I remember I was dancing Myrta in Giselle and I had a severe injury on my ankle .. every landing from the Saut des basques felt like i was stubbed with a knife ... before every entree I was taking a deep breath I held my tears and went out there .. it was one of my best shows.. it definitely needs powerful will-pain tolerance to overcome the physical pain .. it is beautiful that dancers are so strong human beings but on the other hand dancing with extreme pain can be so dangerous .. let's all be careful #ballerinas#strongarinas
I watched her in swanlake and she is so amazing that she could perform almost choreographies & moves of world-class ballet well. In Vietnam we can't dance ballet and the theater decided to invite foreign dance company for swanlake & other..for performing.
I did a show once where I was supposed to run from the side, be lifted in the air and land, but I ran to fast and so instead of being liften I was kind of pushed away in the air, and I landed and as I stumbled I hurt my knee BAD! It was the worst pain I have ever experienced, but I kept on a smile and danced on... We later found out that I had a minor tear on my acl and that I didn't need surgery luckily
they probably give zero fucks about their health and body smh just because they care about their passion so much doesnt mean they can neglect theirselves
"We are not bothered by the pain, we are bothered by the things we cannot do because of the pain."
That's very true for me personally.

In ballet, pain is our companion.

I mean like I’m a ballet dancer and pain is my bf that just texts me in the 4 in the morning hey how r u
grows strong pain resistant
The other day I fell doing a firebird and landed in my elbow and we have a preformance on Saturday......
Thunder Chu hope you heal soon! If it’s bruised cover it with some concealer or foundation and take an Advil before you preform if it still hurts.
Blep Blep Doggo Thanks
But I also hurt my foot and I have a pointe solo and it still hurts with Advil! Hopefully it’s better by Saturday 🤞🏻
Thunder Chu Ow
It's a commercial,not a ballerina diary

So basically build a bridge and get over it and If pain gets to much simply quit
