I left Hull thirty year ago, I live in Germany now sorry to say but it was the best move I ever made, that place was going down hill back in the early eighties.
I lived on bransholme, 478 stroud crescent east, back in 1970 to 76, my childhood basically. Makes me feel sad looking at this video because our life wasn't the best. I always remember the underfloor heating though, when it was on, not often because we were pretty poor. But we had fun times at bransholme as kids, we played like kids, no mobiles, no laptops, infact in our house we pretty much had nothing lol.
Brings back memories, lived in Stockleigh in the early 80's & went to Dulvy, then moved to the garths. Left Hull in '89 to move to the Sunny Sarf. Still love coming back but mum went all posh & moved to Sutton...ladee bloody dah..lol

Yeah yano its easy to rag on branny if you've ever lived there. I grew up there and it was brilliant. Wish i was back there. Hull is the best city anyways man. I moved down the road to goole. I wanna move back to hull tho.
I used to live in this area until about 1976. and go to school at Bransholme senior high. I guess this place was torn down. I now live in the USA. and have from 1979. sometimes I wish that i could find some old mates from school just to see what they are doing now.
The vid was not supposed to show Bransholme in a bad light. I shot it for nostalgia value nad only posted it as an afterthought. It shows the area I grew up which I remember positively. You have interpreted it as an attack. It isn't.
forgot too add in my reply not all people on our council estates are bringing them down its the ones who think they can live life for free and make others unhappy . p.s.love the specials .
I went to school just down the road from Bransholme Center in the early 1980s. It was a tough estate then, but I agree with other commenters that there are probably worse estates elsewhere in the UK, and I know of people who got out of the estate and are now doing well for themselves with their careers.
going on there was the worst thing i ever did i was walking down a certain street and i got jumped by 3 lads they left me in a right mess and took my mobile of me it full of nob,smack heads,chavs carnt have nothing
orchard park and bransholme lets add preston road . council has thrown money at these estates its the people need too change . stop spongers.look at the amenities around you what other estates in hull have what you have but you cant be arsed to get off your arses. ings road estate is getting to be the worse place to live because of the council relocating

I lived on Orchard Park for nearly 20 years and its not as bad as people say... infact in the latter years mid to late 2000's it was dead as hell from my personal experience... like all the kids jjust fucked off on xbox, network gaming, net etc... i now live down analby road and it plus hessle road is a shit hole..

Hull born and bred, Brandsholme to Sutton, Now in Somerset, Southwest England. Miss home but just a shame how it is now
