Great, great episode! I´m a big fan of Bjork and The Killers. To my ear the production and mixes on all of Bjorks records are works of genius - especially Vespertine. Working with Bjork and Guy must have been the ultimate "perfect pitch" environment. About Brandon Flowers of The Killers; One of the things I truly enjoy about Brandons vocals is the fact that he tends to sing sharp from time to time and somehow it sounds just right. It´s a rare gift - kind of like old Springsteen. Wonderful stuff!
In the ITL, Dave keeps talking about "15K." Does he mean 5K? It looks like those bands that he's soloing aren't quite that high. Most of the time if you put a bandpass filter that high it doesn't really sound like anything except air. Help?
It would be interesting if Dave would explaine about that technic that Damian said "LA3 in a LA2", ore anyone who knows about it...couse i can't nothing about it..Thanks!
it would be cool to learn about how different musicians collaborate with all those mixing engineers and producers how they act, what they think... etc etc etc. I was very amazed to find out about how Neff-U and Dr Dre collaborated - the guy described the whole process and I thank him for this little secret because this is what helps to make an overall perception of how the music industry works...
The point of the shows are to give you the insights and tips and techniques of professional producers, mixers and engineers. If you don't see the relevance of the questions and topics they discuss, you clearly don't understand music and you don't belong here.
oh,I forgot, the episode with Neff-U was very cool. Because this man described how the music is made for such big producers as, say , Dr. Dre... I used to think by my naivete that Dr. Dre makes beats himself and in fact he does not LOL, he just hires musicians and literally MAKES them play This is a small detail, but it explains a lot in the music industry. You should ask more questions on the creative process itself - in this case the show would be more informative and educational
Most of the stuff you discuss in this show is so alien to an average plain music composer you can't even imagine...I wonder this show is for who?If for amateurs, then you, guys, are mistaken when talking about all this EQing and stuff. You'd better tell something really useful, like, for example, how Charlie Clouser made such percussions in Saw series - I googled all the internet and I haven't found the exact process for it...And if such things are kept secret, then there is no point in your show
Awesome polo Herb. Thanks for proudly representing our amazing country. Peter from Montreal, Canada.

An awesome ITL bro. And I felt good when I saw Dave using the Fab Filter Pro-Q...that's my favorite EQ, that and the Waves API 560 are killer.
