+robert barrrett It was only meant to be a visual of a cap rather than a real cap design! But yes you could do a second thicken of the surface and go the other way, then use thicken on the outer faces to offset the side walls in to give a bit of fit tolerance
Would you mind adding files with parts you're using in your videos such as this bracket, so we could get an insight of how you approach creating these?
Tremendous! By chance, with your phenomenal approaches and personality to boot...do ya think that you'll ever be venturing into the HSM CAM kernel of our beloved Inventor to machine a part such as this triple tree? Also, how killer it would be in HSM to mill the free form shapes for the cap covers that you performed in this tut as would be done in the tool and die injection molding world...Ho-Lee-CAD-God would I ever flip a biscuit over such coverage! Crushing it man! Best instructor I've ever observed!
+Wes Sugg Haha I'm loving the enthusiasm! Unfortunately I don't have any experience at all with HSM or anything CAM related, so it's not something I'll be dipping into I'm afraid!
10-4 that good buddy! With a brain as completely jammed packed with as much bad assery as yours, I can see how things may get dangerously hectic working between parametrics to 3+2 axis mill turning environments! I have a sneaking suspicion still though, that by next week you'll be crushing that mo-fo too! Basically, what I'm trying to say is...snap to it...I will remain doubly in tune for the first of 500 HSM Pro CAM tricks!!! Keep up the level 10 trillion rated ballzin' tips and tricks tuts my most admirable tech wizarding sorcerer!!
+TFI CAD Tips only if I can have whatever it is that you're smoking in trade! haha!! The students here among us will be patiently waiting to see your work in 2016 continue forth our CAD God!!!
+Son nguyen hoang www.3dconnexion.co.uk/products/spacemouse/spacenavigator.html I'll be doing a separate video showing this working and a demo, but there are already many videos on RUclips showing this product
+Jakub Struszczyk Ha, it was meant to just be a visual representation of a cap rather than a real functional cap! To make it bigger than the hole, use thicken on the outer face of the cap to offset the side wall outwards
Hey there, how am I gonna make the diameter of the cap a mm smaller so it can fit inside the hole (while having used the patch and the thicken command of course)?
+Σοφια Τσαβαλια Hey, you just use the thicken command again but this time use it on the side face to thicken a cut into the solid. It won't always work, kind of depends on the shape you've got but that's what I would do!
Oh my god, it's a 7 second intro. If that's enough to break you, you're going to struggle to learn 3D CAD. By the way, you've got 'Scooter - Move Your Ass' in your liked videos so if you're happy to listen to Scooter for 5 minutes, I don't think my 7 seconds of copyright free music is really an issue here.
The best Anchorman on youtube !Absolutely love your clips
You're a life saver, thanks so much!!
Thanks facinating tutorials I'm just working through your free form one now .

Thanks man, helped me alot!
very handy ,is it possible to add a further patch under the first cap to form a locating pin dropping into the hole of the model.

how to extend the patch? how to make it bigger then the hole to make more realistic cap.
