When Noodles played some metal riffs like Paranoid or The Trooper and even Master of Puppets in concert I found it on youtube. It's such a cliche that punk guitarists can't play metal riffs, but it's not entirely true. Just a little story. But back to the point. You play it original and like The Offspring play it live and not with alternative picking (down and up) and you don't sew it down purely, which is more cutting. It's the down picking that gives it an edge and the second pre-chorus pun was epic and I liked it, you're really good. I can only solo in moll scale, I'm so negative, but I can't work in major chords. Anyway keep it up and if there's a chance to play some The Offspring I'll be sure to check it out. I like that you keep the style of the song, but at the same time you put the some improvization in there and it just fits there. Just great. The down picking is epic and I like it a lot. Other people cheat with alternative picking and i don't, but you put in the work and you just play it with that down picking (that's how they play it live) and at the same time you put the riff you played at the end of the second pre-chorus . It's an amateur typewriter, but maybe you can read it. I just liked that video. Otherwise happy new year even if it's an old video. But also to say thank you and all the best for the New Year.
How do you get such a grainy sound quality, I learned this song by watching your video and I can’t get the sound perfectly lol. This is better than the original.
@clfnole I think for this I actually used Neural DSP’s Fortin ‘Nameless’ Amp demo, it’s a high gain amp but you can tame it for pop punk stuff like this - hope that helps!
This is a line6? Damn I heard that line6 stopped making their amps and now are with blackstar when I heard this I tried a blackstar id core 40 watt and I thought this is the big brother of the line 6. If you haven't tried one you should! I'm about to buy another cos mine broke and I know you can save preset sounds from a pc onto the amp it is insane tbf!
How tf do you get your down picking so fast!?
Stock answer but practice. Oh and playing Metallica riffs for years ha
@@OllyHamiltonEddysame
@@OllyHamiltonEddywas gonna say that myself. Wanna get good at down picking? Bang out some 80s james hetfield and feel the burn 😂😂
Ha true - JH was on another level in the 80s
those guitars are some of the punkiest i've ever heard in a song, you did very well recreating them!
Thank you!

Great job. Excellent. Telecaster is one of the most versatil guitars, I love them. This song is magical too that's the reason I'm here
Cheers!
That was great! Love those little personal touches and flourishes. Well done.

Dear god the down pick is insane!!
Haha thank you 💪
Amazing cover! Amazing tune as well nice sounding tele. Are you using pedal? How did you get your tele sounding that rad
Thanks!
Thanks mate! No pedals on this one just stock distortion in my daw. I boosted the mids and bass in the EQ to fatten up the single coils 🤘
@@OllyHamiltonEddy what’s your amp bruh sounds heavenly
This man's wrist
Sick as FUCK!!!!!
🙌
bro can you PLEASE release the tabs?
One day soon!

Thanks Dylan. I used a boost pedal to make the single-coils sound thicker
Powerful tones sir... What your effects using sir?
Think this had an OCD cranked with a boost pedal in front
drop d?
Nope, standard tuning :)
Tuning??
Standard tuning on this one 🤙
Are you using a Helix?
Nope, some pedals and stock effects in my DAW
@@OllyHamiltonEddy in your DAW does it model any specific amp or is it just a direct in guitar tone? Sorry but I don’t record much.

@@OllyHamiltonEddyI was amazed how much chug you get on the palm mutes with the single coil Tele.
@clfnole I boost the bass a little via an EQ but otherwise it’s natural Telecaster bridge pickup chug
Nice fast downpicking.
Thanks 💨
Damn, you taught James Hetfield down picking.
Ha thanks, I learnt all my down picking moves from Hetfield!
I hear you use line6. And I like it.
