Wilf might well be one of my favourite characters in all of Doctor Who and he's only in 9 episodes.
What is your favourite scene featuring him?
    R.I.P Bernard Cribbins ❤

My favorite scene may be Wilf fleeing with The Doctor.
    "You're not coming with me?"
"You're not leaving me with her!?"
    "Fair enough."

The End of Time has its flaws but those scenes with Bernard Cribbins and David Tennant are some of the strongest in the show's history - in my opinion anyway. Like you say, Wilf only appeared in 10 episodes - 9 of those over the space of two years - and he managed to become one of my favourite characters of all-time and we're talking 18 years of me watching this show devotedly, which is seriously impressive writing and acting right there. Wilf and Bernard also act as a wonderful peacemaker amongst the warring fanbase - as one of the things all fans more or less seemingly agree on is that Wilfred Mott is one of the most beloved characters in Doctor Who.

David was my favourite Doctor before Peter came along. But the scenes with both David and Bernard, are electric, they're both at the top of the game. Beautifully written and perfectly acted. The scene with Wilf offering the Doctor the gun is heartbreaking, and so right.
Edit: The realisation on Ten's face, hearing Wilf's tapping rhythm, knowing death/regeneration isn't an enemy to be defeated and swept aside. The pain, the understanding, the horror all there.

I try my best to comment every chance I get because I am so proud of the content you are producing and the entertainment and analysis you are providing for us. I want more people to see this channel so that you can flourish and be able to continue to make art that you are proud of without worry. Once again, I am in awe and it is because of you

I’d love if Wilf was his dad, like in a forgotten past linking to Donna being lead to 10 and 14 to become the hybred as the doctor Donna in the future. - Wilf completing his destiny to allow 10 to regenerate to save gallifeay with 4 knocks.
Only because Wilf and 10 are cute af

18:00 He's not realyl talking about Wilf, he's talking about himself. Wilf's choice was made inevitable by his character and the doctor's death is made inevitable by his own.

18:48 - 19:23 I don't know. I always interpreted this whole scene differently. From the moment the Doctor heard Wilf knock, he knew he was gonna sacrifice himself. The cruel words were just him venting out his frustration and dispair. But that's just my interpretation. Great vid, man.

I was watching this last night.
One thing that absolutely struck me is that the Doctor, the time lord victorious, who had been warned of his death over and over.
A man who is furiously trying to bend fate to allow him more life and experience must choose to die himself.
It wasn't a rogue blast, or an impossible situation that he failed to stop.
He succeeds, he doesn't get killed.
But there is a friend that needs him, but a friend that is also willing to die so the doctor can live.
The man that thought he could rule time, in a way does. He is the only thing that could end him.
His choice is the only thing he couldn't worm out of, the only thing he really couldn't fix.
Thank you for talking about Wilf. RIP

Wilf was a soldier who never killed anyone - Bernard was a soldier who never killed anyone ...
The Doctor saved him because he knew he could, should, always would ... because he was a man who never could ... just like Wilf ...
He, in this regeneration is possibly 6 years old ...

  • @DaDunge

13:30 I don't think it's heartbreaking, I think it's inspiring. The tenth doctor was born in battle, the 9th doctor was at this point the doctor that fought the time war, he remains the dcotor marked by the time war. The tenth doctor does not in battle against an enemy but trading eternal life for the few years Wilfred has left. 6 years out of infinity the tenth doctor got, but the prophecy was never about him being defeated. It was never forced on him, it was made inevitable by who he is. The time lord victorious may have left WIlfred to die, the doctor never would. He became 10 wanting to be a hero not just a survivor and he gets to be that one last time. And by being that he can move on and he becomes a young man again. Note how while 9 and 10 sought out the Daleks and fought them at every chance, ten ignores them unless they come for him, he's letting go of the time war. The man who regrets leaves way to the man who forgot.

really? The eleventh doctor, the twelfth doctor, the eleventh hour, the big bang, the girl who waited, the god complex, the doctors wife, mummy on the orient express, under the lake, the doctor falls, heavensent, oxygen, extremis, Amy and Rory, bill and nardole. None of these are at least 'good' and are all bad? Thats kind of delusional, try taking nostalgia goggles off.
