Excellent presentation and really beautiful to know about the culture /background of which Paul was taking about at that time and how he admonished the new Ephesian Christians how to live in light of the cross. I just wish that Dr Mcvay included more on practical ways on how husbands, modeling after Christ’s love for His church could express love to their wives in more practical ways, so then wives could respond in love and respect. I think time isn’t just enough to cover everything, but perhaps he can write a book regarding this topic on how husbands can love their wives on a sacrificial, Christlike way -- so wives respond in love, submission and respect just as the church responds to Jesus who “first” love us. That could be an all time best seller book! 😊🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

Dr John says at 19:24 that there is no verb in Eph 5v22, but that only applies in a small number of manuscripts. The Byzantine text and the majority text have a verb ὑποτάσσεσθε hyotassesthe "be ye submitted".
Household concept: Genesis 18:19 When Jesus came, He is teaching us that we are brethrens and preparing us for His Kingdom; no Hagar/Eliezer, no Ishmael/Isaac. We (father, mother, 2.3 children, relatives and friends) are all precious children of God; co-heirs in the kingdom. So, let coheirship👸 remind us to love and submit to one another 🎉

What about Ephesians:5:21 'Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God' Is this not the ideal household code ?
