providers don't provide enough selections with the format.

But i`m still looking for other option with 0ms latency on Aux in for music monitoring, 70ms is really problem.
And i`m pretty sure that cheaper Denon and worry that Marschall wont have this sound i felt in love.

I went with the Fives as rears for my Arc and dual subs. The Fives sit around 9-12 feet back on either side of my sofa in our rectangular great room (family room, B-fast nook, kitchen, 20 feet X 42 feet X 10 foot ceilings). The Fives are on stands along the wall on either side of the B-fast nook table pointed towards the family room. I have an extra wide opening to one side into our foyer, dining room, and formal living room. I went for the Fives because I figured they would be a laser beam of sound going directly into our primary listening spot on the sofa. I have a lot of open space, high ceilings, furniture, curtains, and area rugs to factor in with the ERA 300 that may or may not affect the final sound after Trueplay. I haven't listened to the Era 300; but, I really don't feel I'm missing out at all going with the Fives with TV, movies, or music as rear surrounds.
