I think with Evgenia it all boils down to a mental state because she has clearly shown that she is capable of landing all the jumps, but something happens in competition that keeps her from showing her best. Is not that she cannot skate well, there’s something psychological going on here. I just wish for her to get over all the mental hurdles so she can shine on the ice again!
It is all about the nerves! She got it all, she is amazing but after all the things she experienced, her mental state is keeping her :( away from the gold. But I believe, to grow as a person she needed to experience the worst.. Her interviews in the past were a bit spoiled and immature, overly confident almost but now you can see the deepness in her eyes 🌻 Go Zhenya! Your new fan right here!
AN98 i think she was more angry to herself than to Brian and she wanted to show her fans that she is angry and ashamed of herself. But of course she could have been more gracious, I think she has more maturing to do.. after gp france strangely I think Alina is more mature in her expressions, this shocked me
@mish098aimer I think Alina is also nervous because she needs to prove that she won for a reason, not to degrade her name. Of course idk for sure I am not her but I can sense this. So long story short, Russia for ice skating is a high pressure country to be from. As a fan, I don't care who wins as long as I enjoy the programs. I wish they could adapt this mentality.
This is the only time I actually felt for her when she was with Brian orser because I know that she was trying to do things the healthy way with technique

Сегодня то она уже далеко. Да и даже Загитова, если ничего нового не покажет, уже далеко не первая. Not the performance she was planning on. Some days you are just not over your skates. There were some good things in her performance but I am sure she isn't interested in hearing that right now. Here is hoping tomorrow is a better day. 💔

@@ElenaVid279 because 2000s had the 6.0 judging system. 2013 and 2019 have similar. and not to mention medvedvas programs are not in the level of difficulty as trusovas or kihiras or youngs. she is similar towards the 2009-2015 era as she is not increasing her difficulty to compete with current new comers. so its a fair comparison. and with that said she is not in the technical difficulty level of asada and kim either because asada and kim both had advanced jumps. if u are a Russian cheer for Trusova without getting behind a medicore skater. plenty of good russian skaters to cheer for instead of medeveda...i dont get it.
This is not Medvedeva we all know and love, post 2018 Zhenya looked very inconsistent and she lost her confidence and spark, I wonder if it's because she lost her passion for skating after the Olympics
She is so overrated! In fact, she is not really talented. All her previous success was due to very hard work and her former coach was genius and knew how to hide her weaknesses. Let's face it - she is technically weak, not complicated jumps and poor spins.
She 'is' talented tho, but she's not a great skater as most people think she is. Yes, Eteri was good at hiding her weaknesses by those cheated jumps and the major reason why she is famous that even non-figure skating fan knows her name is because she is a fan of Exo and anime, and you know how kpop stans work. When someone, whether it be an athlete, politician, or celebrity mentions that they like their oppas, they will make noise about them.
I think she is good at performance, her strength is expression of the music, but her technique is just average, so much Russian skaters are better than her technically nowadays, e.g. Trusova, scherbakova, kostornaia, and skaters outside Russia like Rika kihira, Young you etc. it is almost impossible for her, even for Alina to be on world podium again
Let me now say this to Evgenia face: You have disappointed yourself and your coaches. You have NO excuse for this SP. It is a disaster. It is unacceptable for anyone, less you, do fail on two basic jumps the 3Lz and 2A in a major competition. How long have you been figure skating? You answer is maybe 3 years and still a beginner. Evgenia it is now your second year in a re-birth. You are not re-borning yourself. You still have deep problems to fix and only YOU can fix them .You look distracted, confused. You have a few months to shape up else your career is over. Like Gracie Gold and others. Do not waste the time of your coaches Orser/Wilson. They are your coaches, not your parents, not your doctor, not your friends. This is a business Zhenya. Grow up and understand that.
@@yayaharu3114 Eteri already abandoned Zhenya 2 years ago. As the coach have done with all after they reached 18. Eteri only work with juniors. Somehow ISU allow juniors to compete in seniors. Zagitova already being abandoned by Eteri this year. (Check just finished French Grand Prix) The trouble is as her students grew up they all have deep troubles adjusting. They just can't shake lose the Eteri training. This why why none of Eteri older skaters have survived beyond 18. Evgenia is the first to try to break the curse. I am helping her to break the curse.
You sound like the immature one lol. It's common knowledge that elites of any profession can suddenly fail on basic moves during performance. Take your own advice a little and grow up, even a child is aware of such a simple fact of life.

I was not expecting this performance after her practice skates.

Ее мгновение длилось 2 с лишним года, все первые места на пьедесталах. Кто ещё из современных русских фигуристок может этим похвастаться?
